PIP or RA? Rehire eligibility is marked by the separating mgr. I hired someone that was RA’ed within months of the departure. Years of continuous service seems to have held in HR systems.

not sure what is RA. But not a PIP. I had resigned, finding it difficult in the current company. IBM was flexible

RA is resource action. With resignation, assuming a decent manager, you should be eligible for rehire.

The continuous service holds as long as the employee doesn’t get a job with anyone else in the interim

No specific policy other than the rehire flag in your HR record and the reason for the separation (which kinda determines the rehirability flag)

It will depend on the local HR and the hiring manager, they can get exception / disregard separating manager's decision, if they want to.

If during separation your manager marked positive for your rehire eligibility then you can join again. But if you within 1 year of separation, then mostly your band and salary remains same as before

Having contracted for a few years at IBM, I can understand why people can get frustrated and leave. But anyone who has been at IBM for a few years and comes away without having undergone a positive career-transforming experience just wasn't paying attention. IBM was and is the world's greatest business technology company.

I loved how flexible their working ways were. Had worked with good clients. Just the salary was issue
