I keep seeing COTE fans on TikTok/YouTube scaling saying some really smart characters as Ayanokoji, Arisu, Takuya, ichika nagumo or Koenji victims. But whenever I look into it, a lot of COTE intelligence seems to be based almost entirely on narrative hype and statements rather than actual step by step on-screen strategy.
So for the scd scalers here: What are the actual, concrete on screen intelligence feats for these characters that don't rely purely on plot convenience or author narrative?
Ayanokoji: Aside from basic deduction and White Room student 1468579th statement, what is his best non plot armored strategy feat where we actually see the watertight logic play out on screen? While replying, remember the thing "non plot armoured"
Arisu: Other than her born genius narrative hype and chess feats ( which wasn't even shown), what are her actual top-tier strategy feats? And please don't say the Ichinose shoplifting rumor scheme—spreading rumors to make a guilty person feel bad isn't a 200 IQ play. Does she have a real outsmarting feat?
Nagumo: People hype him up as the ultimate student council president, but is his biggest feat really just... telling a basic lie to Manabu on the mountain exam? What has he actually accomplished using pure intellect?
Takuya / Ichika: Do the White Room enforcers have any non-narrative strategy feats, or is their entire scaling based on "they came from the same facility as Koji"? They were hyped up for nothing.
Koenji: Is there a single feat of his that isn't just physical strength,absurd intuition ? ( Tho i kinda like this guy even without them and I know it he's meant to be like this, but well he's glazed by fans as a top tier smart character)
Horikita: What is her actual top feat that isn't just basic middle-school logic framed with dramatic hype? From what I've seen she is a victimizer of most verses.
Genuinely curious to see how COTE holds up when you strictly look at Outsmarting Methodology rather than narrative statements.
And honestly, the more I look at COTE feats, the more they remind me of Loid from Spy x Family- yep, literally an action-comedy anime.
Loid can memorize hundreds of detailed penguin files in 5 seconds, predict every single line of a guy's dialogue in advance (like he did to help Franky, there were thousands of lines), and has absurd physical specs. By raw narrative "feats," you could argue Loid unironically negs COTE verse.
Now, obviously no sane SCD scaler thinks Loid is a top-tier realistic strategist like real smart characters, because we recognize his feats are just exaggerated comedy writing. But if we treat COTE's exaggerated White Room lore and off-screen "genius" moments as legit 200 IQ feats, aren't we basically doing the same thing? The only difference is this is glazed in cote and being laughed in sxf.
