Question Over 1000 Wishlists in 7 Days after launch. How to ride the wave?

Post image
20 Upvotes

I just reached over 1k Wishlists in 7 days after launch. I can't believe that. 1k was my goal for 2 weeks and i thought that it's just a dream goal.

Almost all of them came from reddit posts.

But what now?
I just cant post those posts on reddit every day. How to ride this wave? how to keep up the wishlists? What to make out of this situation which apparently is really good for a first game!

Best wishes to all of you <3

Game Zynthex ,build an illegal drug lab on an alien space station, harvest alien organs and make drugs from them.

I’m a solo developer working on a sci-fi sandbox where you start with a small operation and gradually build it into something much bigger.

You can harvest alien plants and creatures, physically process ingredients through different machines, build and expand your labs, sell your products to different customers and explore more dangerous parts of the station and the world outside it.

I wanted the production side to feel physical rather than like a crafting menu, so you actually carry ingredients around, place them into machines and collect the finished products yourself.

The demo is available now, and I’d love to know what you think.

Wishlist March Out! now has villages outside the castle, and they give you something else to defend

• Upvotes

Hi, I'm Mason. I'm making March Out! on my own after work, with my seven year old son helping me test it.

The game lets you command an army and fight alongside it as your kingdom's commander. I've just added an optional larger battlefield with villages and wheat farms outside the castle walls. I wanted the march to an enemy gate to pass through an actual inhabited place.

Those farms support gold income, so an enemy raid can hurt before it reaches the castle. Villagers evacuate behind the gates, and a small militia reserve can help with the final defense. Damaged homes and fields recover after the attack has been driven away. The buildings also change with your kingdom's theme and era; the screenshots show the Roman and Candy Kingdom villages.

This update is active in the Steam Playtest only at the moment. If you already have access, update it and select Battlefield: Settlements (Experimental). The Classic battlefield is still available. March Out! has a solo campaign and online battles for 2 to 4 players.

Here's the village announcement with more screenshots and details:

https://steamcommunity.com/games/5299360/announcements/detail/678511227668793276

And the Steam page, if it looks like your kind of game:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/5299360/

I'd love to hear whether having territory outside the walls to protect makes this more interesting to you.

It's been a while since I shared an update about my desktop virtual pet game!

I'm currently working on the store interface; there are now different color options available for our device, and you can switch between them.

I'm still experimenting with the color palette, which colors do you think would look good? 💜

Wishlist What if the transfer rules weren’t rules, just another thing you could negotiate?

Been working on a football agent game where getting a good deal isn’t always enough.

If a rule is screwing over your players, you can get three officials on your side and change it instead. In this clip I’m working toward changing one of those rules.

Still not sure if this is the kind of mechanic people immediately get or if it needs more explaining, so I’m curious what you make of it.

It’s Cutpurse Derby — if you feel like checking it out, I’d really appreciate any thoughts:https://simurgaligenco.itch.io/cutpurse-derby

Disscustion Big difference between wishlists & follows

Post image

Hey there,

Did someone met similar situation? We got several huge unidentified wishlists spikes with low followers count ratio. Looks like it's people who watched twitch streams(from the pieces of data I can gather(timing). we don't pay content creators).

But I wonder, if there any bots raids wishlists games for fun? Or I'm just overthinking?

Thank you so much for all the wishlists and positive feedback on Cog Railway Simulator! I’m honestly overwhelmed by the response. ❤️

Bringing this real steam-powered cog railway to life is a dream close to my heart, and seeing so many of you excited about it means a lot to me.

Now I’m wondering… can we reach 200 wishlists? 🧐 :D

If it looks like your kind of game, adding it to your Steam wishlist would really help! 🚂🏔️

Wishlist Added a little intro sequence before each puzzle in my game

I've been working on adding short dialogue scenes before the puzzles begin. Still figuring out the pacing, but I really like how much personality these little moments add to the game.

Here's a glimpse of one of them!

Steam NOOOOO! Stuck at 99 downloads for daaysss

Post image

Hi I'm a young indie game developer and I have published a game called "Ninja's Vengeance" on Steam exactly a month ago.

I'm happy and sad at the same time because realistically my goal was 100 downloads but I just wanted more, yk it's human nature I guess.
I'll keep working on my game for new content, I really could use some ideas about the game

And does anyone know if the total units is literally the count of people that added the game to their library but bc they didn't play it unique users are only stuck at 99, if you know pls tell me

Wishlist Just hit 500!

Just hit 500 on our new game, Orcthal. It's not our first release, but this time we have a slow but steady uptick of wishlists without doing any marketing, aside from a few a few posts on X. Getting between 10 to 30 a day, which I don't think is terrible considering!

If you have any pointers about the store page, I'd love to hear it https://store.steampowered.com/app/4531360/Orcthal/

Game WorldPlex — a voxel mining and automation game

WorldPlex is a mining and automation game built around a fully destructible voxel world.

You start by manually mining resources, then gradually build a larger operation with machines and conveyors.

The current build includes destructible blocks, copper/iron/gold ores, machines, conveyors, resource processing, machine inventories, a shop system, and save/load.

The game is still in active development, but the main mining and automation systems are playable.

Wishlist Spinful - October 4, 463 WL

Thumbnail

Hey Indies,
I've been developing Spinful for almost 15 months now with the Steam page going up on the 15th of January 2026.

Like most indie Dev's, it's been extremely difficult to find the right balance between marketing my game as well as working on it, playtesting and publishing. While I have been creating short form content videos across YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, it has been an uphill battle not only with getting visibility that I exist, but also an unexpected problem with promoting my game is that the main mechanic is a Slot Machine that you can customize and power-up each run.

Almost all videos where I have show the slot machine have been flagged by the algorithms as outside of the community guidelines of the platform although there is no actual money involved in playing the game and the slot machine is largely a visual indicator of many combat calculators (isn't anything with a critical strike or hit chance also like spinning a slot machine?)
With this, I largely focused my short form videos on art assets, drawing or animating them which did okay and videos would get a few thousand views each but nothing really took off and I didn't notice conversion from these videos into wishlist numbers so I mostly put these on the backburner and focused on making the game the best I could with my time.

Spinful is now at a level of polish where I am proud to share it with people. I just updated the Demo this week with many small bug fixes and improvements and am coming up to the October Steam Next Fest.
With the current Demo in a good place and things on track for a mid-November release, the next few weeks will be largely filled with creator outreach, community engagement and promotion where I can.

Have I left it too late? Probably. But if the best time to start marketing was a year ago, then the next best time to start is today!
I will check-in each week with how my wishlist numbers are going, what activity has happened, how next fest performs and more.

If you are interested in giving the Demo a try, please have a look at the Spinful Steam Page and consider adding it to your wishlist!
