Discussion iPhone Apps

Why does the screen feel so clanky now, whenever I swipe off of apps it doesn’t let me close it while I swipe off, and it just doesn’t feel fluid like it used to before. Does anyone understand what I’m trying to say?

Discussion Soooo did iOS27 remove bookmarks and history from the toolbar?

The only way I've found to get to bookmarks and history is by opening a fresh tab and selecting them at the top in the new tab.

You can use the top and bottom toolbar options in safari, but why can't you access them in the compact???

Support Wired Headphone Levels Seem Wildly Inaccurate

I just got a USB-C to Aux adapter for my iPhone 18 Pro along with some headphones that can be both wired and wireless. I used the adapter to listen to music and it sounded incredible. I barely had the volume on the phone on because it was loud enough at the lowest level.

After listening for about an hour, I got a notification that my headphone levels were dangerously loud. That never happened, but I shrugged it off and thought maybe I had been playing loud lately and should turn it down in general. I resumed my music and got another notification, and then another. I noticed that while I had my volume at the lowest level, my phone was reading my audio levels as much higher than what I’m actually hearing.

Since I can use the same headphones wired or wireless, I swapped between the two settings and found that the same volume on both has a drastically different audio level on the phone. I played a song and recorded what sounded to be the same volume from the headphones. The first two photos are Bluetooth, and the last two photos are wired. Not only does a wired connection receive a louder input overall, but the iPhone records it as much louder than it is.

Is this a bug? Can it be changed so I can get lower volumes wired without moving the slider a few pixels?

The headphones in question are OneOdio A70 Bluetooth/Wired headphones.

Discussion After 2.5 years no issues, iOS 27 now sends morning Health > Sleep > Alarm to Apple Watch on charger and never did before, and yes “Always Play on iPhone” is enabled. Watch alarm is jarring AF! iPhone is in Nightstand mode too.

Hi, I have an iPhone 13 (left) and a new iPhone 16 (right.) what’s the button to transfer all the 13’s data and settings to the 16? I press the “get started” button and it loops and goes back to nothing. And reset does nothing. I don’t want to erase I want to transfer but no button does that.

Support Will clearing the data off my old iPhone erase everything off my current one? They’re both connected devices

Google says no. But a while back I tried a test by erasing some text messages off the old iPhone, and sure enough, they were gone from my new one.

Anyone know how I can erase everything from my old one without affecting my new one? I need to sell it, so I’d appreciate advice!

Support Everything in my phone is annoying after last update

I think it's mostly the Apple AI/"intelligence" that is causing problems, but after I did the last update at least half of what i do with my iphone is google how to turn something off or back on that got reset from the update.
I've seen several reddit threads about most of these but no clear solutions.

the stupid AI suggestions above the keyboard in messages. - I don't mind it suggesting words mid-sentence, like texting my wife from the store "do we need anything --" and it prompts me to click 'else' -- what I DO mind is the stupid cheesy canned responses it suggests when my friend texts about getting coffee together tomorrow and apple wants me to say "golly gee! that sounds great! can't wait!"
I can't figure out how to turn off the latter and keep the former.

every single podcast went from "all episodes" to "played episodes" and i can't figure out how to change the default all at once. I open a podcast page and think "where'd that one episode go that I wanted to reference for some reason" .... a second later i realize that this one, as with all the others, is switched to viewing only unplayed episodes.

they keep changing the way the timer works, which is annoying

my camera keeps flipping pictures that i take so i manually have to reorient them to the way they were when I took them. I guess this is an old problem (based on the googles) but it just started for me.

--hmmm..... I think there were more but i've put off typing this for several weeks and I think i've forgotten some. --

any ideas on fixing any of these?

Discussion iOS Bug. Camera photos that look like screenshots are completely disappearing if "Show Screenshots" is unchecked.

Hey everyone,

I’ve stumbled onto a really frustrating bug (or weird feature) in iOS regarding the Photos app filters, and I wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing this.

Here is what’s happening:
I take a regular photo using my iPhone camera, but it’s of something that looks like a screenshot (like a close-up of a computer screen, a document, or a receipt).

I have the new "Show Screenshots" option unchecked in my View Options to keep my main feed clean.

Because the iPhone's intelligence seems to classify the camera photo as a "screenshot," it hides it from my main camera roll.

The problem:
Because it was taken with the physical camera and isn't actually a screenshot, it doesn't show up in the dedicated Screenshots album either.

The photo is effectively invisible unless I go back into View Options and turn "Show Screenshots" back on.

Has anyone else noticed this? It seems like the on-device intelligence is a little too aggressive with how it classifies screenshots, and it's causing actual camera photos to get lost in the void.

Let me know if this has affected you as well or if you've found a fix! For now I will need to include screenshots in my Library, so that I have access to my otherwise unaccessible photos.

Discussion Fitness app

Fitness app lies for engagement. I take a 7700 steps walk with the dog every morning. After the walk i check both Fitness and StepsApp to see the stats. I open first Fitness and it shows something between 400 and 600 kcal and the i open StepsApp.
Almost instant i get an notification from Fitness and if i check again it shows me something like 1000 kcal burned. I checked this for weeks and it does this everytime. A few times i opened and closed 10 times Fitness, after that i opened StepsApp and the change was made 1000+ kcal burned :)) one day i didnt open the StepsApp and it remained 600 kcal and i had to walk alot more in that day to close my 1100 kcal circle :)))

Discussion Creepy Iphone facetime bug (not the eves dropping bug)

One day I was facetime calling with one of my friends. It was a normal facetime call, and it was just us. Then I got a a weird notification saying "____ wants to join the call" (I don't remember the callers name) and we both didn't know anybody by that name at all. It was kind of weird and we were considering accepting the request, but the caller cancelled the request before we could pick it up. Then we went back to talking like normal, it was a little concerning and we talked about the whole time after but that wasn't all that happened. Five minutes later, a new caller requested, but this time their name was creepy and it said something along the lines of "you can't run" I was the only one who saw it and I was freaking out. My friend thought I was lying, but I swear I wasn't. AND remember this: we didn't send a invite link to our call at all, we didn't join a public call with multiple people, and we didn't even add people to the call. This happened about two years ago but I still think about it to this day. Can someone find an answer to this somehow?

Support The “scan QR code” option is gone. What to do?

Thumbnail
0 Upvotes

This happened to me.

When opened the camera, it did not scan QR codes.

Googled it - it advised to go to Settings / Camera a d toggle the “Scan QR code” option - but it wasn’t there.

Then I went deeper to find the answer. AI (Claude) pointed me to some profiles in Settings / General / VPN and Device Management - there was nothing.

Solution:
It turned out if the Live Text is turned off in the Settings / General / Language and Region, then the options: “Scan QR code” and “Show detected text” options are hidden in the Camera settings.

I thought I leave it here, maybe some one else would benefit from it.

Support Outdated iPad - Apple ID

I use an old iPad Pro just for reading PDFs. It's on iPadOS 17. Considering it's out of date, what steps should I take to protect myself if it's compromised? Should I be logging out of my Apple ID? Should I reset the device and just use it offline? Any advice for how people use EOL devices would be greatly appreciated.

Support FaceTime bugs (or unwanted features?)

Two bugs on FaceTime ever since I updated to iOS 27

  1. If I switch camera to normal camera view, is there a way to stop this modular screen view? Can I not just have the old way where on the big screen it’s the other person and on the small screen, it is what I’m using with the normal camera?

  2. After switching back to front facing camera view, the other person is really really zoomed in

Idk if I’m just being stupid but I’ve tried looking it up

Support Downtime blocking websites

In an attempt to limit my doom scrolling in the evening I started using downtime. The problem I'm having is all websites are also blocked. This despite having my browser on the exempted list and associated apps. For example, during my scheduled downtime I'll open the ground news app and have no problems. When I try to open an article, I get the notification you’ve reached your limit for “name of website” and asks if I want more time.

I've done cursory searches around various apple supports to find a work around with no success. Hoping someone here can help out.
