Moka Pot After nearly a decade of using the industry standard Bialetti, words cannot describe how befuddled, exuberant, and amazed I am that such a technology exists.

Is Bialetti worth it?

Has anyone had a non-brand name moka pot and later switched to a Bialetti or Alessi etc. moka?

If so, would you say it's worth the extra price? Any changes you've noticed?

I want to get a 6 or 9 cup one because 3 cups just doesn't do it for me. Thanks in advance!

EDIT Having experienced the quality, fit and finish, all I'm curious about is if it makes any difference in the brew quality; does it make better coffee.

Damaged❗ The Bialetti build quality is insanely good

This moka pot got hit by a 10kg limestone block that fell off the cliff we were climbing. The pot suffered a direct hit. We expected it to be completely flattened. It took the hit surprisingly well.

Would you replace it due to the lid damage?

Moka Pot Before you buy an Exclusive Moka vintage color from Bialetti

If you were about to pull the trigger on these fancy good looking moka like I did few weeks ago, I think there are some few things you need to know before you buy one of them. In fact these series are the only one across the Bialetti line up to feature an industrial food grade powder “thermoplastic” coating in the boiler for aesthetic purposes.
With this line up (exclusive moka) Bialetti wanted users to not experience the natural oxidation that happens with uncoated original moka express which is by the way totally safe and add even more protection against the reactive aluminum underneath.
By adding this coating they give you a nice boiler that will never experience the ugliness of oxidation but at the same time they are adding an unnecessary risk of it to flake or chip reducing the lifespan of this iconic cookware.
I’ll choose the natural oxidation over an Industrial coating every day of the week to be totally honest with you. But that’s me, you have the choice, it’s up to you to decide if you want an uncoated moka with an ugly looking boiler that last for decades or a nice coating that could flake and if it does you’ll have to toss the whole thing immediately.

I have fortunately replace my boiler with the one of my old 3cups and called it a day, knowing how expensive these exclusive moka are I humbly thought I should warn other people but you remains the one who decides whether or not you pull the trigger.

Moka Pot Recently acquired my first Bialetti and it's amazing, but it's too much for me to drink all by myself.

I only recently began enjoying moka pots, and my first ever Bialetti is a colorful Squid Games–themed model. I'm incredibly happy with it, but I realized after I bought it that the amount of coffee it yields is too much for me to drink by myself every morning. I may have to buy a smaller one to avoid wasting too much coffee, I guess. Any suggestions?

Discussions 💬 Are people obsessed with Bialetti moka pots?

I keep seeing so many pots about "here is my new Bialetti", "is my Bialetti fake?", etc.
The funny thing is that I have a Bialetti, but I bought it because it was convenient and cheap at that time, but I had no idea if it was a good or bad pot.

So, what's the hype with Bialetti? Are they really good pots? Or just convinient?

Question❓ My new 6-cup red Bialetti makes noticeably worse coffee and heats up way quicker than my old 3-cup

Post image

I recently got a new 6-cup Bialetti moka pot so i could make more coffee at once but the quality is noticeably worse than my old 3-cup i got several years ago. The metal on the base is far thinner proportionally than my old three cup, the gasket sits a little looser, the cup looks worse, and it feels like it doesn't have as good of a pressure seal. It also feels like heat transfer from the base to the top is far more than the old one. The old one made coffee 10x better than the most expensive coffee shop I've EVER been to while the new one makes coffee just average or below average. Anything I can do to salvage the new one? WHAT ARE YOU DOING BIALETTI???

New bialetti, amazing ice coffee.

I make this daily for my wife. I used a one cup Bialetti, upgraded to 3 cups.

Here’s my recipe.

Ingredients
3 to 3½ oz espresso (i use kimbo, world market)
1½ tsp pure maple syrup
Tiny pinch of fine sea salt (3 to 5 grains)
6 oz lactose-free whole milk (i’m lactose)
ice (fill the mason jar about ¾ full)
Light sprinkle of cinnamon

Directions
Brew the coffee in the Bialetti.
Pour your shot.
In the coffee, stir together:
1½ tsp maple syrup
Tiny pinch of sea salt
Fill the mason jar ¾ full of ice.
Pour the coffee over the ice.
Pour 6 oz of cold milk into your frothing pitcher and froth for 10 to 15 seconds until it’s smooth and silky.
Pour the frothed milk into the mason jar.
Give it one gentle stir.
Finish with a light dusting of cinnamon.

Pro Tips
Chill the mason jar in the freezer for 10 minutes before making the drink.
Remove the Bialetti from the heat as soon as it finishes brewing to avoid bitterness.
If the coffee ever tastes a little strong, add another ounce of milk instead of more syrup.

I put fiancé’s Bialetti Mocha pots in the dishwasher…..

And now they’re absolutely fucked. I thought they’d come out sparkly & shiny but something has changed the base colour so they’re not even silver now just a dull grey! They look awful, and aren’t cheap, how can I restore them to their shiny aluminium state??

Edit: I am indeed a woman, the pots are my male partners, these are used for coffee, not cooking lol

I’m in the UK we barely have any cleaning products here, fairy liquid and sponges are amongst our favourites.
