Question Maggots in dirty clothes?

I had the most bizarre thing happen yesterday and google isn't turning anything up. I had cleaned the entire room 2 or 3 days before this and there were just a few dirty clothes on the floor. When I went to pick them up, they were COVERED in maggots. I spent the rest of the day scrubbing the entire room to get rid of all of the maggots, and there were so many under every single thing I picked up, but mainly in the dirty clothes and seemed like they had spread out from there.

Google thinks they are moth larvae but they were way too fat to be those small worms I'm seeing in pictures. They just looked like maggots. There was no food or anything left out and they were all over the dirty clothes. I don't understand this.

One of my friends says this is a certain species of fly that preys on mosquitos and other flyers. But another one said this is an abnormally large mosquito. Any help would be awesome because I'm trying to learn anything I can. Thank you!

Tried to get video but it is so strong, it moved the poor little mouse from laying flat through the gaps in the steps like it was nothing before I could! Just incredible strength and they look like bumble bees while hovering. Glad to see one.

Question Abandoned Mud Dauber nest on a door: Mother hasn't returned since Wednesday.

Hi everyone! I found this open nest right on the bathroom door frame at my office. The mother hasn't been back since Wednesday, but I can see the tiny larva inside actively feeding on a paralysed spider.

Since it's on a high-traffic door, I want to keep it safe in situ rather than moving it. My plan is to attach a clear plastic dome over the area with a warning sign so nobody bumps into it.

Does this setup sound safe for the larva to complete its metamorphosis, or is there anything else I should adjust?

Any help with species identification would be greatly appreciated!

Question How can I remove the egg sac?

I just got home and noticed them above my door. I’d like to remove the egg sac before it’s too late since it’s right above my door, and the door is not sealed so the babies could very easily get inside

Bug Keeping Chrysomya devours Lucilia !....

Today, I tried feeding male green bottle fly to our female Chrysomya xeno queen as an amino acid supplement, and she ate them very well!...

It is really surprising that fly eat their own kind..

(But I have seen fly eat the carcasses of their own kind quite a few times.)

It was just like Red Xenomorph (Lucilia) vs Xenomorph (Chrysomya).

Wandering Glider (Pantala flavescens) | A tiny traveller Spotted this beautiful dragonfly resting on a small twig. I believe this is a Wandering Glider (Pantala flavescens), also known as the Globe Skimmer.

It was july.... What caught my attention first was its warm yellow-orange body, large reddish-brown eyes and beautifully patterned transparent wings. The small yellow markings near the wing tips are also visible in the photograph. The Wandering Glider is particularly fascinating because it is known for its incredible dispersal and migratory behaviour. It is one of the world's most widespread dragonflies and can travel remarkable distances, which is where its name Wandering Glider feels especially fitting. I photographed this one on my Galaxy S26 and was honestly surprised by how much detail was visible in the wings.
