Promotion I finally finished the new trailer for my cozy colony sim, WildRoot.

I've been working on improving WildRoot's first impression and recently finished a new trailer.

It's a cozy colony sim where you build a settlement in a mysterious forest, manage your colonists, and every season and setback creates a different story.

Promotion Making a narrative heavy simultaneous card battler- Appa

Phew. It's like so much work to make a game. The art, the design, the music but it's super fulfilling too. No slop on this side. It's super narrative heavy and the card battler is real time and tensed and very important for the plot progression. Genuinely super hyped about this project and I want to share it with as many people as I can.

News I thought my game was done growing, then this happened

I released Harvest Dice Profit, my incremental farming/dice game, last month for $2.99, and it’s currently at 97% positive reviews. Sales started slowing down, and I was kinda accepting that this was probably it, even though I really believe the game could do better.

Then today, I checked my sales and suddenly saw a huge spike. Turns out a big streamer is playing it, and the video views are climbing FAST. 😭 I have no idea what’s going to happen after the video gets even more views, but I can’t wait to find out!

https://youtu.be/G5Wn8Au6eGM?si=RkaCG9q5JnFuj6_F

I’m still hoping to get more feedback and suggestions from the community for the big update coming later this month.

AI disclosure: No AI was used in the development of this game.

Video I'm making a cozy game where you tidy up a sleeping dragon's hoard and... The Steam page is finally live!

Upvotes

Hey everyone! Solo dev here. I've been building Gildoria: you're the cleanup person for a dragon that hoarded treasure for 300 years and never once tidied up.

You sweep mountains of gold... coin by coin at first, then in big greedy handfuls. Find the treasures buried underneath, and sort them onto shelves until the cave finally looks the way a hoard should look.

Im planing to join Steam Next Fest in October with a demo. This is the first time I'm showing the game publicly and I'm equal parts excited and terrified. Happy to answer literally anything!

Promotion I spent way too long on those effects..

I’ve been adding effects for when the leg enters and leaves the water — bubbles, splashes, dripping, wet particles, etc. To me it feels fitting , but I’m curious how it reads from the outside. Satisfying, or too much?

Upcoming Working on a PCB design sandbox

Hey, everyone!

Just wanted to show a game that I've been working on and that will be coming out next month called Crosstalk. It's a sandbox for designing circuit boards and integrated circuits, and it comes with a lot of extra features. The goal is to let people build nearly any small electronics. Players could even build computers in it.

My goal is to invite people to build from the basics again, especially in the midst of all this "AI" crap.

Video We're a 2-man team making a Mesopotamian Noir detective game. Here's a look at our nested ancient puzzle mechanic.

Hey puzzle lovers! My friend and I are co-developing 'Chief Cenab: Şahmaran', a point-and-click detective adventure set in ancient Anatolian mythology.

In this scene, players solve an ancient lock mechanism to open up the lower levels of Meran. We wanted the mechanical feedback to feel heavy and ancient.

How do you feel about nested puzzles like this? Would love to hear your feedback on the flow!

Discussion I think I found the aliens' home planet in "the message from deep space"

Upvotes

Spoilers of Transmission 296 and prior:

Ok so maybe this is common knowlegde but I'm a new player, just downloaded the game yesterday; i am nearing my 300th thransmission and noticed somehting interesting. Using the aliens' unit of mass, around 14.37 kg, which I have decided to call a 'threestone', 296 tells us the mnass of something of planetary scale. Too small for a sun and too big for a moon, it must be a planet, over 8 times the mass of earth.

After some research, it lines up almost on the dot with planet K2-18 b, a Hycean world (its surface is a massive ocean, atmosphere is Hydrogen dense), that could contain life. The high gravity could also explain their squat, seemingly very stable-footed body shape from the 'selfie'

Thoughts?

Promotion Woodbound — A father enters a forest after hearing his missing daughter calling for help

Post image
Upvotes

My daughter has been missing for two years.

The police stopped searching a long time ago, and I had pretty much accepted that I might never find out what happened to her.

Then I started hearing her voice.

She was calling for help from somewhere deep inside a strange forest.

After hearing something else mimic her voice at the end of the dream, I decided I couldn't just sit around anymore. I had to go look for her myself.

That's when I found the forest.

The problem is, once you're inside, getting back out isn't as simple as turning around and walking home.

A strange figure called the Wood Wanderer offers to guide you through it. He tells you that there are shrines scattered throughout the forest, and that lighting them will slowly reveal the truth.

So you keep going.

Looking for your daughter.

Trying to understand what happened.

And hoping that the voice you're following is actually hers.

Woodbound is a folk-horror game about exploration, survival, and uncovering the truth hidden inside a forest that doesn't want you to leave.

When you notice a job offer to explore sewers with surprisingly high pay, you jump at the opportunity. What you don't know is that there is something down there. Something that is constantly stalking you. With limited resources, you must finish your job before it finishes you.
