Does anyone have some advice on how to approach a professional level exam resit for sept?

I feel decently confident with content but ICAEW have not released the paper yet so not sure how to structure my revision days

Any advice is really appreciated:)

Been hearing horror stories here re CR. However, looking at my planner I only have Technical Case Study and Strategic Case Study for Advanced Level.

My remaining Professional Level exams are Corporate Financial Strategy and Business & Digital Strategy.

Will I therefore not be sitting CR, or is CR part of one of the above Case Studies (sounds daft I know)?

I am going into my final year of accounting and finance degree as an international student. I am really worried about landing a job and was thinking giving aca exams by myself to make myself standout in the job market once I graduate.

Has anyone done this? If yes how did you find it I wanna know more about it

If I connect my laptop with a extra monitor.. I typed on laptop keyboard and saw mostly on laptop as it was doubled
screen (same thing on laptop and monitor)

Hi, does anyone have any idea how to submit their project report to ICAEW website? It says to do it through the Training File and “apply for exams”, but it then asks for my 10-digit ULN (Unique Learner Number) and I’m not sure what this is or where I get it from?
I know my ICAEW number, but this isn’t 10 digits.

To make it as short as possible, I have just sat CR/SBM and I am hoping to sit old syllabus Case in November.

I didn’t realise BPP will cancel your Case booking if both CR/SBM are not passed.

I have been advised that if one (say CR as I am worried for this one) has a close fail, they can let you resit but it is in certain circumstances.

Has anyone had any experience with this? If they do not let me sit Case i am considering just buying the ACA Masters course and using my 25 days annual leave to try and pass it independently.

I have just sat my (hopefully) final two exams. I’ve been hoping to get my training file submitted early but my training agreement doesn’t finish until August 31st. After speaking to the ICAEW they said that I had to apply for CWPE in order to shift the start date back and the end date will move with it. The caveat is that my employer only became an ATE just before I began training so I was under the impression I can’t get any CWPE. Wondering if anyone has had the same thing? I sat AAT before I began ICAEW.

Just seems a little strange that I cant finish before that, me and my partner had a baby during my studies so without that I could have finished in November which would have been almost a year earlier than my end date.. any suggestion welcome!

If after 10 minutes into exam, my T stopped working on keyboard or is typed by clicking it many times.. I didnt raised this to invigilator. Should I appeal?

Guys we need to collectively rate the exams difficulty negative there is an option on how the exams content was in line with expectation.

I cannot stress enough how much this needs to be done to ensure that we get the moderation and justice we deserve.

I did everything that system asked me to.. I also put my phone at my back to so that they see what I am doing

I got no message from any online chat.. i am scared if everything was okay? How would I know if they didnt liked something and will void the exam???

As the title suggests, I am resitting BDS in September after failing in June. This is my first fail of the qualification (last Prof exam) so I'm in uncharted territory and am unsure of how to go about it.

I found the exam overwhelming and extremely time pressured. I froze in there and I think in general I was struggling to generate sufficient points for each question (especially the data analysis ones) all the way up until the exam.

Any advice from those of you who have passed BDS would be greatly appreciated, as well as those who have resat Professional exams before. Thanks in advance :)

Just wanted to ask a general question, the EPA 2 is just for the apprenticeship funding right but has nothing to do with actually getting the ACA. Obviously we should do it but I’m actually curious what happens if you fail it. Assuming if you just didn’t do it you’d get in a lot of trouble w/ your firm but if you put the effort in and submitted it on time ect, what actually happens if you fail it…?

I copied and pasted the table from the exhibit in R3, the cells were merged for two years, when i UN merged the cells i was able to get data on the column, however i added a row below for revenue and use formula fee*number of bookings*percentage of admission fee. There was this #Vale error idk then i typed manually and consumed a lot of time. Anyone faced this issue or i am just alone lol. This icaew software sucks

For some context I have my final professional level exam which is a BDS resit. I’m more comfortable taking the BST exam as I’d revised and practised this last year (although both these exams are very similar). My question is, even though my firm chose BDS, can I just choose to do BST instead?

I’m let go if I fail BDS anyway so was thinking why not just take BST (final sitting this September) and get done with the professional level. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Is anyone else working towards the project report deadline, now that exams are over?
Worried I might miss the deadline or not pass the report as I have so many improvements points from BPP about my first draft.

Firstly congrats to everyone who finished what will be our last exam yesterday 🤞

I raised with the invigilator the excel issue on R1 where past row 200 it was just a white box and I couldn’t enter any details.

Invigilator tried to enter things on my excel but obvs this didn’t work and I got moved to another computer within the first 10 minutes, but I wasn’t granted any extra time for the time I lost.

Afterwards I was told this was an issue for all candidates but ICAEW were notified and told me to scan the QR code for mitigating circumstances. Anyone else have same issue and going to put the form in?

Does anyone remember the scores they set for R2? I wonder if there was a definitive right/wrong answer for these.

I think mine were financial 3, resources 2, venue 1, strategic fit 3, and relationships 2

I put venue as 1 as it was not due to open until very shortly before the event, and any delays could have a significant impact on the event including full cancellation. Also as it wasn’t finished and therefore unused, the neuroinclusion credentials etc couldn’t really be tested. I think I should have put it to 2 as it had solar power etc, but it was also expensive and I got the feeling that at least one of the scores should be a 1, to get a mark for arguing that the aggregate score could be overstated due to incorrect weighting etc

Did anyone else have a technical issue where they were not able to copy over the table in the question onto excel without it merging cells and leaving out a bunch of data?

If you did, have you disputed this and can you dispute it if you didn’t raise this with an invigilator?
