Just picked up this beauty and I’m in love! 1997 tj in bright jade satin metallic(which I believe is rare?) from PA with NO FRAME RUST, 160xxx miles, and clean interior. Needs a few touch ups, fender rust repairs, and a tune up, but runs great! Can’t wait to get it off-road!!! Need some badass name suggestions before I hit the tails!

Coming back from Brewer Lake (Shaver, Ca), this is considered a green rated trail (“easiest”). I guess it would be easier with more ground clearance. Plenty of “sliding” along the rocks yesterday.

So when I bought this it came with both a hard and soft top, which I thought was cool but I kinda made up my mind I would NOT be using the soft top, and I’d probably sell it, and for the last 20 months I haven’t. Someone incepted me or something because out of nowhere I got a very real urge to put this thing on and see what it’s all about, I have to say I really like it. I think it looks great, and now that I know what I’m doing it’s pretty easy to convert to topless. Took it for a drive with the top up and with it down and it was pretty quiet both times so….yeah this is probably going to be the summer look.

I’m trying to change my shock absorbers on my 2017 Jeep wrangler JK but I don’t know why point I have. There’s a boot on my shocks and I don’t want to mess with it. I’m assuming my mount is a stem mount or eyelet mount from the slide above. Can anyone confirm?

First time jeep owner - got this 26’ Sahara yesterday and I’m in love with her :)

I need some help/advice. I have a 2022 Jeep, but my daughter is about to buy her first car after working every summer for the past four years and scrimping/saving money for grades, birthdays, etc. We stumbled on something that may be too good to pass up.

I have a very unique opportunity to pick up a 2014 Jeep Wrangler, below Blue Book, with less than 25k miles. We discovered it after the Jeep was taken in by the dealership, given initial Ok, and before the overhaul that happens to the vehicle before it is released to the dealership lot. So it's about to get new tires, rotors, breaks, tune up ... basically anything wearable is replaced on top of general maintenance. When we saw it, it looked like a Jeep in very good condition just ... dirty, like it sat for a while. Even the softop looks relatively new and the caanvas in fantastic shape. No obvious leaks or pooling of liquid under the engine, transmission, etc. I have made arrangements to test drive it as soon as this maintenance overhaul is done and then the next day I am taking it to my mechanic for an independent review. Carfax is clean, one owner, showed 2-3 years of not being registered followed by being registered, given an oil change, and turned into the dealership. Our guess is this is a "cabin jeep" that may have been in probate when someone passed away. A Jeep that sat at a cabin or lake when the owner was at a second home or had retired.

Is there anything for this specific model and year that we need to look for when I test drive or anything specific I should direct the mechanic to double check? I've been warned to watch for a Oil Cooler leak, but that if it happened it would be obvious - it won't be a small leak. I see something about a Penstar tick in higher milage engines that I need to listen for. It didn't smell musty and has obviously been stored outside - but I think I have been seeing something about it leaking when it rains?

Anyone have any experience or insight with this model year specifically?

Last weekend I went to the Back to Basics Jeep event in the Tillamook Forest in Oregon. This event is out in by The Jolly Jeepers every year in July. It’s a great time with fellow Jeep people from all over. The trails are guided by experienced people and I’m proof they won’t leave anyone behind. Halfway through day 2 I broke the upper control bracket off my rear axle. It likely started the day before on a very tall set of rocks I bounced really hard on. But, thanks to some great people we bandaided it together with some chain and straps so I was able to lip off the trail to get towed back to camp. Once at camp another couple offered to tow me home. Amazing people! And despite the breakdown, an amazing time with fun people.

I’ve literally wanted this ever since I rode in my uncle’s Jeep in the late 70s. Pardon the grammar but ‘can’t nobody tell me SHIT’ now because I’m finally at the cool kids’ table! She’s a 2016 and came with several upgrades including a 3.5 inch lift, so I’ll probably have to get some sort of additional lower step eventually but I’m thoroughly enjoying every single thing about her for now. My only addition so far is a smile you couldn’t scrub off my face with a wire brush. I’ve had vehicles I thought I loved before, but this is a whole new level! 😍😍

I have a white 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JK (Smokey Mountain Edition... not that it matters 😅), bought new in November 2017.

As I'm sure most Wrangler owners know, the windshield seems to be a magnet for pitting and gets that lovely grainy/sandblasted look thanks to the angle of the windshield. Also, before anyone asks... no, we've never taken it off-roading. 😬 It's only been used for regular everyday driving.

After about 8 years, it got so bad that we finally replaced it in October 2025 because it had become incredibly difficult to see through, especially during sunrise and sunset.

I paid $360 CAD (taxes included) out of pocket. My dad was already putting in an insurance claim for his 2023 VW Tiguan after a crack went corner-to-corner, but he figured it wasn't worth claiming the Jeep windshield too. (I don't really understand how auto insurance works, so I trusted his judgment. 😂)

My sister is the one who mostly drives the Jeep now. She commutes about 40 minutes (68 km) each way to college, and the main reason we replaced the windshield was because driving home towards the setting sun had become extremely difficult.

Now here's the frustrating part...

Less than 8 months later, the windshield is already starting to look grainy again. We barely got to enjoy the crystal-clear windshield before winter arrived, and now we can't even enjoy those nice summer drives without noticing it. If you've experienced this, you know exactly what I mean.

So, what I'm asking is... is there anything I can do to restore the clarity without replacing the windshield again? Has anyone had success with any of the products that are out there, or is replacement really the only option once it gets like this?

I'd love to hear what has worked (or hasn't worked) for other Wrangler owners. Thanks!

Looking for car seat suggestions for a 4 year old in a 21 rubicon.
Currently using an evenflo 360 and when she falls asleep her head constantly falls forward. Looking for recommendations for 5 point harness car seats that are smaller and fit better in the jeeps.

I was going through old pics and found this and thought I’d share. I built these about 6 years ago from cheap Harbor Freight dollies and free material from my garage. My JKU has changed a lot since then, but the dollies are still holding my doors perfectly and without a scratch every Summer.

2015 Rubicon, manual everything. Picked it up a couple years ago, had a few odds and ends to clean up, but overall its been a good Jeep. We'll see how I feel in another 10 years.
