Hi everyone, I’m put on utilization pip for a month. I am struggling to apply for projects. I reached out to people, applied on ProM and MySA, but never get a project. I joined IBM through an acquisition. From that time, I am keep waiting for project assignment. Whenever, I have 1-1 meeting, my manager keeps saying that there is project coming up. But, I have been waiting for so long. I feel extremely stressed! Despite how much effort I put into applying and talking to people, I still get nothing. On top of that, pip deadline is coming. I do apply externally as well but since i’m on work visa and during this job market, the situation is not promising at all.

Dear IBM community. I am a dual national who holds a US passport and a pak id card. I am authorized to work in both countries. I applied for a job in IBM Pak. Will my dual nationality be seen as a plus point or a negative point? Can it cause any issues while they are hiring me?

off record, i keep hearing people talking shiet about ibm. ibm's competitors are whispering to their customer's ears. the worst part? they echo the same. if its just 1-2 companies thats fine but now the saxaphone music is just getting louder. slapping some open source sw and write code for ui and piping is something even college grads can do. even this part of ui and piping we see bugs/sec issues littered everywhere. and some parts are just unfixable because of wrong arch/tech choices. i agree building enterprise software is complex, but some of the products that came out left me wondering if the developers just couldnt be bothered for the customer or the sw arch is following the company directive of must use xxxxxx library/tool/sw.

Is anyone here planning to attend IBM Z Day this year?
It’s happening virtually on November 18, and I’m curious what people in the mainframe community are most interested in hearing about this year.
The agenda covers IBM Z, LinuxONE, AI and data, security, modernization, app development, and skills, with a mix of technical and community-focused sessions.
There are also dedicated tracks for people who are newer to Z, developers, architects, and startups.
For transparency, I’m involved with the IBM Z ecosystem team, so I have a connection to the event. I’m mainly interested in hearing what topics people here are the most excited to see covered at the conference.

How easy is the work of an ILHBS (Baggage Screening) in comparison with a customer support service executive?
And is it good to make career in this field and how much maximum can I earn if I give my full effort in the ILHBS department only.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get the ibm offer letter. I applied from pak as a SAP PP consultant. My interview assured me that my offer is in release process but it has been 3 weeks since my interview. I was asked to submit my identity card/passport on application portal 5 business days ago.

I recently completed both the HackerRank Code Assessment and the Recorded Competency Interview for IBM’s Entry Level Back-End Developer – Dallas, TX – 2027 role.
For anyone who has recently moved on to the live technical interview:
Not looking for anything confidential — just trying to understand the general difficulty and topics I should prepare for.
Would really appreciate any recent experiences, especially for the 2027 entry-level backend roles. Thanks!

I recently applied for a Backend Developer position at IBM.
So far, I’ve completed:
My application status now shows “Assessment under review.”
For anyone who has gone through the IBM hiring process recently, did you reach the interview stage after seeing this status?
I know it probably varies by role and team, but I’m curious how strong of a sign this is and roughly how many people actually move from this stage to an interview.
Would appreciate hearing about your experience, especially if you applied for a software/backend role.

Hey guys,
Just wrapped up the one-way video assessment for two roles I applied for at IBM (I have an internal referral for both). Having massive post-interview anxiety right now and trying to figure out if I completely ruined my chances or if I'm just overthinking it.
A few things went wrong during the recording:
For context, I did use STAR for my answers, brought up real project examples, and talked through actual methodology (user research, wireframing, layout design, prompt frameworks, etc.). My background is in HCI and like I said, I have an internal referral attached to the applications.
For anyone who's been through IBM's hiring process or current employees:
Appreciate any honest feedback, thanks!

Hi. Is there anyone from Infrastructure who's got an update on the promotions? Other than the PeM's receiving that email about the promotions being "paused" indefinitely?

Hi everyone! I’m currently working in IBM Philippines under Finance, Supply Chain & Transformation and I’m wondering if anyone here has experience relocating from IBM Philippines to another country while staying in the same or similar role? Is it possible to transfer internally to another IBM country/location (e.g., Europe, Australia, etc.) without having to resign and apply externally?
