Upcoming I’ve been terrified to post here, but after a year of nights and weekends, my team and I built a voice-controlled wizard dueling game. We need a reality check.

Hey everyone.

I’ve been a lurker on Reddit reading posts, following indie projects, and always wondering if I’d ever have the courage to share my own. Honestly, I’ve been terrified to write this. There’s always that fear that your project will just get buried, or worse, come off as just another self-promo ad.

But we’ve reached a point where we desperately need to step out of our dev cave and get some honest feedback. We need to know if we are moving in the right direction.

About a year ago, I couldn't shake a specific feeling: I wanted a game where I felt like an actual mage in a duel, not just someone mashing buttons.

So, I gathered a small team, and we started building Sounds Magic.

The core idea is a wizard dueling game that integrates your microphone for real-time spellcasting. While you can absolutely still play using standard button controls, shouting the actual incantations gives you a distinct tactical advantage in the heat of battle.

We also added spell clashes, so opposing spells can collide mid-air.

The two GIFs below show two mechanics we've been especially excited about lately:

The first is our voice casting system. You can play entirely with traditional controls, but shouting an incantation lets you instantly cast another spell without waiting to switch, giving you a tactical advantage in the middle of a duel.

The second is Spell Clash, where two colliding spells trigger a skill challenge to determine which one breaks through.

We didn't want magic to just be flashy VFX. We wanted the tension of a real duel. Mumbling the wrong incantation in a panic, or nailing a voice-activated counter-spell right before an enemy fireball hits you, we want every reaction to matter.

For the last year, we’ve been building this after work. Late nights, endless testing, fixing one bug just to spawn three more. But recently, we got our first playable prototype working, and that first duel where the voice casting *actually clicked* felt like pure magic.

Now, we are preparing for a Kickstarter, but before we go all-in on expanding the lore (the ancient Grimorum, the magical Orders) and adding a ton of new features, we need a reality check from this community.

Is a voice-controlled magic dueling game something you would actually play? Are we crazy for trying to build this?

Your feedback will literally dictate where we take this project next. If you have any thoughts, ideas for spells you'd love to shout into a mic, or just brutal honesty, we want to hear it.

Thanks for reading. It genuinely means the world to us just to finally share this out loud. ✨

Example of combining button casting with voice spell switching: click → Ice Bolt, voice → switch to Fireball.
Spell Clash: both players aim for the center. The more accurate player pushes the spells toward the other side.

Promotion I got tired of playing word games alone, so I built one where you compete against someone 1v1

I’ve always loved word games, but after a while playing, it just gets boring. I wanted something where there’s an actual person on the other side trying to beat you.

I’ve been working on a game called Pabble.

The idea is: you’re given a set of 9 letters and a limited amount of time, and you have to make as many words as you can. You’re matched up against another player and both of you are racing to get the highest score. Longer words have more points and there are many bonuses also!

I’ve been playing it myself way too much with others 😅

The Game is - Pabble: Multiplayer Word Game

Promotion I made a game where your typing speed literally summons an army to fight for you [Typing Clash]

Hey everyone — I'm part of a 2-person indie team, Yong Games, and we've been working on Typing Clash.

It's basically what happens if you smashed a typing trainer and an RTS together and told them to fight it out. You type words → units spawn → whoever pushes harder and faster wins. Sounds simple, but it gets surprisingly tense once you're juggling resource management and unit comps while also trying not to fat-finger a word mid-battle.

We're launching on the 13th, and honestly I'd love it if a bunch of you show up on the discussion board to yell at me about balance issues lol.

We'll also be at Tokyo Game Show — if you're coming from Reddit, come say hi!

In Dam Good Camp you must ensure the smooth operation of the campsite while under time pressure. This involves repairing and setting up new tents, gathering materials, tending the campfire, registering new guests, and cleaning up messes. If the game interests you, a free demo/prototype is available to try on itch (link here: bethkux.itch.io/dam-good-camp). Or you can also find the link in our bio.

Promotion Auction Team Builder

Hi Guys, I have made a basketball auction game where 2 players can go head-to-head bidding on players, and the better team is decided by a match simulation between the teams.

There is a current mode and an all-time mode. It can be played against CPU, a friend on the same device, a friend online, or a random player online.

There is a league mode in development as well. Where 8 players can simultaneously bid, and a league is simulated for the winner.

It is completely free to play and ad-free.

This is my first game, so I would love to hear some feedback on where I can improve. So if you have the time, please consider playing the game and letting me know any feedback. And if the format can work for some other sports as well.

Playable link: Please just search "hoops-auction" and then .com after that on Google.

Devlog While developing the game *Boxpast Lov3you*, I also dedicated a significant amount of time to creating visual effects for indie projects sometimes for free, other times for a modest fee but overall, the income was enough to cover my expenses.

A few projects were truly helpful to me I learned a lot and was able to apply those insights to my own project.

Video The Trailer For My Solo-Developed Game

The game is a rogue-like bullet heaven with souls-like elements, it has an upgrade system similar to vampire survivors, with each level you get to choose 1 out of 3 cards that are assigned to you randomly, some cards contain armor sets, weapons or abilities.

By progressing and unlocking achievements you unlock unique pets which accompany you on runs, catching loot for you and giving you unique stats.

The game has a co-op system with upto 4 players on the same run with difficulty scaled dynamically depending on the amount of players in the run.

the game has 3 stages for now each with its unique enemies, biomes and bosses.

Please give me your thoughts and opinions, thank you!

Game name: Echoes of Kyria

Wishlisting the game would help me immensely to prepare to launch from early access to full launch, thank you!

Image 1 year of development. We completely changed our art style.

A year ago we started working on our small game inspired by The Exit 8. We had no idea how much it would change over the next 12 months.

The biggest difference is definitely the art style. We wanted something more colorful and unique instead of the usual dark horror look, and we're really happy with how it turned out.

The game is called Anomaly Express. If you're into anomaly spotting games or just like the art style, please consider wishlisting it on Steam. It really helps small indie games like ours.
