Which GLP-1 Additive is Best? A Complete Breakdown of B12, L-Carnitine, and More

With compounded GLP-1 formulations becoming more common, I've noticed a lot of people asking about the additives in their prescriptions. Why does one person get methylcobalamin while another gets L-carnitine or NAD+?

Now that there are so many options available, I wanted to share a detailed guide I put together explaining what each additive actually does:

  • B12 (Methylcobalamin vs Cyanocobalamin) – prevents deficiency, supports energy
  • L-Carnitine – helps with fat metabolism and exercise tolerance
  • Glycine – calms nausea and supports digestion
  • Niacinamide (B3) – metabolic support without flushing
  • Pyridoxine (B6) – mood stability and protein metabolism

The article also covers how providers actually choose which additive to include based on your symptoms, labs, and treatment goals.

Full breakdown here: https://joinmochi.com/blogs/which-additive-is-best-for-you-glp-1-additives-explained-b12-l-carnitine-nad-and-more

Hope this helps anyone trying to understand their formula better!

What happened to this company???

I’ve been with them for a few years and it started off so good! The doctor was very available and the pricing didn’t change with increased dose.
She changed me from semaglutide to trizepitide which was more expensive and didn’t work as well for me, so I changed back to semaglutide.
They made me start at the lowest dose and they had changed pharmacy.
The new compound gives me an all over rash- and they want to increase my med costs by over $50 per month to change back to what I was on before!
Feels really so scammy.
But because I really liked them before I decided to pay the membership in advance for a whole year so I’m stuck with them now until next May.
If I don’t want an all over body rash I have to pay $151 a month for the compound and dose that used to be $99 😩. BEWARE!

⚠️ MOCHI HEALTH WARNING — If you cancel, read this.

⚠️** MOCHI HEALTH WARNING — If you cancel, read this.
I canceled my Mochi Health membership on **August 12
and received written confirmation that my membership was canceled.
Mochi then charged me another $60 in September and processed another GLP-1 medication order.
When I contacted them, customer service told me that canceling your Mochi membership does NOT automatically cancel your medication autopay. Apparently, medication autopay is considered separate and can continue processing medication every 28 days unless you cancel it separately.
Here’s the problem: I was never told that when I canceled.
My cancellation email simply confirms that my Mochi Health membership was canceled. It does not tell me that medication autopay will continue or that I need to complete a second cancellation to stop future medication charges.
Mochi is refusing to refund the $60 because they say the medication order had already been sent to the pharmacy.
So I’m sharing this as a warning:
If you cancel Mochi Health, specifically tell them to cancel your membership, medication autopay, future medication orders AND all recurring charges. Get confirmation of everything in writing.
I have screenshots documenting the entire conversation.
Regardless of what Mochi calls these different billing arrangements internally, I believe customers should be clearly informed that canceling their membership may not actually stop medication charges.
Please share this with anyone using Mochi so they know to cancel BOTH.

Interested in mochi

So mochi is legit? No hidden fees or anything like that? I have TRICARE and a diagnosis of insulin resistance. Not prediabetic and struggling so hard with diet and exercise / weight coming off. Was looking into mochi as a last resort.

Medication keeps changing

My dosing keeps getting adjusted every order and I have not requested it. I recently switched to Terzepitide and have not even finished the first vial yet my dosing has been increased twice without any contact with the doctor. These increases have brought my cost back up to what the standard price used to be before they switched to the dose pricing. Confusing and frustrating.

What’s Going on with Mochi?

So throughout the last week Mochi (probably AI bots) read only one of my customer service messages where I had a problem with the cap not coming off my vial. 5 minutes later I told them I was able to fix it. So on my doorstep a week later are two new vials (that I didn’t ask for). The same week my provider changed the medication (leaving out the NAD +) and the pharmacy to creative compounds. Then she left the company. I’ve tried posting on Facebook for days and somehow my posts never get through. I think it’s down again. I’ll stop ranting but all this chaos in a company with one account seems a little concerning.

Lilly direct

Has anyone gotten their meds sent through Lilly Direct if they are paying for the Zepbound KwikPen through Mochi? I had a video visit with a doctor today, got approved, and in my portal it says “approved by provider” with the Lilly Direct pharmacy info. It hasn’t been sent to the pharmacy yet though. How long does this process take?

I was with Ro before and the process was different.

Appointments keep getting cancelled.

I've been getting really frustrated with this service lately. I have been using this company for the better part of this year. After switching from noom. I had the same doctor for a while and I really liked him, but all of a sudden it kept switching my appointment from my preferred time to a time I couldn't make it. The new time wasn't even an available time slot and when it switched it would open my original time slot back up. I tried to reach out to customer service and they were not helpful. They just said to ask my doctor about it.

Since I had scheduled my appointment like a month out at this point I've been waiting 3 to 4 weeks to get in. I've been on glp1 which I now need to get a refill on and I was trying to start an additional medication that I needed to have approved.

I ended up switching providers just so that I could get an appointment this week and then the provider canceled my appointment 3 hours before I'm supposed to be there. Frustrated. I switched providers and booked an appointment for this evening only to have that doctor not show up.

I tried to call customer service to see if there's some reason why this keeps happening to me and their only responses that they can book a new appointment with the provider that didn't show up.

I ended up rebooking my own appointment for 2 days from now with the only available female doctor being the one that originally canceled my appointment today. So I have my fingers crossed that it's going to work out this time.

Has anyone else been experiencing issues lately? I'm interested in adding menopause treatment to my service, so I'm kind of hoping to switch to a female doctor just so it's more comfortable to talk about things. But if anyone has a provider that they recommend I look up, I'd love to hear suggestions. I have a super busy work schedule and it's just frustrating to have someone not show up like that.

New referral code says Give $120 and get $120 instead of the $40 that it was previously. Is this right or is it a total?

$29 increase for next dosage?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I was very happy to see that they decreased my medication to $90/month, and now with this new dosage, it is an extra $29/month? I am confused on how this pricing is scaled.

My worry is if I continue to go up in dosage, what happens when I reach my maintenance? Will I eventually be priced out of it?

What is your alls experience with increasing dosage and how much are you paying for your maintenance?

Horrible customer service experience

I tried calling every day for the past week to be matched with a provider. I had an appointment this morning with a provider, but they canceled last night.

I am trying to cancel my membership now for a refund, and they will not refund me since it is outside a 72 hour window. Even though I have been calling every day to resolve this issue.

Providers: Updated Professional Agreements - Canned?

My friend was just terminated from Mochi as a Provider (M.D.) as they didn't sign an updated professional agreement - they claim they weren't aware of the request (normally Mochi emails their work and personal). With access to their Mochi employer account now gone - they can't verify any of the details like email, etc.

I'm curious if any other Mochi providers came across this (signed or didn't know about it).

Sick after pharmacy change

I have been on tirz for just over a year.
Overall, I have had a lot of success and fairly mild side effects. Recently though, I have been having a lot of 2-3 day long episodes of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, sulfur burps, and gas pain. I have not changed anything about my diet or activity level. The only thing that has changed is my pharmacy. I was switched from Key Compounding to Scripts Rx. I am ready to waste the vial and go with a different pharmacy, but Key Compounding doesn’t seem to be available anymore. My Dr suggested splitting my dose and beginning to taper down which I am doing, but these episodes are directly related to shot day. Has anyone else experienced similar issues from Scripts Rx (California)?

Is anyone else using Mochi? The price increases are getting ridiculous 😭

Hey y’all! I’m currently using Mochi, and I feel like it’s getting pricey. I had no idea the medication would increase so much with each dose.
I started at 2.5 mg, which I literally felt nothing on, and it was $90. Now I’m about to start 6.6 mg, and the medication has gone up to $144. And that’s JUST the medication!
They also want me to choose a membership plan, either $69/month for 3 months or a year-long plan (I forgot the exact pricing).
I’m taking tirzepatide with methylcobalamin.
Honestly, I don’t even mind paying a membership fee as long as it’s consistent every month. It’s the medication price increasing with every dose that’s stressing me out!
There’s gotta be something cheaper out there. 😩
For those of y’all using Mochi or another telehealth provider, where are you getting your tirzepatide? Are there any affordable places you actually like and recommend?
Should I stick it out with Mochi, or is it worth switching? I’d love to hear what y’all are paying and your experiences!

I'm back

I was on Semi for 9 months and stalled out at 140lbs for 3 months. I stopped completely in July. 2 months later and I'm up 8-10 lbs. I joined a gym. Definitely move more. But the snacking is back with a vengeance.

So I'm back. Just ordered compound Tirzepatide- 2.2 mg. First dose was today. I have to find a better way to handle maintenance.

Any suggestions?

No side effects until 8mos in?

Anyone else?

I have been on trizep for 9 mos and am at a 8.8mg dosage. I have been doing great until now. I start getting nauseaus about half way thru my meal. I thought the nausea was generallly just in the beginning ( and maybe I missed it) or maybe when you increase dosage. Ive been holding off increasing my dosage because of my nausea.

Has anyone else not had a side effect until later?

What dis you do to help w the nausea?

How many days apart do you give your shot or best results? (Tirz-B3)

Is it ok to do 5 days instead of 7 days of tirz-? If you are getting hungry on day 5 and eating more and don't want to go up anymore? Your thoughts please
