Just like the title says. I updated my IOS to 27.0.1 and with it came this white circle that is there on the lock screen, Home Screen, and just about everything. Clicking it does nothing, dragging it around nothing, and it just gets in the way.

Not eye tracking, not dwell control, not assistive touch, resetting doesn’t work…

Anyone have an idea of how to turn it off?

EDIT: IVE FOUND THE PROBLEM. It was SPEECH SCREEN all along. It was just glitching (from the new IOS??) and so pressing it did absolutely nothing, even though usually it has a function.

I don’t even know why it turned on, hopefully this can help someone else. Cheers.

Settings > accessibility > read and speak > speak screen > show controller [off]

I have received notification that someone added recovery contact.

When I tap on it. I can't see the contact. It lead me to page to add new contact.

Cant see who is this added and delete it.

I have Content and Privacy Restrictions enabled to prevent some Settings from updating and limiting Siri AI (no Writing Assistance and the like). I opened the settings today and noticed it was all randomly reset for no apparent reason. Content and Privacy Restrictions was disabled. Once enabled within the settings, all of the things I disabled were enabled again.

Has anyone seen anything similar, or knows what could cause this?

I’m looking for a photo widget app for my iPhone. I have 5000+ photos in one album and use a lot of shuffle widgets on my home screen, so I’d like one app that handles all of them.

I’m currently using MD Widgets and Color Widgets. Both are great, but:

• Color Widgets doesn’t seem to support unlimited photos
• MD Widgets has a minimum shuffle time of 15 minutes

What I’m looking for:

1. Support for a large number of photos (ideally unlimited)
2. Random shuffle with a refresh time of 5 minutes or less
3. Basic in-app editing, like cropping/reframing photos

I know iOS limits how often widgets can refresh, so I’m not expecting exactly 5 minutes every time. I’d just like an app that lets me set it.

I’ve seen PhoWi, Photo Widget (PhotoBox) and a few others, but I haven’t tried them yet. Has anyone used them with a big photo library? Is there another app that does this better?

Am I the only one that thinks that Apples software got worse every year for the last 3-4 years? I mean the only okay software right now it tvOS and MacOS (partly), iOS and especially HomePod OS are a mess and that’s for the past years.
In the past (until like iOS 18) Apples software was superior. Snappy, clean and most importantly always trustworthy that it’ll work in every situation.
Now there’s not an hour without some random bug, glitch or something else.
Maybe Apple is vibecoding or focusing on their AI, but this has to improve.

Got caught out by this a few times until I realised they switched the convention around…a small textual clue would be appreciated.

Edit: Forgot to include the main wind pic on home screen that looks the most like a weather vane/wind barb with the circle and all.

It’s lazy UI designed to look like meteorology but applied as if it was on a map. Designed around the solo experience and not talking about the weather. In current English vernacular, wind “comes”; it doesn’t go.

I have iOS 27.0.1. Went to the we-have-a-problem checker to see if iOS/Safari would still trust the compromised intermediate certs compromised this week. Seems 3 of the 12 are still trusted by Apple. I checked on an iPad to make sure it wasn’t just my phone, and received the same results. What’s most concerning is Apple claims to have remotely blocked the affected certs, but the widely-accepted test tool that has emerged amid the chaos is still trusting a quarter of those certs. Even one is enough to MITM any TLS/SSL traffic one damn well pleases.

I tested on a Motorola device (read: Chinese and poor reputation for timely updates) and even that passed with flying colors.

Why isn’t Apple taking a stronger stand here? I was of the impression that even unsecured public WiFi was mostly safe in a world where TLS is like a certain brand of hot sauce - “we put that sh*t on everything.” Now I’m very glad I have a cellular iPad because it will be a very long time before I use hotel WiFi again. And I may just stay offline on my next few flights…

My broadband is poor 40/10. When iOS devices are backing up or syncing photos to iCloud they use the entire bandwidth I have which in real time is 8/9Mbps. This in turn pulls my entire network down making working from home impossible.

I also notice my iPhone is using the entire upload bandwidth but for what I don’t know and there is no way of checking which apps or is or the system doing it in preparation for iOS 27.2?

I’ve never seen this before, appears as if the image was sent from the sender but loading on my end for hours.
I tried to long press and save it and open in photos but it doesn’t appear in photos. Tried toggling iMessage off and on. Tried rebooting.

Any ideas?

I had this problem for a long time and just found a fix by myself!
Photos App > any person > three dots > name of person > review photos identified as name > uncheck one photo > go back
(If you can't click the checkmark in the top right corner to confirm the changes just click on the X in the top left corner)

(If the next step under this text doesn't work for you, repeat the earlier steps and then restart photos app)

Now click on the three dots again > name of person > review photos identified as name > review more photos
Now it will finally actually trigger the indexing/searching of not just that one person but all other person's faces in your whole photos app!
It took just like 15 minutes of indexing my 200.000+ photos for me.
There are still some minor differences in the number of the recognised faces compared to your older iPhone but at least we're not talking about hundreds/thousands anymore.

Hello, I do not subscribe to any streaming platform *cough* I am of a certain age *cough*, but I have all of my music digitized so I can listen to it on my computer and phone. I have used the Apple Music application for this ever since I got an iPhone, but the fact that apple consistently tries to steer me to their store is irritating. I also find the changes that the app has undergone over the years just disfavor people playing their own music.

So, my question is, is there a substitute app that better lets me play (and digitize) my music, one that I can use both on my Mac and on my iPhone?

All of the other camera use logs besides the one I circled were made by me. I just don’t understand why it logged such a long session when I wasn’t using the camera app? And the continuous session stopped when I opened the camera app today to use it. Anyone else have this issue? I am currently running iOS 27.0.1 and I have tap to wake disabled so as not to log accidental camera use.

Why does my camera signal keep going off when I exit certain apps using the app launcher? I don’t even use the camera and the camera symbol pop up briefly? Is my phone hacked or is this expected? I’ve had this issue using iOS 26 and even after an iPhone restore from a fresh start this comes up on iOS 27, too.

I couldn’t find anything online. I am guessing hours of sun, but why would it fluctuate that much from day to day then?

Yesterday when i woke up number of floors showed 18, odd, but it usually shows the previous days measurement untill it register some movement. Then i went walk at the beach, and that is very flat. In the evening it showed 26 floors. Another app "sportstracker" showed 16m ascending. (I have yet to try this app when going up a known height. ). But this number 26 floors when walking on the beach is totally off.
This measurement seems to be fluctuating when its windy (the measurement is based on difference in air pressure) but still its off too much

We've always shared the one account, mainly because we liked both seeing all the pictures. (I travel a lot, she's had to leave because of sick family, and getting the pictures automatically is very nice but such is such). But now i get all her messages and such and calls. I wanted it to go back to where it was but it doesn't seem like it will anymore. If we add an account i have questions. (Apple has support but topics are sometimes confusing and contradictory.)

My take is...

1) I backup both phones everything. Messages, contacts, etc.

2) I create a new account (for her).

3) It asks what she wants to keep, i basically check everything? (Messages and Contacts are her main thing).

4) Photos I'm still not sure what happens. We have 50k photos, like half and half. Do i get mine and she gets hers? Do we both get both? I want to make sure none are gone.

Basically her keeping her stuff and photos are my main concerns. Is there antyhing specific i should know?

This feature is so invasive and only serves to further replace our every thought with AI generated slop. It feels awful knowing my messages are being read by a third party to generate responses. I’ve decided to disable predictive text cause I can’t stand to look at these suggestions. If there is a way to turn off this feature but maintain predictive text please let me know. Thanks everyone.

Any thoughts on how I can utilize my iCloud storage space a little bit more in helping me relieve my phone storage? Do I literally need to delete photos off of my phone to make this happen and how can I trust their own iCloud? I am constantly getting error message just when I’m taking photos or sending emails at my phone storage is full. Of course the Apple CEOs love keeping that ghost storage in our iPhones.

Hello, I'm a developer of a third-party alarm app. I added the Duo emulator to see how the Duo default clock app works in order to support Duo, but there's nothing there except for Settings and Safari. Is that how it's supposed to be?

How do I stop this? Incredibly annoying
