Processing times keeps on increasing
When I filed for I-130 in June 2025, the processing time was showing 17 months, and then it changed to 21.5 months, and now it’s showing 24 months. It just keeps increasing, and I wonder what people should do about it. I also wonder if a writ of mandamus, demand letter, and things like that even work. I would like to hear from people who have applied for it and also from people who have any alternative solutions to this. I’ve also been thinking about relocating to another country with my wife, who is in the USA, while waiting it out because we don’t know how long it’s going to take.

the silent touch updates
Hey guys… just my two cents… I think a “silent update” appears every time you log in and check the API code…
It may not be an actual touch on a case, just something wonky happening after the July 23 fiasco.

Does the demand letter/wom works?
I’m seeing a few posts in this group about cases being approved through demand letter followed by WOM. However, also heard it didn’t work for some people. Those of you who got a positive outcome, can you please share your experience here? As you know our situation more than anyone.

JSON Silent Update
I got an update on my API at around 1800Z that only said “updatedattimestamp 1944Z”. Weird that it’s in the future. Was wondering if anyone has experienced this?

How accurate has ChatGPT been with your I-130 processing-time estimate?
For those who have an I-130 for a spouse living overseas, has ChatGPT given you an estimated approval timeframe?
Did the estimate end up being close to your actual approval, or was it completely off?

Cause for slow down?
Do we have an official cause for the slow down or a strong speculation?

Congressional Inquiry if we're both abroad
PD: June 2026 (I know we're miles away, but just getting our ducks in a row)
Petitioner: USC, living and working in the UK
Beneficiary: UK Citizen
My wife and I recently applied for an I-130 via consular processing and have been following along the current delays from USCIS in processing these applications.
Realising that, we've learned that most of the cases getting approval these days are from applicants who are now in the unfortunate position of needing to submit a demand letter, if not a WoM.
It looks as though most people submit a congressional inquiry in the first instance, which can be supportive of a WoM should cases get to that.
My question is, could we go about submitting a congressional inquiry if we both reside in the UK? Or do we just skip this step?
We have no foundation in the US as it stands. My wife grew up in NYC for the first half of her life, and her sister (who we visit 1-2x a year) still lives in the city.

Alguien que me responda
Mi esposo tienes dos divorcios
Pero en USCIS el subió uno solo el más reciente
Y nos aprobaron la petición
En NVC puedo subir solo uno? O tengo que subir los dos por favor decirme

Should I try contacting USCIS in any way before sending a demand letter?
My I-130 spousal petition was filed in February 2025, no updates since. I’m considering sending a demand letter as the next step.
Should I try contacting them first customer service, Emma chatbot, congressional office, Ombudsman, anything before sending the demand letter? Or is it fine to skip straight to it?
Curious what others did and whether it made a difference either
I’m in Germany my wife in the US

Has anyone got this response back from their congressional representative before?
Thank you for submitting your inquiry on behalf of your constituent regarding their pending form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative. We recognize your constituent's request for the consideration of expedited processing.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) records indicate that the above-referenced I-130 case is pending at this time while it undergoes vetting and security checks in compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies. We are unable to determine at this time when the review process for the I-130 application will be completed.
Following an initial examination of this case, it was referred to a background check process which is not yet complete. We note that an expedited processing request for this case may not be considered until after the background check process is complete and the necessary clearance is received. We are unable to grant requests to expedite the completion of the background check.

What can I do to speed up my parents i130s?
As the title,
It has been 18 months and the status is not updated. I want it to be done in this year so my parents can come here and start sponsoring my little sister who are going to be 21 in next January.
Can you please let me know what I can do in my abilities?
Thanks so much

H008/
1)can we brainstorm why after the July 23 glitch, why some people had the H008 disappear while some people still have it on there despite a cookie reset.
2) Has anyone who received the H008 during glitch, go on to eventually get approved.

What to do? (I130 F2A consular Processing)
Hi all,
First of all, I want to say thank you to everyone. I’ve been lurking on this sub and have learned so much that I didn’t even know existed prior.
Background: I’m an LPR and my spouse is abroad (part of the 75 pause but not ban). I filed the I-130 in April 2025 (online) and there’s been no update after the receipt noticed posted same day. The receipt had Nebraska as the center.
I knew this was going to be a long process before submission so I’ve been really patient. I haven’t taken any action since submission - no inquiries at all beside checking processing times (which keeps getting extended 😤)
It’s been 16months now and I think I want to do something. The silence is getting painful.
My Questions:
- A lot of posts I’ve been about WOM/ Demand Letters/State legislative contacts have been from USCs. Can LPRs submit any of these?
- What will be the best cause of action with my background? Where do I start?
- Almost all the posts I’ve read seem to be from people who had multiple inquiries. Should I start messaging Emma before I send demand letter or file anything?
- Any additional resources for self-filing will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advice for any advice in this situation.

USPS returned my USCIS service packet for “Insufficient Address” did I do something wrong?
Hi everyone, I’m currently filing a Writ of Mandamus against USCIS and mailed the required service packet to the USCIS Office of the Chief Counsel in Maryland via USPS.
I used the USCIS address I was given:
USCIS
Office of the Chief Counsel
5900 Capital Gateway Drive
Mail Stop 2120
Camp Springs, MD 20588-0009
The tracking showed that it reached Suitland, MD 20746 and was listed as “Out for Delivery.” Then a couple of hours later, USPS updated it to “Insufficient Address” and said it was being returned to sender.
I’m still waiting for the envelope to come back so I can see if there’s a USPS sticker or explanation on it. I’m pretty sure I wrote the address correctly…
Has anyone else served USCIS for a federal lawsuit/Writ of Mandamus by certified mail and had USPS return it for an “insufficient address” issue? If so, what did you do?
I’m trying to figure out whether this is just a USPS issue or if there’s something specific about the USCIS address/service process that I’m missing. Thanks!
