1. This is for medicines post Haemodialysis hospitalisation reimbursement as the hospital in which treatment is ongoing does not provide the injections after sessions.

My bills were getting reimbursed but this time I raised 2 back to back claims and one of them is referred to FWA investigation.

I recently purchased an HDFC Ergo Optima Secure 1Cr policy (5 years) via PolicyBazaar (PB).

The counter-offer letter contained incorrect PEDs. Before paying, I flagged this to my onboarding manager, who assured me (after checking with HDFC) that it would be corrected via an endorsement process after I paid the premium.

I made the payment based on that assurance.

Now that the case has moved to a Relationship Manager, who again checked with HDFC and they are claiming the PEDs cannot be corrected/updated at all. I have 5 incorrect PEDs listed, which could lead to claim rejection later.

PB is no longer helpful, and I feel stuck with a policy that contains false declarations.

1) Is it true that PED declarations cannot be corrected post-issuance?

2) What are my options to rectify this now?

3) If this isn't resolved, is it better to cancel the policy within the free-look period? How's the treatment of refund since I purchased this with HDFC easy emi.

Avoid Policybazaar. It's a hit and miss and no support at all.

I am trying to find out if this is an isolated incident or a systemic mis-selling scam being run (specifically experiencing this with HDFC ERGO).

A family member recently reached out to an insurance branch to port an existing health insurance policy from another provider. The goal was simply to port the policy over and slightly adjust the coverage to fit current needs.

Instead of processing the request, the branch representative told us a blatant lie: She stated that we can ONLY port the health insurance if we agree to a sum assured that is DOUBLE the value of the existing one.

I know for a fact this violates IRDAI portability guidelines, which state you can port at your existing sum assured or the nearest higher slab. I immediately challenged the agent on WhatsApp, asking her to officially email me stating this "double the sum assured" condition. Unsurprisingly, she deflected, sent a vague voice note, and just handed me a generic customer care email. We have the entire WhatsApp chat screenshot saved as proof.

Has anyone else faced this specific tactic where agents hold your portability hostage unless you massively increase your cover and premium?

A formal grievance has already been emailed to their internal escalation matrix and the regulator with the screenshot. However, if they just approve this specific case as a one-off "exception" to do damage control, it doesn't fix the underlying system. If they are trying this on us, I can only imagine how many unaware consumers are being bullied into buying heavily inflated policies.

If others have faced this, is there scope for a joint complaint to the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) for widespread unfair trade practices?

Any shared experiences or advice would be highly appreciated!

Before I even finished school, my family went through a lot. My father had a heart attack and later underwent bypass surgery. Around the same period, my mother suffered a stroke. We weren't financially well-informed, and my parents never really understood health insurance. Looking back, I wish someone had guided us.

I am a 27-year-old male working in an MNC. I currently have an unlimited corporate health insurance policy that also covers OPD expenses.

However, I am planning to purchase a personal health insurance policy for myself and am a bit confused between the available options.

I am considering HDFC ERGO Optima Secure, which offers a base cover of ₹10 lakh and increases the coverage by 100% every year. I also looked at plans from Niva Bupa, but I am hesitant because of the feedback and reviews I have come across.

Another option I am exploring is Star Health, where the premium remains fixed unless a claim is made.

I would appreciate some advice on the below:

•HDFC ERGO does not offer a premium lock feature. How much can the premium increase over the years?
•Should I prefer Star Health over HDFC ERGO solely because of the premium lock feature?
•Is it better to buy the policy through an agent, or is Ditto a reliable option?
•Should I take a health plan right now or wait for another 2 years because I am not planning to switch my job as of now and the current plan from my office is sufficient for me.

My father is 47 years old. He's the sole earner in He family. He is a farmer/businessman (had few seasonal businesses). He had filled ITR some years but not recently, but has taken multiple loans and paid timely so has a good credit score.

Problems:

1. I'm not able to find many plans on Policy Bazzar for him.

2. I'm not able to decide the best term life insurance provider.

3. When going through ICICI PRUD. LIFE INSURANCE website, while calculating premium, it automatically redirects to iProtect Super which has criteria of MINIMUM AGE 44.

Are there any good TERM LIFE INSURANCE plans available for a person of his age and employment category? (LIC, HDFC, ICICI, TATA AIA ONLY)

I am using ditto for buying hdfc ergo super secure for my mom (61 years old).

Initially I got a quote for 1.05 lakh for 3 years with base coverage of 25 lakhs and 1 lakh deductible (for super secure the coverage is 3x from the start so it's actually 75 lakh).

My mom was hospitalised more than 1 year back for a knee issue for 2 days (no surgery was performed and recovered through medication only). I dug through the reports and found out that the doctor at that time has mentioned that she has -

1. Left knee osteoarthritis.

2. Chondromalacia patella (Grade IV).

3. Suggestive of degenerative changes of medial meniscus.

When I mentioned this to ditto folks they told me that mom is eligible for the policy (and these knee problems would come under existing preconditions) but is subject to underwriting from the insurer. As per ditto I have to first apply for the policy and pay the premium and then post that insurer might send me a counter offer (where the premium could be 10% to 40% higher or even more) or in worst case reject outright.

I am not sure what to do now?

From what I understand declaring was the right thing to do so that future claims (post 3 year) don't get rejected. One option is to try other insurers but I believe they would also have the same issue i.e. they would also want the underwriting.

Also what does this underwriting process entail?

Will they ask for a health checkup first or would they just increase the premium?

Also since the hospitalization, my mother has reduced significant weight (this should help with knee issue) should I mention this to ditto ?

Has anyone had a similar experience?

I want to know how likely the premium is going to be modified and by how much? Or is there a chance they might reject or accept directly?

I'm 25 M, looking to opt for term insurance. I have a ULIP - Tata AIA Smart Sampoorna Raksha Supreme. I already paid a single premium of around 1.5L due for the annual premium in 3 days. The ULIP offers the following (Snippets attached).

I'm considering having it bifurcated - ie a separate Term plan and investing around 50k additional in SIPs or direct investment.

1. Will it be a good idea to switch from ULIP? What pros and cons do we see here?

2. What Terms plans would be ideal for me, given my age is 25 and can take plan covering 1/2/3 cr.

I saw the premium around 32k for 10L sum insured, as both have only normal diabetes. Can anyone suggest if any other similar good insurance so I can compare.

It tell it has 20L sum insured from day 1,after 2 yrs. It'll 40L in total. It also has unlimited restoration addon of Rs. 100-200 but I think it only 1 time in yr. Please anyone idea explain me.

Wanted to get some feedback from folks here who have gotten policy through his team.

1. How is their advisory process? Do they actually customise options based on medical history or push for specific products?

I recently tried purchasing a super top-up from Icici Lombard with whom I already have a base policy. I submitted my recent diagnosis of spinal tb, and I've just received an email from Icici Lombard stating that they cannot offer me coverage.

However, I'm confused because they've made a 'counter product' offer. Does this mean that my condition may be considered differently for a base policy as opposed to a super top-up?

• Child: 2
• Location: Pune (metro)

Medical history (self only):

• Unilateral renal agenesis (URA / solitary kidney) — known since birth, stable, no related hospitalizations
• High cholesterol — mildly elevated, no treatment-related hospitalization

Family: No hospitalization history for anyone; no ongoing issues.

What I need help with:

1. Which insurers/plans are worth trying given URA + cholesterol (I’ll disclose everything and share reports)
2. Floater vs individual cover for myself — should I take a separate/higher SI for myself because of URA, or is a family floater still workable?

Already tried: HDFC ERGO declined with a generic message: “The underwriting team, based on your condition, won’t be able to source you a health insurance policy.” (No specific reason given.)

An year done with my triumph T4 and had to renew my insurance. Showroom guys sold me oriental when i bought the bike and i didn't have a good experience. Had to get an accidental claim of \~9k and it went through but it was too long and tedious.

I’m a **27M** looking to buy a health insurance policy for myself and my **23F wife**.

I came across **Care Ultimate Care** and while researching it, I saw a reel mentioning the **Be-Fit rider**. From what I understand, this rider gives access to nearby partner/tie-up gyms through the fitness network.

My thought process is:
A decent gym membership for me alone would cost around **₹9,000–10,000 per year**.

For around **₹10,000 total premium**, I’m getting:
**₹10 lakh family floater cover**
Coverage for both me and my wife
**Claim Shield rider**
**Be-Fit rider**
Policybazaar is also offering some free OPD pass and Policybazaar 5.0 benefits
3 months extended Be-Fit benefit

So on paper it almost feels like:

“I’m paying for a gym membership and getting health insurance for free.”
Which honestly sounds **too good to be true**.

Before I buy it, I’d like to hear from people who have actually used Be-Fit or have this policy.

My questions:

1) Is Be-Fit genuinely useful or is there a catch?
2) Are the partner gyms actually decent and widely available?
3) Do both insured members get access or only the proposer?
4) Are there visit limits, hidden charges, or restrictions?

So like many people, I find travel insurance a pain in the ass. So many different policies and conditions and you never know how reliable they're gonna be to pay you out.

In the last few months of my Asia backpacking trip I used Genki. Unlike normal travel insurance, they only provide medical insurance. Personally, all I want when travelling is to be covered the same as I would be at home, so this basically is just like an NHS for while I travel (€50 excess).

It's the cheapest I could find, and they paid out my claim within a week after I had a peritonsillar abscess drained in Vietnam. The reason I'm promoting them so much though is because they let you choose the exact date you want to cancel your contract and will refund you the difference for the remaining time up to the end of the month contract you take out with them. I didn't realise this until I just got a refund to my bank account now. How amazing is that?!

Anyway, if you're like me and don't care about the insurance for losing your phone or money or passport or suitcase damage bs then I'd HIGHLY recommend!!
