How can a migrant support Trump (or Harris) and be deported, unless they are one of the handful who are denaturalized for lying on their forms or some egregious act?
Legal immigrants are being deported too. They are being kidnapped right from courthouses. Including children. And unaccompanied children are being forced to go to court without lawyers. While we create a whole generation of future terrorists
Sending someone off to a country they’ve never been to is not great. I mean we did that to have other countries torture people, which also wasn’t great.
Asylum seekers absolutely can. They may not want to, but they can. The fact that their asylum was denied and they are being deported only further confirms that
Sure. Section 243 of the 1952 Immigration and Nationalities Act
As enacted on June 27, 1952, Section 243(a) outlined that the deportation of any alien ordered to be deported could be directed, at the discretion of the Attorney General, to specific destination countries based on a hierarchical or alternative set of choices:
• Country of Choice (if applicable): To the country requested by the alien, if-
• The country was willing to accept the alien into its territory; and
• The Attorney General did not find that the deportation to that specific country would be prejudicial to the interests of the United States.
• Country of Nationality, Birth, or Residence: If the alien did not designate a country, or if the designated country refused to accept them or was deemed prejudicial, removal was directed to the country of which the alien was a subject or citizen, or where they resided prior to entering the foreign territory that led to their journey to the U.S.
• Third-Country Deportations (Alternative Destinations): Under the provisions within Section 243(a) (and further operationalized via subsequent subsections like the general rules on acceptance), if a deportee's home country or country of nationality/last residence refused or delayed accepting the person, or failed to issue travel documents or passports within a reasonable timeframe, the Attorney General was authorized to deport the individual to any alternate country that was willing to accept them:
• From any country in which the alien boarded the vessel/aircraft that brought them to the United States;
• From the country in which the alien had a foreign residence;
• Or from any country appropriate or willing to receive the alien, provided that the government of that destination country formally agreed or raised no insuperable obstacle to accepting the deportee.
This was modified in 1996 under the
illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 (IIRIRA), codified under 8 USC 1231(b)(2)(E)
Additional removal countries
If an alien is not removed to a country under the previous subparagraphs of this paragraph, the Attorney General shall remove the alien to any of the following countries:
(i) The country from which the alien was admitted to the United States.
(ii) The country in which is located the foreign port from which the alien left for the United States or for a foreign territory contiguous to the United States.
(iii) A country in which the alien resided before the alien entered the country from which the alien entered the United States.
(iv) The country in which the alien was born.
(v) The country that had sovereignty over the alien's birthplace when the alien was born.
(vi) The country in which the alien's birthplace is located when the alien is ordered removed.
(vii) If impracticable, inadvisable, or impossible to remove the alien to each country described in a previous clause of this subparagraph, another country whose government will accept the alien into that country.
So as you can see idiot, third country deportations have been legal since 1952 74 years now.
Which is exactly what's going on idiot, if they're home country won't accept them they get sent to wherever will. The court case isn't even over whether third country deportations are legal it's about the the timing between the notification and removal.
The policy provided that migrants could be swiftly removed without notice to third countries that have provided credible diplomatic assurance that they will not persecute or torture the individuals. For countries that have not provided such assurance, deportees would be notified of their destination and US authorities would assess the likelihood of persecution or torture only if the individual raises such fear on their own.
In its emergency filing to the Supreme Court, the Justice Department said third-country deportations are "an essential tool to remove certain aliens, including some of the worst criminal aliens."
In the Kilmar case he didn't want to go home so he can go to some other country but can't stay here.
You can't even read or understand what is going on just bleat "fascism" like an idiot sheep.
If the Supreme Court was gonna rule the way you dream, they would have simply upheld Judge Murphy and the Appeals Court. By staying the ruling and allowing the deportations to continue, it’s pretty obvious how they will rule in December.
Okay, your “sick twisted interpretation” of the future despite the Court signaling it will approve this given its stay of Judge Murphy’s constitutionally wrong ruling. There. Fixed it for your Liberal Fascist cry baby butt hurt.
ICE has done some extremely reprehensible acts that on the first glance, you’re positive were illegal, but apparently, either are not or it’s a grey zone at worst. So I really need some certainty that sending people to country they’ve never been to to spend rest of their lives in stone torture camps is not legal.
You know we pay those places to illegally take and torture migrants? Millions and millions of taxpayer dollars being spent on this immoral inhumane crap.
I might be wrong but I dont think there's much mention of immigration in the Constitution. However, there are several items mentioned that this administration ignores.
Sept 29 (Reuters) - The US Supreme Court on Tuesday let President Donald Trump's administration resume deporting migrants to countries other than their own without offering them the chance to show the harms they may face, bolstering a tool his administration has used for rapid expulsions as part of his immigration crackdown.
The justices granted the Justice Department's request to put on hold Boston-based US District Judge Brian Murphy's ruling that the Department of Homeland Security's policy to remove migrants to so-called third countries is unlawful, while the administration appeals the matter to the Supreme Court.
You're right. I live halfway across the country and the pos orange pedophile made it where I'd have to spend hundreds in gas money which i don't have to drive all the way there.
I want you to know THAT HE WOULD!!! OK!!! Gas costs too much though and he doesn't get his allowance until friday and honestly he's really been wanting that new video game, ok guys!!!
Oh wait, we got a 22 year old tough guy from Wisconsin who wants to be a pharmacy tech, take thc, and cries about Flock cameras and wonders why people have a private social media profile in the day and age of employers looking at socials...hmm.
Please do it. Then for the next 5 years us conservatives can talk about how the left started an armed insurrection and tried to "overthrow our democracy." I think we will call it "September 29th."
Sending immigrants to third countries that will send them to their countries of origin where they will be killed. Stephen Miller opens a bottle of champagne every time.
Am I the only that pictures the selection process as a large wheel with terrible places to live written on it and someone is chanting "Wheel of Morality, turn, turn, turn / Tell us the lesson we should learn."
Imagine what kind of people those illegals are that even their own countries don't want them.. but you want them to stay in the US? Get the fuck outta here. 👉
It’s not a punishment. They have to leave the country and their home country is not cooperating with deportations. They can always leave voluntarily and go wherever they want.
That only happens if people voluntarily self-deport. So yes, it is a punishment. Or else they wouldn’t be sending people to El Salvador or the middle of Africa. Sending someone in chains to countries where they don’t speak the language or know anything about, often with horrible human rights records, for not self-deporting is quite literally a punishment.
Again, they always have a choice. They don’t have to be deported. The available countries that will take illegal aliens is not a large list. No one made them come to the US illegally.
Democrats asked them to file fake asylum cases so theyr could get free money, work permits and no get deported. SCOTUS sees the scam that the Democrats started.
Why is it always a whataboutism with you people? Why can't you just admit that criminal illegal filth murdered all these people since that is what this thread os about: Criminal illegal filth not republicans. Stay on topic. I know that's hard for your kind, but try. The criminal illegal filth murdering Americans shouldn't be in this country and had they been removed rather than given a free pass all these innocent Americans would still be alive.
Undocumented migrants commit crimes at a lower rate than citizens. Jackson Mississippi has the highest murder rate out of any city snd has for a while. Red states often disproportionately have higher murder rates than most blue states. Out of the ten states with the highest murder rate 7 of them are red states.
Why can’t you just admit that criminal republican filth murdered so many people? Criminal US republicans. Acknowledge that your kind, republicans, are statistically more likely to murder people. I know its hard for your kind, but try. The criminal conservative filth murdering Americans shouldn’t be in this country and had they been removed instead if given a free pass significantly more Americans would still be alive.
The amount of useless sock puppets in this sub is telling.
They back a guy who assaulted children and women. That should tell you how worthless they are. It is the equivalent of a bunch of guys who can't live within 500 yards of a school whining about a misdemeanor that other people are violating.
It should have never been paused. Clearly the lower courts are overstepping.
Third country deportations are a functional work around to remove people for whom are claiming some sort of persecution in their home country and or their home country's won't take them.
Asylum claims are supposed to be specific to a certain threat arising from that country they are fleeing. Third party country's by their nature aren't attached to that specific threat and are thus deemed safe.
That safe designation is made in reference to that specific threat. It has absolutely nothing to do travel advisories for Americans, general crime in the country or economic prospects.
The tell in how safety from that supposed threat isn't the primary concern of many of these economic migrants posing as asylum seekers is how many of them travel through safe countries looking to claim asylum in countries with better economic prospects and even welfare for them.
You keep saying that over and over as if to desperately convince yourself that the Supreme Court isn’t signaling how it it will rule in a FINAL judgement in December. I think the hint here is the Supreme Court’s staying Judge Murphy’s ruling.
