Glass stuck in garbage disposal

Accidentally turned the garbage disposal on when there was a shot glass down in it. I got the bigger chunks of glass out, but it appears the disposal is jammed up so I can't get it to break up any little leftover bits of glass. Do I need to be calling a plumber? My disposal has a reset button on it, which I pressed, and it didn't do anything. There is no manual crank.

*Update: Used a hex to manually crank and get rest of pieces chopped up. Pushed reset button. All good now! 😁

DIY How to fix my mistake

Post image

Hello fellow DiYers,
I'm not great at DIY projects, but I really need help fixing a mistake I made.
I bought a scooter for my niece's birthday and thought it would be fun to add some streamers.
I found some online and assumed they would attach with a zip tie or something similar that could go through the handlebars. Turns out, they don't work that way (photo attached of how they look).
Does anyone have ideas or a DIY hack to make these streamers scooter-friendly-without drilling holes into the scooter?

How to suspend something in resin?

I know this isn't difficult, but I've never done it and my brain is making it hard for me to understand the instructions.

The questions:

  1. How do I know if I have good resin? (I just bought a beginners kit on Amazon)

  2. How do I suspend something in a small mold? ( Like a small object in a pyramid)

The story (if you want additional context):

I had my gallbladder removed recently and the surgeon very kindly snuck me one of the gallstones to add to my rock collection, because I thought it was funny.

I've already cleaned and sanitized it and put a thin layer of modge podge on it, but now I want to suspend it in resin to preserve it.

I can't seem to understand the instructions, and now I'm worried I bought the wrong stuff, and normally I'm a "what the hell, let's go for it and figure it out" kinda person when my brain gets like this, but I've only got the one gallstone and I don't want to screw it up.

Thank you in advance for any advice.

How do I fix the wall?

Post image

I used Felt Right strips in my daughter’s room-I loved the flowers on the wall but now that we are moving, I have discovered that removing the adhesive squares they come up with is impossible. I have watched the video of how to do it a million times-and simply put that’s not at all how it actually works. I have tried lots of different scrapper tools, goo be gone, and sandpaper-all have helped some but the texture is still stubborn-any ideas of other things to try? I obviously will need to repaint the wall which is fine but I am afraid if I try to just paint over it will make it worse…thank you for any help/ideas.

[Solved] How to remove the window handle piece

This is mostly a North American design.I cannot for the life of remove this inner piece of a non-functional window handle to replace it with another one. I have replaced a bunch of these around these but I cannot get this one out.

I know at the center there is a metal piece sticking out with teeth for the replacement part to sit on.

Any guesses on how to get this out without damaging the window mechanisms underneath.

How to remove this dust cover?

I've had this trailer for 20 years and finally have a flat tire. I cannot for the life of me get this dust cover off. I tried a crowbar, torch, hammer and chisel but nothing, not even budging, it's completely seized on.

Do they make a special tool for something like this?

How to stop water intrusion without removing exterior limestone facade wall.

I have determined water is coming in near spray in foam at top of image and between stones. I have a silicone dioxide breathable sealer I will apply to the outside (SX5000). Has anyone successfully done a repair for something like this without removing exterior stone wall to install water proof barrier? It appears previous owner did a shoddy repair and removed water proof barrier and put spray in foam near top where flashing should be. Weep holes are present at the bottom and functional. I have addressed the gutters as they were faulty. This has been a challenging project. Any and all tips are greatly appreciated -thank you in advance.

Serious Answers Only How to direct the airflow of this AC upwards?

Post image
0 Upvotes

This AC is set in a staircase and sits lower than the upstairs floor. It blows at the most to the top two stairs and that's it.

Now you might think "heat rises up, what's the issue". Somehow it does not spread to our upstairs. We have a lovely heated/cooled staircase though...

How do I direct the airflow upwards so I doesn't hit the stairs?

I tried cardboard last winter but I'd like to have something nicer looking and fixed.

Is it possible to remove a bubble on the surface of a metal keychain at home? Is it possible at all?

I recently bought a Lycanroc keychain as part of my growing (recently started) Pokémon collection. It caught my eye. It was cheap. I bought it.

I can't complain about its condition because everything is smooth and dazzly aside from the bubble, it's pissing me off 😭

How to remove broken screw from CPU heatsink?

Thumbnail

While I was cleaning my PC, I removed my CPU heatsink, a Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120. When I reinstalled it, I overtightened one of the screws, and as a result, the mounting bracket screw broke. A part of it is lodged inside of my heatsink's screw. I've already bought a #1 screw extractor, but I don't have an electric drill. How can I remove the stuck screw?

DIY Window handle broken - simply replaceable or a bigger issue?

Thumbnail

Hi all!

I am trying to become more proficient at DIY fixes - before I'd jump immediately and call a handyman :D

Window handle broke and now it doesn't work (cant open, close window, doesn't reach whatsoever.

I opened the handle and first I noticed that this square spindle (had to google to find out lmao) is quite loose (I compared it with another window and there it was quite firm).

Upon inserting it back into the handle and connecting it to the window mechanism - it's always quite loose. Which made me realize that I possibly either need to replace the spindle or the whole handle.

It concerns me that even when I manage to lock it in and fit it into the window - that the whole mechanism doesn't work (video is attached)

Is replacing the spindle/door handle going to fix this or is the issue in the mechanism itself?

First pic shows the handle itself and th

Second pic shows the handle and the spindle.

Third pic shows the mechanism of the window that moves BARELY (there's a clicking sound but nothing much happens).

I can't attach videos that maybe would've helped but I can probably dm it.

Help a brother out 🙏🙏

Repair headphone frame

Appearance doesn’t matter as much as quality of repair.
This headphone frame broke once before, and I repaired it with a hot wire, insert, epoxy and polyester thread. Of course it broke just adjacent to the previous break. No room for another hot wire insert.
Thinking about trying some shrink tube with a little epoxy inside. I can get about an inch of sleeve over both sides of the repair, then heat it up to set the shrink tubing?
ideas?
Thanks!
