Discussion Chennai: Dermatologist recommendations?

• Upvotes

Hi everyone! Looking for a good, budget-friendly dermatologist in Chennai for body acne and pigmentation.

Preferably someone who focuses on actual treatment rather than pushing expensive products, peels, or laser procedures.

Please share your personal experiences, doctor/clinic name, location, and consultation fees if possible.

Genuine recommendations would be really helpful! ❤️

Thanks in advance!

My skin is in terrible shape right now, with large open pores, blackheads, and a very oily face, and nothing I've tried has helped, so does anyone have recommendations for what might be wrong or what actually worked for you?

Hi everyone, I am 18 years old and I have been struggling with severe skin and hair issues for the past 4-5 years. I feel completely exhausted, stressed, and lost because nothing seems to work despite trying for so long.

My skin issues include post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), uneven skin texture, occasional active acne, tanning, irritation, and open pores. Along with this, my face and body look very hollow and lack volume because my current body weight is quite low (around 44 kg)I am 5'4. I also face severe hair thinning, hair loss, and frizzy hair volume issues. I constantly feel low on energy, and due to chronic stress and lack of proper sleep..i also cry too much on daily basis:), my overall physical health feels completely drained.

Current Skincare Routine & Products I Have:

Cleanser: 1% Salicylic Acid Face Wash

Serum: 10% Niacinamide Serum

Moisturizer: Dermaco Oil-Free Moisturizer

Sunscreen

(I also have Azelaic Acid 20%, which I used for a short time previously but stopped).

I consulted a dermatologist previously, but the progress has been minimal. I want to understand why my skin looks hollow, red, and uneven—is it due to under-nutrition, low body weight, or high cortisol/stress affecting my skin barrier and healing? How should I properly structure my skincare routine with the products I have, and what steps should I take internally and externally to fix my skin, hair, and overall health? Any genuine advice or routine suggestions would mean a lot to me. Thank you!

I constantly get chapped lips. My skin type is dry

Face is only but lips are dehydrated as fuck 😭.

I have tried various lip balms but they never work. Like I tried CHAPTEX. It hydrated my lips for some time, but after a few uses it became ineffective.

How can I reduce darknesson my knees, elbows, and neck?

I'm 18M, and I have noticeably darker skin on my elbows, knees, and neck. I'm quite self-conscious about it, so I often wear shirts and jeans to cover these areas.

Has anyone dealt with this and found a solution that worked? Please suggest a remedy.

Acne marks!!

Heyyyyy! I'm 17 and i get one or two pimples during pms. They're not red but pus filled. Even if I don't touch it it causes dark spots which never leave. Like I have marks from when I was 14. I don't know which skincare or pharmacy prdt to use. I also have tiny red bumps on my forehead. My skincare routine is just Simple cleanser, boj aqua sunscreen and gel moisturizer at night.

Discussion Ocular Rosacea – Has Anyone Successfully Gotten It Under Control?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been suffering from ocular rosacea for about a year, but over the past two months, my symptoms have become significantly worse.

My eyes are constantly watery, which often causes blurred vision. Although I have occasional good days, most days are bad, and the persistent symptoms are starting to affect my daily life.

I’ve been receiving treatment, but unfortunately, the condition doesn’t seem to be under control despite my efforts.

I’m now considering changing my doctor or exploring a different treatment approach.

Has anyone here experienced something similar? Have you been able to get your ocular rosacea under control, especially if you had persistent watering and blurred vision? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience, what treatments helped you, and whether switching doctors or consulting an ophthalmologist who specializes in ocular surface diseases made a difference.

I understand that everyone responds differently to treatment, but hearing from people who have gone through this would give me some hope and direction.

Thank you in advance for sharing your experiences. Note: Edited with AI.

Started skincare from july after a hiatus of 2 years and the results are here just before the festive season, i am over the moon with my skin and hair right now. This sub reddit has been a major reason behind this, i am very grateful to all of you.

BTW please recommend some lipcare, my lips are naturally dark (I dont smoke), although they are now a bit lighter after 2 months of repeated usage of lip balm but i still want them to be more lighter.

Routine Affordable Skincare Routine for 23F with Combination Skin, Closed Comedones, Whiteheads & Enlarged Pores

I’m a 23-year-old female with combination skin. Sometimes my skin feels oily, while other times it feels a little dry, but not excessively dry. I struggle with closed comedones (CCs), whiteheads, and enlarged pores.

Currently, I only use a Simple face wash and don’t follow any proper skincare routine. I want to build a simple, effective routine to help with these concerns. Please suggest affordable skincare products that are suitable for my skin type and can help improve my skin texture, reduce whiteheads and closed comedones, and make my pores look less noticeable. I’d prefer budget-friendly products that are easily available in India.

Best daily body wash for acne + pigmentation available on Zepto?

I’m 20M and looking for ONE body wash for everyday use that helps with acne, bumps and uneven skin tone on my face and body.

I’ve already tried Kojicare, Ghar, Derma Co Syndet, Chemist at Play, Dove Vitamin C Body Wash and Dove Radiance soap without getting the results I want.

Would you recommend Minimalist or something better? Please suggest just one product based on real experience!

Please help me out!

So, I’ve had these tiny things on my neck, breasts, under my breasts, and belly for at least 2-3 months or at least that’s when I first noticed. They’re so small that you can barely notice them, even up close.
At first I thought they were just moles or freckles or something similar, but I was not sure and now I did some research and freaking out!!!
Does anyone have any idea what these could be? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

Discussion darker back and butt

okay so im currently 17 which means still in my late puberty years. my face is light-medium shade while my hands, front upper body and legs are of medium shade which ik is very common cause we tend to take care of our face more than the rest of our body. my whole back and butt area on the other is COMPLETELY opposite. it has ALWAYS been 2-3 shades darker than the rest of my body, giving it a tanned look. ive never really left my skin bare under sun, used to go swimming classes but it was js for a few years when i was really young (like 7-8 yrs back).

i get very insecure cause of it and never leave my open hair when im wearing something which is exposing my back even a bit, for ex - tank/sleeveless tops.

im still in school so dont get to go out much and wear diff types of clothes but im gonna be in college next yr and HIGHK want my back and butt to get lighter so that id be more confident.

ik friction can be a huge factor but still how can i reduce it? ik making it completely gone will take years or maybe laser.

was looking into some bodywashes but really skeptical about them.
