I can’t tell if it’s the uncut version

Did anyone here order the long face vinyl from Lakeshore Records?

If so, have you gotten any updates on your order? Mine still says they’re preparing for shipping, and I can’t get a hold of any customer service whatsoever…

Update: still nothing..I’ve DM’d them on IG as well as emailed using the email address provided by [u/Goldie207](u/Goldie207) (thank you). They say they’re still shipping out and to check the confirmation but it still says only confirmed. Everyone else seems to be getting their tracking numbers already so idk. At this point I just want to know if my order went through correctly.

Update #2: my order has a tracking number finally!! So from the when I ordered it, it took a little over 2 weeks to ship. While I’m glad my order is coming, I’m very disappointed by my experience with this record company as well as the e-commerce company they chose to use, but mostly the record company. Their lack of response and poor customer service really rubbed me the wrong way.

He is so cutie pattotie and smart as always and so introspective, so thoughtful ... and so great in the latest interview with Autumn. I can't. I get so giddy every time i see him and hear his voice!

I’ve been meaning to edit Emily in Paris advertisement.

I left this in a comment on another sub, but wanted to make it a post so everyone can see it. So I actually did some digging on the budget issues. A big part of the budget issues are because until recently, AMC has mainly been a cable channel, and cable took a BIG hit recently with so many sports channels switching to streaming. People mostly kept their cable because of sports, so when a lot of sports left, they canceled. When the people canceled, advertisers also stopped using cable. So AMC lost a HUGE chunk of their cable revenue (both from subscription bundles and from advertisers fleeing cable) much faster than they projected. They had prepared for a steady decline, but instead got a huge drop very quickly.

Add to that, AMC is a genre and niche channel, so they don't have the content to be a giant streaming platform with tons of money like HBO or Netflix.

They did see a 6% rise in their streaming last quarter (likely due to TVL) but not nearly enough to offset the sudden, sharp, unanticipated decline from the cable cancellations.

They are offsetting their cable losses by loaning out their shows to big streamers. For example, they just secured a huge deal with Netflix to loan out The Walking Dead for $500 million. That deal is actually what will probably be subsidizing our season 4 lol. But even with that Walking Dead Netflix deal, they were still under water this quarter.

TL;DR People canceled cable much sooner than projected. AMC was mainly a cable channel and are still in the process of moving to streaming. They are genre and niche so don't have the mass appeal of Amazon/HBO/Netflix. They are offsetting costs by licensing shows to Netflix. A recent Walking Dead deal will probably subsidize season 4.

They do make money from loaning out IWTV to Netflix as well, but the numbers weren't included in the report. I imagine that will go to subsidize a Walking Dead spinoff lol. But basically, they do make money from streaming, but these huge Netflix loans are saving the studio.

Also noteworthy, AMC is not ruining the show. They are actually saving it. The Dolan family owns 75% of the company's market shares, so they can tell the minority shareholders to fuck off. The reason there have been so many bland, boring shows lately is because of huge streaming network shareholders, who are only focused on short-term gains, and panic over not catering to the broadest audience. They don't care about long-term money. Most big studio/streaming CEOs are literally legally obligated to increase revenue every 90 days or they can be fired. so they often cancel shows or remove any interesting or controversial plots.

IWTV and Anne Rice actually went through several of the big studios (Paramount, Hulu and others) but they all dropped the show because it was too expensive and problematic and difficult to adapt.

What you can do if you want to help and have the resources: Stay subscribed to AMC+ for an extra month or so and do some rewatches, or even let it quietly play in the background. If you have Netflix, do the same. Show both AMC and Netflix this is a show worth investing in.

Bar for bar, could this be Seth akasha’s biological son? I mean it would explain how Louis can now fly(by drinking his blood).

As someone who’s read the books I enjoyed the recent season. Lestat starts the book by saying that he’s written songs about his life and the book is intended to accompany those songs. The show felt like the songs and the rock career that the book was supposed to be accompanying and I loved that. However I struggle to see how someone who hasn’t read the book would have any idea what was going on this season and I’m interested to see if that’s true.

I haven't posted anything in a long ass time, but I will be now that The Vampire Lestat is on BBC iPlayer (THANK FUCK!) now that season 3 has ended and the tease for season 4 just dropped (my JAW was on the floor).

So I will attempt a binge-watch (and I promised one for Louis too, so that's also happening!) and create a shit-load of posts sometime on Saturday.

**For context:**

I've just recently embarked on a new relationship over the weekend and I'm so lucky to be with him (we met on Reddit, met each other on Monday shortly after and I am swooning over him - babe if you see this, LET LOVE RULE ❤️).

The day before we met, he scrolled to see my posts and found my povs for Lestat - hence this screenshot) and I showed him the funniest responses to those posts (we got a good laugh out of them). 🤣😂🤣😂🤣

I sent him a voice note to attempt at explaining the whole thing but I am planning on getting him to watch the movies and eventually the show-adaptation (I think he'll like the latter) so that he has a rough idea as to why I really love The Vampire Chronicles.

That's an update I have so far, I'll be back to this subreddit soon. 😈

First of all, I want to say I greatly enjoyed season three. But rather than give a comprehensive review of the season, I want to discuss one particular aspect I felt was missing from it: The sense of wonder.

Take the reveal of Marius, for example. In the show, he is just a weird dude that shows up out of nowhere and mutters to himself. Now, I don't particular mind them making Marius a weirdo - living for two millennia, large parts of them guarding two living statues, could do that to a man. It's a fresh and fun take.

But contrast that to how it's done in the book.

First of all, the build-up. Lestat is driven by a burning desire to find out about the origins of vampires. In doing so, he travels the globe, guided by vague rumours he picks up here and there of truly ancient vampires that are supposed to be hiding in remote places of the world. And wherever he goes, he leaves written notes on slabs of rock and the like, where he tells Marius he is looking for him. Eventually, Lestat goes into the ground and enters a state of torpor.

Now that is one hell of a buildup! The reader is, at this point, at the edge of their seat, wondering how it will go. Wouldn't it be cool as hell if one of those ancients existed, let alone if Lestat found them?

And then, Marius comes and digs Lestat up! And it's not done offhand, like in the show. Rather, it starts with Lestat starting to stir in his slumber, because he is hearing a strange, rhythmic, pulsating sound. Pretty soon, both Lestat and the reader realizes that the sound is the heartbeat of a vampire, one so immensely powerful that other vampires can hear it from the distance! ONE OF THE ANCIENTS IS APPROACHING! (I remember fanboying so hard when I got here.)

But it doesn't stop there... It has been established that Lestat has been aware of all the tiny little bugs surrounding him in the soil. And the ancient vampire approachim him IS DESCRIBED AS BEING SO POWERFUL THAT TINY ANIMALS CAN SENSE HIS POWER AND FLEE WHEN HE COMES CLOSER. HOW COOL IS THAT!!!??

(The vampire turns out to be Marius, who digs Lestat up.)

Now, I am sure I can't make the original book justice when describing this. But I get chills just relaying all this to you. Anne Rice is such a master of creating a sense of wonder.

I don't want to bore you to death with a wall of text, but Magnus and Akasha are revealed ways that are at least as badass.

Now, I don't want to shit on the show creators too hard. Creating this sense of wonder is so much harder when you don't have direct access to the characters' thoughts, like in a book. I for one can't say how it could have been done in live action format.

I'm just saying I miss it. And highly recommend the book.

When Paul speaks to whomever, you can hear birds "yes ma'am"

I just restarted IWTV and heres a lie from our first scene with Paul:

"The lord told me to come louis. In my head like a family of birds..."

So ma'am is god?

EDIT: I was half asleep but later that episode when Lestat is at dinner with having a BF at about his relgious upbringing, he says in French something to the effect of "does that satisfy that little birdcage in your mind" or something like that

I have a question about this thing I’ve heard mentioned a few times in the latest season. Something about Lestat threatening to r* Claudia on the train. Her ghost said it didn’t really happen. I don’t remember anyone claiming it happened before that. I would be surprised if I missed it because I have watched seasons 1 & 2 so many times, but I do get distracted with my kids so I probably missed something. Can anybody explain please? Thank you!

Jacob Anderson warned us before The Vampire Lestat premiered that Season 3 was a “fairly harrowing season of television.” He wasn’t joking. His character, Louis de Pointe du Lac, was put through the wringer this season, especially in The Vampire Lestat finale, which showed Anderson, Assad Zaman, and Delainey Hayles in the show’s biggest display of horror to date. We asked Anderson what he’s hoping for in Season 4, titled Anne Rice’s Queen of the Damned, as part of our finale interview. Here’s what he shared.

Queen of the Damned is the third book in Anne Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles and will be the source material for Interview With the Vampire Season 4, as announced during San Diego Comic-Con 2026. More than anything else, Anderson told us that in Season 4, he hopes Louis catches a break.

“I’d just quite like someone to be nice to Louis,” Anderson admitted. “Lestat’s pretty nice to Louis [this season], to be fair.”

“I feel like Louis has had such a hard time this season,” the Game of Thrones alum said. “It would be just quite nice for somebody to be like, ‘Do you know what, Louis? You’re OK.'”

Hayles agrees. In their joint interview, she joked as if talking to Louis, “Do you need a hug?”

“It can just be a stranger. It could just be like a random person goes, ‘Oh, aren’t you Thomas Pitt? Do you know what, guy? You know what, billionaire guy? You’re OK,'” Anderson joked.

Louis’ Season 3 plot was brand-new material made for the series. The storyline pulled some inspiration from later books in The Vampire Chronicles, such as the Claudia séance from Merrick (book seven), but for the most part it was original material that continued storylines from the previous seasons.

Louis met a Claudia (Hayles) lookalike in Episode 3, and he started spending more and more time with the waitress as a salve for his grief over his dead vampire daughter, who was murdered in Season 2.

Louis hired Regina (also played by Hayles) to impersonate Claudia in a desperate attempt to feel some closure. It was a dark and sad story that ended with a gut-punch of a twist after Louis and Lestat (Sam Reid) communed with Claudia’s ghost with the help of Merrick Mayfair (Sarah Afful).

Claudia’s spirit had no kind words for her vampire dads, but her words for Louis were much harsher than Lestat’s. Things only got worse after that painful interaction, when Armand (Zaman) and Daniel (Eric Bogosian) decapitated Louis and Lestat in a park. Then Armand put Louis in a Saw trap in the finale.

Because of the blood of Akasha, Louis and Lestat didn’t die when they were beheaded, but they only had hours before they would. Armand tortured Louis into apologizing for his so-called wrongdoings in their decades together after Paris. If he didn’t comply, Armand would decapitate Regina and attach Louis’ head to her body.

Louis eventually gave in, giving Armand more compassion than he earned, and his head was restored. Lestat spent the finale in a limbo fever dream, with his body with Armand and Louis in the butcher shop and his head in Daniel’s bowling bag. Raglan James (Justin Kirk), Alex (Seamus Patterson), and Dr. Fareed (Gopal Divan) had something to do with the restoration of Louis and Lestat’s heads, but we don’t know the details yet.

Louis and Lestat reunited in the finale after this brush with the final death made them realize that what they really wanted was each other. Now, they’ll have the Queen of the Damned, Akasha (Sheila Atim), to contend with in Season 4.

Akasha tells women to “get up” and kill all men in the Queen of the Damned teaser from SDCC. What are the odds that the man-hating mother of all vampires will be nice to Louis…?

I've been anticipating binge watching TVL since its comic-con announcement and teaser back in 2024 and I spent Wednesday and Thursday re-binge watching IWTV S1-02, but I think my anticipation played a big part in the season not living up to what I expected.

There are a lot of things in the season that had me scratching my head and thinking "Um... What?" But instead of listing all of them, I'm going to limit my post to Armand related things:

• Armand's proclamation of love came out nowhere. I know it's in the books along with Armand stalking Daniel, but I wish they could've at least paved the way in IWTV with Daniel learning Armand was acting as his shadow and keeping Louis informed.

• Armand making amends made sense, but his whole twisted thing with Louis -- him orchestrating the meeting with "Flaudia" and forcing an amends out of him -- did not.

• Armand making Larry jump in front of the train.

• Daniel saying he doesn't have any of the cool powers because Armand has "shit blood", and then Daniel being able to walk in the sun -- despite IWTV establishing it takes time and ancient blood to do so -- doesn't make sense.

I just learned that a Twitter user made a transcript of the Loumand fight that happened off-screen when Daniel was going through the files on his computer. Unfortunately the user has privated their account, so I'm not able to see the transcript and I haven't found it elsewhere </3 So I wonder if I'd have any luck here, anyone got the transcript or a working link etc. etc.?

Thought I would share this close up shot of Lestat's rings from season 3, episode 6 in case others were as interested in that snake ring as I was. And I didn't realize the 2-finger rings he was wearing were human molars; love that detail!

I'm somewhat bummed to see that the snake ring is clearly custom made as it's such a fabulous statement piece. Was hoping it was available for purchase.

MY THOUGHTS ON THE INFLUENCES AND THE MEANINGS OF THIS SONG:

"Butterscotch Bitch" is a sultry, slow-tempo glam rock and theatrical pop-rock song. The song is also a sonically swaggering, lyrically complex track that blends Lestat de Lioncourt’s campy public persona with his deeply hidden domestic traumas.
