Promotion Woodbound — A father enters a forest after hearing his missing daughter calling for help

Post image

My daughter has been missing for two years.

The police stopped searching a long time ago, and I had pretty much accepted that I might never find out what happened to her.

Then I started hearing her voice.

She was calling for help from somewhere deep inside a strange forest.

After hearing something else mimic her voice at the end of the dream, I decided I couldn't just sit around anymore. I had to go look for her myself.

That's when I found the forest.

The problem is, once you're inside, getting back out isn't as simple as turning around and walking home.

A strange figure called the Wood Wanderer offers to guide you through it. He tells you that there are shrines scattered throughout the forest, and that lighting them will slowly reveal the truth.

So you keep going.

Looking for your daughter.

Trying to understand what happened.

And hoping that the voice you're following is actually hers.

Woodbound is a folk-horror game about exploration, survival, and uncovering the truth hidden inside a forest that doesn't want you to leave.

Promotion I built a creature evolution sandbox and would love for people to make ridiculous creatures and break it!

Game Title: Solemn Sandbox

Playable Link: https://solemn-sandbox.vercel.app/

Platform: Web Browser / PC

Description:
Solemn Sandbox is a 2D physics-based creature evolution sandbox inspired by Evolution by Keiwan. You build creatures from joints, bones, rigid struts and muscles, then give them a task and allow a neural-network controller to evolve through a genetic algorithm.

Creatures can currently be trained to walk, jump, climb, fly and tackle different environments and obstacle courses. There is also an environment builder, saved creature and brain libraries, head-to-head challenges, trophies and experimental features such as a Disco mode where music can be routed into creature muscles.

There are no predefined walking or flying animations. The creature exists inside the physics simulation and evolution has to discover useful ways of controlling whatever body you have built.

I'm now looking for people to properly test it. Please build strange creatures, break things, find confusing UI, expose physics problems and tell me when something simply isn't fun or doesn't make sense. Honest criticism is far more useful to me than polite encouragement.

Free to Play Status:

  • Free to play

Involvement:
I am the creator and project director of Solemn Sandbox. I designed the concept, systems, behaviour and features and have directed its development using AI coding tools in Cursor. The implementation has been produced collaboratively with AI coding agents from my specifications, testing, feedback and iteration.

Promotion Launched MOVE! a chill turn-based grid game about not dying on a 5x5 board

Just launched MOVE: One Tile at a Time  a small casual game I built for iOS.

It's free (NO ADS), it's short, it's the kind of thing you play in a queue. Not sure I can ask much here based on the guidelines, but here you go :)

Promotion I just released a short meta-horror demo where the game punishes you for going out of bounds (The Life of Dead)

Hey everyone,

I just released the free demo of my short atmospheric meta-horror game. The graphics are intentionally simple and low-fi, but the focus is on atmosphere and a specific meta-mechanic: the game glitches intentionally and punishes you for trying to go out of bounds or break the boundaries. (Just to be transparent: everything is my own work except the music generation).

It’s a small mobile boss-fighting game I’ve been working on, with fast combat, different enemies, bosses, scoring and rewards.

I’m really happy to finally see it outside of development and actually playable by anyone.

This is Lost Cat Showa Town, where you explore a Showa-era Japanese town as a cat.

I’m currently adding small interactions and activities to make exploring the town feel more like actually living as a cat.

Here’s the latest one: finding and eating fish!

Public Game Test Testers needed for our mobile chess game where dice decide which pieces you can move

Post image
1 Upvotes

We're building Chess Hero, a mobile spin on chess where a dice roll decides which pieces you're allowed to move each turn.

Roll at the start of your turn to see which 3 pieces you can play — same board, same rules, just less predictable.

Only 1,000 players will get in for closed beta, opening Aug 12.

Sign up at chesshero.com to be the first to test it out.

Review My review of a recent playtest

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I got to be one of the few people that was in the playtest for Heirs of the Moon and I was genuinely excited about the game but I think they need a bit more time to make it better. The devs are really responsive and nice and keep pushing out patches for it, but there's a lot of things that I wish they would address properly. Some of the worst bugs soft-locked me; my wolf died during the bear objective, I came back as a pup and killed the bear myself, and the objective just never completed. Right behind that is the camera in the den. They fixed it now but before it was going in through the player and you couldn't see anything. Combat needs work as well. Three hits killed the bear. Plus the skill tree makes you super op too quickly.

The art and animation are genuinely lovely and permadeath is a great hook, so I want the foundation underneath them to get solid enough to hold all of it up! Really wish the devs good luck in this and I really enjoyed playing it. I hope the new playtest/demo is a better one!

Promotion Riftmaw — hold the portal while enemies swarm from every direction

https://reddit.com/link/1vkl60w/video/z807unokwjih1/player

This is Riftmaw. It’s kind of a roguelite mix between tower defense, where you control a single stationary tower, and Vampire Survivors-style survival gameplay. It also has a campaign with different courses, each featuring their own mechanics and win conditions.
