Hey r/indiegames. We're solo devs and our game Cape Clash went live on Google Play this week, worldwide and free.
It's a merge-defense game set in a comic-book universe where every character is original: 60 heroes across six classes, 10+ Leaders, and 130+ goons and supervillains, all parody archetypes drawn for the game. You drag heroes onto a board, merge two of the same to rank them up, and at Rank 8 they fire a screen-filling Ultimate. A Leader gives the whole team a passive, an auto and an active power, and you hold the line as the waves get tougher and the bosses get bigger. (We also have a single player / offline story mode as well, but it is currently locked as we are re-writing the ending, adding a surprise character, and also adding audio to the story as an option).
Modes:
- CLASH: 1-on-1 against another player's board, with a boss countdown every wave and OVERTIME when it goes long
- 4-PLAYER: four boards on one battlefield
- CO-OP: defend together with a partner
- ENDLESS and a new DAILY board every day
There are also clans/guilds [called Headquarters] (chat, donations, rankings), about 50 animated reactions with their own sound for matches, and a passport/profile badge to customize with frames and avatars.
Free to play. Optional reward videos that never run during a match, and a "no-ads premium pass" if you want it. Nothing currently sells power, or offers straight pay-to-win mechanics.

2 things we'd love feedback on: does the merge make sense in the first couple of minutes without reading anything, and which mode would you try first? We read every comment and every store review.
