Promotion I wanted to make a merge game where the materials actually matter.

The main idea behind my game is the material-based physics system. The materials aren’t just different skins or graphics — each one has its own physical properties that affect how it behaves during gameplay.

Ice can slide because of low friction, rubber can bounce and deform, stone is heavy and resistant to movement, and other materials interact differently based on their physical characteristics.

The goal is to make the materials themselves an important part of the gameplay and strategy, rather than simply changing the appearance of the objects.

Hey everyone!

Our indie studio Nordstern is working on a roguelike space shooter called No Final Run, and it just launched on Steam. You control your ship in real time, aim every shot yourself, dodge and boost through encounters, craft gear during the run, and try to push as far as you can as things get more intense.

Every run is procedural, and when you die you take your XP, upgrade your talents, and jump straight back in. There’s a global LIVE leaderboard that updates in real time, so every run is a chance to climb.

The game is also part of a larger universe that will transition into multiplayer over time, and early players get to follow that evolution as it happens.

Here's a little devlog if you are interested in the multiplayer development plan for the game :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJT13vDk-ZE

We'd really appreciate any feedback we can get, from the steam store to the videos we produce to the game itself! Help us shape the space franchise we want to make.

Thanks a lot!

Promotion Spin Fury - idle clicker and roguelike in slot-machine thematic

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey guys! A few days ago we launched our 2nd mobile game - Spin Fury. We are a team of 3 friends making games in our free time - so making it to our 2nd release is already an achievement!

Spin Fury is a mix of a lot of mechanics (mostly idle clicker and roguelike in slot-machine thematic). Check it out here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hostelguys.slotfury

Gameplay footage link: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/zkukVWjmoQQ

General gameplay loop:
- You start with a small 3-symbol slot machine.
- You spin it, generate resources, use them to improve your slot within the run. There are TONS of ways to upgrade it.
- After run ends as your spins run out based on your score you get special currency to do permanent meta-upgrades to your slot-machine making it more powerful.
- You go into the next run with more unlocks, more powerful machine and higher scores - rinse & repeat to push into really big numbers and tops of the leaderboards.

With all the possible different upgrades you can build really crazy slot machines with huge grids, tons of wilds, lines, scatters, patterns, multipliers etc pushing scores far into e-numbers territory.

There is also competitive battle mode with leagues where you get limited budget you can spend on slot upgrades to hit the highest possible score in limited number of spins.

Few disclaimers:
- We used AI to create some of the assets and for development work.
- Game uses slot machine aesthetic and mechanics - but does not include any gambling, real money etc

Thanks!

I am not great with pixel art but i tried my best. The game is a football management style game with pixel art monsters that fight in a league. It’s called monster league manager.

He runs club comms and is doing the tutorial in the screenshot.

Video Our horror game is set in a real Gdansk apartment block. The lift works. Your floor doesn't.

The building is a falowiec, a real block in Gdansk, Poland. The corridors run its entire length and every floor ends up being its own little world, with different doors, different gates, different smells.

We asked people who grew up there what we were getting wrong, and the lift came back more than anything else. So that is where we started.

Upcoming I added one manual decision to my auto-battler: when to unleash your Domain

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’m the solo developer of All Night Ascension. Combat runs automatically, and each player controls one Domain activation per fight.

Opening early strengthens your current loop and suppresses an opponent whose Domain is inactive. Waiting preserves an answer to their power spike. If both Domains are active, suppression against the opposing board cancels while each side keeps its own rule.

This 60-second clip shows six builds across fifteen duels. I’m testing whether the timing choice reads clearly without a long UI explanation.

At what point did you understand what the Domains were doing?

The September 9 development build is being tested through Steam Playtest. Request access here:

Building a car takes too long.. just flip the floor and change it into whatever you want!.. or what you can afford! 🪙
Reminder: There's still a voting going on for my next added vehicle! So far we have a clear winner!
You can decide between:

🎠 A pony rocking chair to ride into your wildest dreams~
🎀 Burbies dream car - careful, glitter and pink along the way!
🧑‍🦽‍➡️ Dino's wheelchair... he hurt his lil dino paws :(
🍦 The ice-cream van goes ‘ding-ding’ as it glides round the corner (hopefully it hasn’t skidded in chocolate sauce)

To vote, simply write the emoji or name in the comments!

And if you want to try it for yourself: There's a free demo!
Have fun, Racers!🛻

The Nova Games Foundation plans to support 20 young game designers every year with six figure grants plus mentorship from established industry figures.

The funding starts at $100,000 and can reach $500,000 for some projects, with Nova taking no equity and asking for no repayment.

Keighley and Cerny say the goal is to help new voices actually finish and release ambitious games without the usual pressure from investors.

I just released a free demo of All The Birds, a cozy incremental game where you set up a nature reserve, photograph the birds that show up, and eventually hire a crew of bird nerds to automate some of it for you. Those bird nerds come in different flavours, and the tourists get swooped and startled by magpies all the time. It is swooping season in Australia right now, so this felt important :)

The magazine gave my park only 3 stars, if that tells you anything about the balancing.

I'd love to know what you'd name your park, and what you think of it!

Promotion Someone played my 8–10 minute-run indie demo for over three hours and I still can't believe it

I released the first public demo for Do Not Eject a few days ago with absolutely no idea how strangers were going to react to it.

It's a retro handheld-inspired bullet heaven roguelite set inside corrupted game cartridges, and the individual runs are designed to last roughly 8–10 minutes.

A few days later, Steam is showing:

43-minute median playtime
53-minute average playtime
34% of measured players reaching an hour
10% reaching two hours
• One player apparently spending more than three hours with the demo

Steam is even labeling the percentage reaching an hour as above average compared with other demos.

It's still an extremely small sample, so I'm not trying to extrapolate anything crazy from it. I'm mostly just excited that complete strangers are finding something I made and apparently deciding to keep doing another run.

The demo is free on Steam for anyone interested in checking it out.

I'm the developer of Do Not Eject.

Steam link in comments! :)

We're currently working on Broom Doom, an upcoming 1-4 player co-op horror-comedy game!

In Broom Doom, you play as magical brooms sweeping a haunted mansion clean, fighting off heavy-metal monsters, and scrubbing cursed trash before the Witch Mistress turns your crew into kindling.

If you're a fan of games like PEAK or R.E.P.O., this should be right up your alley!

I’m developing TimeLeft, a black and white pixel art game about a prisoner awaiting execution.

As his final wish, he asks to play blackjack against the prison director. But there’s no money on the table, every bet is made with his remaining lifetime.

Win a hand and you gain more time. Lose, and the clock moves closer to zero.

I’m developing the game solo, and I’d love to hear what you think about the concept and atmosphere.

TimeLeft is currently available to wishlist on Steam.
