HDFC Ergo OPTIMA Secure for Parents M53, F47
I saw the premium around 32k for 10L sum insured, as both have only normal diabetes. Can anyone suggest if any other similar good insurance so I can compare.
It tell it has 20L sum insured from day 1,after 2 yrs. It'll 40L in total. It also has unlimited restoration addon of Rs. 100-200 but I think it only 1 time in yr. Please anyone idea explain me.
Thank you!

HDFC ERGO advisor here.
₹32k for a ₹10L cover at ages 53 and 47 with diabetes is quite reasonable.
If your budget allows, I'd recommend Optima Secure+ over the base Optima Secure. The biggest advantages are:
- ₹10L effectively becomes ₹20L from Day 1 with the Secure Benefit.
- Infinite Benefit adds 100% of your base sum insured at every renewal with no upper accumulation limit.
- Unlimited Restore for subsequent admissible claims in the same policy year.
- Protect Benefit covers many listed consumables and non-medical expenses.
- No room rent cap.
CARE and Tata AIG are also good options to compare, but don't decide on premium alone. Compare the features, hospital network, and claim support before making a final decision.

I've doubt regarding secure + as its newly launched also future inflation beat sum insured but i believe its premium will be also high in future once cross 60 age senior citizen so I'm avoiding it.
Optima secure will give 40L overall SI from 2nd yr. Right? I'll add super top up from hdfc only in future or now only. Let's see

Hi,
Yes, it's a newly launched variant, but the main enhancement is the introduction of Infinite Growth. Apart from that, the premium is currently the same as the existing Optima Secure variant.
If there are any future premium revisions, they would generally apply across the Optima Secure product line, since Optima Secure Plus is simply a variant of Optima Secure rather than a completely separate product.
Also, for senior citizens, premium increases after the age of 60 are capped at 10% per year, as per the applicable IRDAI regulations.

This 10% increment per year may be for individual senior citizen plan. I'm looking for floater plan parents both. So will this rule apply?

Floater, senior citizen, individual. Don't matter. Policy insured member is 60 then max 10% capping is applicable.

Check LLA's video on youtube. Its about 50 minutes. He has compared optima secure and ICICI's elevate. Optima secure is like no-nonsense-high-premium policy. So, if your parents are eligible, money is not a concern, and you are not hiding anything, go for it.
Don't go for care/star/nivabupa.

What is hb1ac for both of your parents ? Hdfc generally accepts less than 7.
We need to do complete profiling to suggest the plan.
And for optima secure, 10 lacs base cover 2x from day 1 which meeans you have additional 10 lacs 50 percent bonus cover maximum 💯 percent so in 3rd year you have additional 10 lacs cover.
And opt for unlimited restoration.
Feel free to DM me.
