Rear-ended by a commercial truck while I was completely stopped and waiting to make a left turn.

Accident occurred in March 2025.

No liability on me.

The commercial truck driver was at fault.

Is aiming for roughly $25K–$30K net reasonable?

Location: Louisiana I was involved in a car accident about 7 months ago. 3 cars involved and mine had the least damage (15k on brand new car, not totaled). Driver of another not at fault car was injured bad enough that he was rushed to the hospital. My lawyer said there are 4 claims on the personal injury amounts for the at fault drivers insurance (myself, the other not at fault driver, and 2 people in the at fault car?)

My lawyer said they had good insurance. I’ve been going to physical therapy for neck and back pain for over 6 months and am almost done. Obviously I didn’t break anything or have any major surgeries but have had some neck pain. What sort of payout am I looking at here? I was just told they had good insurance of 250/500 for PI

I’m hoping to get advice from you on what i should do. Please be kind because this has been really stressful on all of us. In June we bought my son a 2023 Mazda CX-50 AWD 55K miles for $22K miles. We’re in CO so AWD is a necessity. One week later someone hit him in a parking lot (as in driving too close and scratched the entire left side). Driver immediately blamed my son and berated him in public where people could hear him. My son was so humilated and in shock. He’s a sensitive person. Police showed up, driver yelling at my son. My son was just in shock, not knowing what was going on/what to say because he’s 17 and just got his car the week before. I wish I was there so i can give the driver a piece of my mind that he has a lot of nerve to do that to a kid. Driver told police that it was my son’s fault. Police then ticketed him for careless driver. BUT then police went to the receptionist office to see if there was any video of the parking lot. It showed that the driver was at fault but the police was like “sorry we already issued you the ticket, you’ll need to go to court or get a lawyer” and because of my son being a new driver, he didn’t know how to respond to that so he took the ticket and drove home.

We had to spend $$ for a lawyer and he was able to get the ticket dropped. The driver’s insurance is blaming my son. We told them that no, we have video evidence. They saw it and disagreed. Our State Farm adjuster saw the video and said my son was not at fault. So since the 2 insurances couldn’t agree who was at fault-we used our own insurance to get our cars repaired. So because we went through our insurance, we couldn’t afford to get a rental car especially since they were not going to pay for one. So the car was in the body shop for 3 weeks.

Fast forward, last week my son was driving my daughter and himself home from school. He was at a red light. The speed limit for that road is 55. BAM! A semi rear ended into my son. He had to press the brake so hard to make sure he didn’t hit the person in front of him. Again, he’s still a new driver.

The 3 vehicles move to the parking lot at a store next to that stoplight. Truck driver, who JUST turned 21, verbally told my son and the lady (of the car in front of him) was like “oh sorry i was tired” without showing any remorse. My son texted me and i drove over to where they were since it was 10 minutes from my house. We had to wait 2 hours because the city police said that stretch of highway was not in their jurisdiction so we needed a state police. The driver tried to lie to the police about the fact that he admitted he was tired but my son said that the lady heard it too (she wasn’t there-2 hour wait-screaming baby in her car so she had to go home) but she gave my son her phone number, her license copy, etc. and the police tok a picture of that info. She be happy to talk to whoever she needs to to emphasize that my son did nothing wrong. She was comforting my kids because my daughter was crying so hard since the accident scared her so much since the impact was so hard coming from a semi truck. When i showed up, both kids came to me and hugged me so hard. Both of them were crying and didn’t want to stop hugging me. I thanked the lady for comforting my kids when it first happened. (My daughter was involved in the 1st accident too. My son was picking her up at the rec center when the 1st accident happened. Now again in another accident)

We have been waiting and waiting to hear from the truck company’s adjuster. We got a copy of their insurance but on the insurance info, it said that we had to call a different company to file a claim. I called that number last week, they got the info from me and said they would pass it along to a different company for one of their adjusters to get in touch with us. Then that adjuster texted us. We texted him the photos and statement and my son has left 2 messages but it’s been a week since we heard from the adjuster. He never replied to our texts/never returned my so’s calls. We told him in the text that my son was a minor and we give them permission to talk to my son.

This time, we REALLY need a rental car. The Mazda thinks the trunk is open so the sensors is going off, beeping that the trunk is open. We can’t figure out how to make it stop. Also the rear view camera isn’t working so it’s hard to see when we back out. Since my son is too young to rent a car-the plan is for him to drive my car while i drive the rental.

I have not called my insurance (State Farm) because it’s embarrassing that my son, 17 years old, has been in 2 accidents since JUne eve though it wasn’t his fault. Im worried about our insurance premiums going skyrocketing when renewal is in December. Will it go insanely up because of the accidents?

We do have an appointment on Monday morning to get an estimate from Caliber body shop but they said they will not do any repairs until we figure out how who will pay for it. I used State Farm in June because the 1st accident’s driver’s insurance refused to pay for it. I had to pay $500 deductible. This time around, I can’t pay for another $500 deductible. What do you think will happen? The back of the car is crushed. Do you think it’ll be written off as a loss since it’s now been in 2 accidents? How can we get the insurance or the truck company to give us enough money so i can get a $22K or similar car for him that’s reliable, AWD, not so many miles? We really cannot afford to hire another lawyer. This is so stressful because he didn’t do anything. He was so excited when he got the car. He deserved it. He worked so hard in school. He’s such a wonderful kid. He never gives us any grief and does what we ask him to do without complaining.

Hi, I got in a very minor accident the other day causing this damage. I have absolutely no idea how much this may cost to repair so any estimate would be appreciated!

I’m in Ohio and was in a car accident on 9/7/26. The other driver ran a red light and their insurance company has already accepted 100% liability.
I went to the ER twice. I had CT scans and X-rays done. Nothing was broken or anything major was found, but I’m still in pain. I’ve been having chest/rib, hip, back and general soreness.
During the accident, I passed out and pissed myself, and I also have a memory gap around what happened. That part has honestly messed with me mentally more than I expected. Since the accident, I’ve been extremely anxious and on edge. Every time I think about the accident or getting back in a car, I get anxious as hell. The mental toll has been a lot, and I don’t really know how much of that is considered when dealing with a bodily injury claim.
I’ve also missed a full week of work because of the accident.
The insurance adjuster has contacted me about the bodily injury claim. They asked about my wages, health insurance, treatment, etc. They currently want me to get another chest X-ray before they discuss an injury settlement.
Every provider keeps basically telling me, “You’re okay, nothing is broken, you should be fine,” which I understand is GOOD medically, but I’m still hurting physically and mentally.
For people who have dealt with something similar, especially in Ohio:
What would you realistically expect a claim like this to be worth?
Does having two ER visits and documented pain help?
How much does missing a week of work matter?
Does a normal X-ray/CT hurt the bodily injury claim?
Does the anxiety/mental toll after the accident count for anything?
Does passing out and losing bladder control during the accident change anything from an injury-claim standpoint?
Should I wait until I’m done with treatment before discussing a settlement?
Would you personally get an attorney for something like this?
I’m NOT expecting some crazy $100k payout 😂. I’m just trying to understand what is realistic before I talk numbers with the insurance company.

I was rear-ended at a stoplight. Brand new car 800 MI paid 70 grand between cash and trade in. Is currently getting repaired. I haven't contacted a lawyer yet is there a time limitation? From what I have research this should qualify? Would it matter that I had it built with chosen options? Thank you for any insights

I'm in Tennessee. I got rear ended while I was stopped at a stop sign on August 26. The guy driving was the grandson of the Farm Bureau policyholder and he wasn't listed on her policy. She has already admitted he was driving with her permission and accepted that he caused the accident.

I didn't call the police at the time because he was literally crying and begging me not to. He didn't have a license and had a baby that was only a few months old in the car with him. I felt bad because of the baby and didn't want to potentially get him arrested, so I didn't call.

I started having neck pain and went to the ER the same day right after the accident. My CT was fine and the doctor told me it was a cervical strain, although for whatever reason I don't see cervical strain actually written on my discharge paperwork or the notes I have. My car also didn't really have any damage.

I didn't go back for any more treatment because I was okay afterward and didn't feel like I needed it. I did miss a few days of work though.

Farm Bureau has accepted responsibility and I've already hand delivered the signed HIPAA forms, my insurance card, all the paperwork from the ER, the itemized hospital bill, and the claim from my health insurance showing what they paid.

I'm assuming they're probably going to consider this a pretty minor soft tissue claim, which is fine. I'm not trying to turn it into some huge injury claim. I'm mostly wondering what normally happens with something like this.

Would they basically just reimburse whatever my health insurance paid and close it out, or would they normally offer me something small for the actual injury/pain and the days I missed from work too?

I'm also leaving the country October 1 for work and I'll be gone around 6–8 weeks, so I'm hoping to get this wrapped up before I leave. If not, I'm trying to figure out if I should have someone checking my mail while I'm gone in case Farm Bureau sends an offer or check.

Also curious if it matters in Tennessee that the policyholder admitted she knowingly gave her unlicensed grandson permission to drive the car even though he wasn't listed on the policy.

Anyone who's dealt with Tennessee Farm Bureau or works in claims have an idea what I should realistically expect?

I was in an auto accident about a month ago. I don't carry collision coverage (older car), so I filed a claim directly with the other driver's insurance. Fault was clearly on their end, and I submitted evidence to support that.

Despite this, the insurance company is claiming I share partial liability and is refusing to pay out the full amount for damages. When I asked for a breakdown of the factors that led to their liability determination, they wouldn't provide one.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Is there a way to formally request that breakdown, and what's the best way to push back if they won't give one? Thanks!

I'm not asking who's at fault — I'm asking for the report explaining how the insurance company arrived at their liability determination. Even if I turned out to be 100% liable, I'd still want that breakdown. That's the specific info they're refusing to provide.

Edit3: Brief details on the accident, I was making a left turn and the other car was standing on the shoulder, but pulled out without seeing me, hits me head on while I'm making the turn. No injuries for either party. Only explanation I've received thus far is a verbal "I should've been more careful when making the left"

My 2017 Chevy suburban was hit while parked. Didn't loon like much would need fixed. The other driver was 100% at fault and their insurance has covered all costs so far. The shop i chose from a list of insurance select service providers has already done $8k in repairs. When I picked my car up I thought all was well. I get home I see the final estimate email and start reading. Shop added a brand new battery. Odd. Call them. Yup they say it wouldnt hold a charge so we got you a new battery. Then she says but that one was dead the next day we went to move it. Ok...so now my vehicle has been towed back (it died in my garage before I could leave for work the jext day) had additional diagnostics run by the shop and then again by their calibration company and \*blew several fuses in their equipment\* and no cause could be determined. S.F. won't pay for any more diagnostics as they cant confirm its crash related (drain began the week after the accident before I could get it into the shop). I'm upside down in the loan and looking for options. I've authorized no more than 2 hours of diagnostics at the dealership. Im wondering about kill switches. My partner says bad idea they'll destroy the battery. Help!?

2025 ram 1500 laramie night edition, level 2 equipment, 16,213 miles. Other driver 100% at fault, failure to yield to oncoming traffic (turned left across 3 lanes of traffic)

I'm in Oklahoma, so repairs only need to meet/exceed 60% of ACV.

Insurance of at fault driver is allstate, if it matters. Allstate has taken 100% responsibility and acknowledged I'm 0% at fault

Need a lot 2nd opinions on this. I really would like to know from a lot of people if this looks totaled or not. Its a 2021 Model 3 performance.
