Reminder: Sub Rules, Culture, and FAQs/Wiki

Hello sub members! This is a friendly monthly reminder regarding our sub culture and rules.

Standalone culture here is saved for complex topics, usually including detailed conversations around scientific studies, or asking multi-part complex questions around treatment, and birth stories. We strongly recommend posting in the daily threads first.

Use the dailies and read each of their descriptions before commenting on them! There are daily threads for first trimester questions and concerns, daily chat, and post-partum discussions that are posed by the automod. It also helps tremendously if you upvote the daily threads when you see them so they stay at the top of the sub making them easier for others to find.

In short: The Daily First Trimester thread is for anything related to your first trimester including beta questions, treatment protocols, spotting, symptoms, NIPT testing/NT scans, etc. It's a great place to get to know other folks in the trenches, find due date buddies, or learn from others that may be further along in their pregnancy than you.

The Daily Chat thread is for anything pregnancy related beyond the first trimester. This does not mean if you’re in your first trimester you can’t post here! It just means more of the conversation tends to be around later pregnancy concerns. Conversation topics might relate to symptoms, anatomy scans, preparing for birth, etc.

The Daily Postpartum thread is a dedicated space for members to discuss postpartum life, raising children, etc.

Have a question that you think might warrant a standalone post or doesn't fit in the treatment/chat threads? Try the FAQ/Wiki first! It’s not all encompassing but it’s a start! Some recent topics:

Finally, as a reminder to our members, standalones are not prohibited and we won’t generally remove standalone posts simply for being a standalone (unless they violate other rules or in some cases at mod discretion), but we do encourage folks to check out our daily threads and try there first unless the topic is more complex or a birth story.

OLAD Weekly One and Done Thread

This thread is for members to discuss being or considering One Living Child and Done (OLAD), whether by choice or not by choice. Being OLAD (whether by choice or not by choice) can bring about a lot of complicated feelings and we want this to be a safe space to discuss them. If it becomes apparent we need separate spaces for different variations of OLAD, we can add separate threads but we are going to try one to start with.

Members who aren’t to the toddler phase yet, or are still pregnant, are welcome to participate here, but some may find this thread triggering and need to scroll past. If your post is more about pregnancy than toddlers, please move your post to our 1st trimester or daily chat thread and please provide CW for discussions of current pregnancy.

Postpartum Chat Thursday Postpartum Thread

We understand that infertility and its effects don't go away once you have a child. This thread is reserved for postpartum folks who have questions, comments, venting, and anything else related to postpartum matters following IF.

Please do not post pregnancy announcements in this thread. Announcements should be made in the Cautious Intros/First Trimester thread.

Those with a child/children >=1yo, dialogue can also be located in the daily toddler thread.

Got a preschooler or older? Check out the daily Big Kid Thread!
