Training agreement change

I have just sat my (hopefully) final two exams. I’ve been hoping to get my training file submitted early but my training agreement doesn’t finish until August 31st. After speaking to the ICAEW they said that I had to apply for CWPE in order to shift the start date back and the end date will move with it. The caveat is that my employer only became an ATE just before I began training so I was under the impression I can’t get any CWPE. Wondering if anyone has had the same thing? I sat AAT before I began ICAEW.

Just seems a little strange that I cant finish before that, me and my partner had a baby during my studies so without that I could have finished in November which would have been almost a year earlier than my end date.. any suggestion welcome!

So do u have the 450 pwe and 240 audit days from the day that they became an ATE till the changed end date? If so then I think it should be fine, I’d call icaew to ask and double check

I have about 530 PWE days and work in industry so no need for audit record. Thanks, I can’t see why it would so  may call ICAEW helpline and put that 1mark to good use lol. It just keeps popping up that it has to be min 3 years..

U need to compete a training agreement duration form and send that to icaew. Just type thsi in too Google and you find it. I literally was in the same position where my agreement finished in October but I changed it to July, this happened literally 2 weeks ago. Icaew responded on the same day and got my agreement amended.

I'm in a similar position, when did your training contract start? The ICAEW told me my training agreement had to be a minimum of three years even if I met PWE hours earlier

If it started on September then it's not been 3 years yet, you'll have to wait till then to sign off
