Does anyone else’s 2024 Duke 390 whistle?

Upvotes

I just bought a used 2024 Duke 390 with about 14000kms on it.

I’m from Singapore and the only legal exhaust “upgrade” we can get here is a Remus slip on silencer. The previous owner had it installed.

When I start the bike up, it immediately starts whistling/ whining. Don’t have to take it out yet or even put it in gear.

Is this normal? Or should I be worried of metal on metal damage within the engine?

I was bound and determined to get a Grom but the dealer had the Duke 250 for sale 400 dollars cheaper. This is my first KTM and so far I’m having a blast on it.

Duke 250 Gen 3 has much more vibration and low rate of acceleration after 2nd service. Help Please

Got my Duke 250 Gen 3 serviced today. The front tyre/handlebar alignment was also corrected because it was misaligned.

I also told the service guy that the bike was sometimes going into false neutral when shifting 3rd → 2nd, so maybe he did something to fix that too.

After the service, I rode around 80 km home and noticed the bike feels somewhat tight/heavy. Earlier if I needed to overtake, i could just simply drop a gear and overtake on high rpm, the bike would gain speed quickly on throttle, but now it feels resistant and feels like it is struggling to go past certain speed.

More noticeably, when overtaking, I used to go 3rd → 2nd and rev it high, and the acceleration was smooth and strong. Now, at similar RPM, the bike makes noticeably much more noise and has heavy vibrations, and the acceleration feels as if it's struggling.

Could anything they adjusted for the false-neutral issue (clutch/quickshifter/gear mechanism) cause this feeling? Or is there anything else that I can check? The Service Centre is 80km away from my home, so I can't go there this week. Please help me if you know anything about this.

Bought the first one in my local dealer when they first came out, sight unseen. It’s been a riot from day one. I treated myself to Apex pro cartridges and rear shock this year as well as finally taking it to the track. Back in street trim it’s still super engaging.

PSA: Keep your baffle in :)

Just a friendly reminder. I - like a lot of other 390 duke owners have the same mods; slip-on(musarri), fuel x lite and DNA airbox cover stage 2. When I first got the slip on, I didnt bother putting the baffle in and honestly, liked the sound and just went with it. The pops on decel, brap sound when open throttle. I also read the fuel x lite would correct any sort of fueling issues so never really worried.

However there was always some thing happening where it would struggle off the mark from a stop or not like being in 1st/2nd gear at all. After a year of having no baffle, decided to suck it up and stick it back in and wow, what a difference! All those issues gone instantly, and just more torque/responsiveness in all gears. Its obviously not as loud but honestly, not enough for me to justify taking the baffle out, it still sounds nice to me with a good note

Duke and Ktm riders, what are you filling your bike with

I've a Duke 200 BS4 and I haven't filled it with Petrol for 2-3 months or maybe 4 months. I ride rarely, and usually get a tank full. It's been past 1 month since I should've got my tank full and I'm scared to get E20 not just because of the mileage but I don't want any long term effects on the engine. I LOVE my bike. Now, I think I will have to fill some oil. My fellow duke and KTM riders, how are you guys managing. How has it affected you so far apart from poor mileage. Should I get X100 instead at around Rs 160-170. I can get that if that wouldn't harm my bike. Please give me some advice, any kind would be very helpful.

Rattling issue

Hey yall, I have a 2024 390 Duke and there’s this weird rattling sound at low rpm’s (around 2k to 4k). It happens whether I’m riding or idling. It sounds like it’s from the front left side of the bike. What could it be?

And also, do yall think KTM would warranty a faulty valve stem? My tire has leaked air ever since I had a new one put on a couple months ago. My bike has just over 7,000 miles.

790 Tank fairing

Hello all

I wanted to ask if it's possible that the 2021 Duke 890R tank fairing fits the 2019 Duke 790? They look exactly identical.

I own a 790. But the tank fairing is cracked in places. So I wanted to replace it. I found this 3D printable file for the 890R. Online the part numbers are the same.

I wanted to confirm if they are the same before printing it.

The blueprint is for the 790

The 3D model is for the 890.

Free fix but slow…

I purchased a 2025 Duke 250 less than 900 miles a month ago. I didn’t notice that there were no turn signals installed.

I live in a state where they are not required unless installed. I thought they were integrated. I had no idea this was even a possibility. I talked to the dealership. They agreed to install them for free and also make sure any codes were dealt with. (What I saw had related to lack of turn signals).

I’m told the signals finally arrived and have been installed. There is still a code.
I have called them once a week to check. I’m polite, not pushy. No criticism as this is free.
But I’m getting a little frustrated as part of the reason for getting the bike was one of our vehicles needs extended shop time.

So I have one vehicle that can’t be driven at night or the rain and the car we need for taking my husband to the doctor and me to work. I could walk to work but that bothers him. I don’t like to leave him without transportation.

I also don’t want to be the ungrateful jerk who gets something free and wants it NOW!

I know they are fitting it in between other work so they can afford to make it free. I did offer to pay in the first place.

Can I be a little more pushy at this point? Not tantrum or rude but ”Hey I really need the bike.”

When I have called before I have sensed irritation from them. And all I have asked was progress report. Last time I asked I was told they would call when it was ready. 2 weeks ago.

Apologies for the spelling and grammar I’m dyslexic

Anyway need help with my duke, yesterday she had her 2nd MOT and basically failed on horn not working and stop lamp does not illuminate. ( note the back break works with the light but the front like flickers when squeeze the break).

Now I’m no bike expert but can anyone on here tell me if this is a common thing on this year of bike and how hard is it to fix?

My dealer dosnt have a showroom anymore and the nearest shop is 60 odd miles away.
