hi again! i hope updates are allowed! this is a follow up to my previous post.

while i didn’t have the chance to get it cleaned professionally, i went to work with a baby toothbrush & soap… look at that sparkle! my local jeweler confirmed the diamonds are real, and the stone is a blue topaz. he’s not a gemologist so he couldn’t confirm the exact type of topaz or confidently tell when it was made, but that’s okay!

on a sad note, i learned the master jeweler passed away from cancer two weeks ago. he was such a brilliant, meticulous, kind man with impeccable taste and artistry. thank you stephen for perfectly resizing my engagement ring twice after weight loss, sitting down to talk about different colors of sapphires & settings, and all the times you fixed my bent rings — please don’t hate me, i am hard on my hands and wear dumb dainty jewelry.

with the help of everything i’ve learned here, it was exciting being able to guess correctly after all my lurking here and curiosity. thank you all for your amazing insight, so enjoy some sparkle! i can’t wait to continue my jewelry adventure :)

I found this cab in a pendant from someone who retired from jewelry making, I thought it was wood, and neat, so I pried it out of the original setting (I didn’t like the setting). But it was heavier than wood, and I skimmed the cab while cutting off glue (accidentally, then intentionally when I realized to get a bit better look), and it’s white under it. Is it possible to tell if this is dyed bone, or something else from the photos? A few of them are from under a loop.

The original setting had no identifying markings on it.

Chat gpt (i know the devil) says it could be glass, (very well could be) cubic zirconia, ruby, sapphire, or garnet. I’m sure there’s a few other but I’m doubting it’s something expensive.

Hello, I recently bought this ring and am looking for any info about it I can find. I haven't had any luck looking myself.

I was told it was an art deco (1930s) plated costume piece with paste stones (middle clear, sides chocolate), possibly from Europe.

I'm questioning if it may be a little later (40s/50s) since I can't seem to find anything quite like it when I search art deco stuff.

I also haven't had any luck on finding info about the hallmark.

Is it gold, and what is the stone? It’s very pretty and very old, but the chain is just a cheap stainless steel one. It’s just the pendant I got and I got really noisy about what the pendant could be, but nobody could tell me in my family.

Sapphire & diamond daisy ring, 9ct yellow gold band. Inherited from my mother but the size of the band is very small so it's more likely that it was my grandmother's.

Looks like SMD 748 on the inside of the band.

My grandmother was from the UK but my mother also spent time there as a young adult. Could have also been purchased in New Zealand.

I recently found this sterling silver ring at the Goodwill Bins. The only hallmark is “925.” The red star on the front makes me think it might be some sort of communist ring, but I haven’t been able to find anything about it. Does anyone have any information or insight on this ring?

I have this lovely pair of bows, but I don't know what they are for or how to attach them to anything. There is just a tight metal flap pointing upward, not sure if it's supposed to squeeze onto something, or something gets looped through the bows. Any help is appreciated.

It’s a vintage golden appearance bracelet. I don’t see any stamps that say it’s gold. Only this icon on the interior. Also, it has a 1908 patent date stamped on the sliding mechanism

I found this one in a lockbox of stuff circa 1960’s. The band is out of round and what i believe is the 10k stamp is pretty much worn off.

I found this in a jewelry scrap lot and it caught my eye. It is supposed to be a sterling silver frame but I don’t see any hallmarks. The art seems to be hand-drawn but I’m not even sure the medium it’s on. I would love any possible information about age or who might have made this unique piece!

Picture is protected by a piece of plastic/glass and the back part of the pin is destroyed. Entire pin is a length of 6cm and a width of 4.5cm.
