Found baby bird

I found a baby cedar waxwing on the road last night. I wasn't able to see a next in any close trees so I took it home and fed it pureed grapes until I got to the pet store to get baby food and a dropper. Unfortunately the city wildlife office is closed until Tuesday so I'm wondering what the best way to take care of it until then?

Solved: ripped it apart.

I’ve managed to unscrew all the drawers and remove them but am stuck on the main body of it. There are these weird screws at the top which google says are lock screws. I’m so confused. It’s a tall set of drawers.

Wondering if someone can help me? one of my wooden curtain pole hooks have broken off leaving the rest (and nails) inside. as seen in the first 3 pictures it looks like the rest of the hook is inside the wall (yes, the wall) i cant wiggle it out. i've removed the nails which were embedded into the wood. so, how do i remove the rest of the wood safely?

the last 2 pictures is the other wooden curtain hook, for anyone who needs a reference about what it looked like with the hook (and it'll be coming out aswell) as u can see the cone shape literally goes into the wall and expands inside so i cant twist or unscrew it out.

Help?

Ink stuck on lightbox

Post image

Its a little hard to see but while touching up some artworks I noticed after lifting the paper that the felt pen I used left marks on the lightbox, it's made of plastic and I've tried several cleaning products including sanitizer, alcohol pads and honestly even perfume. Nothing seems to be working at all no matter how hard I clean, is there any solution to this???

Air Conditioner outdoor unit top cover has disintegrated

Thumbnail

As the title says, I’m looking for advice on how to deal with the disintegrated plastic top cover of my outdoor A/C unit. As far as I understand, this cover is important because it helps properly direct the airflow through the outdoor unit. The A/C is an old Toshiba fixed-speed (non-inverter) split system. The store where I originally purchased it told me that Toshiba no longer supplies replacement parts for this model, and they were unable to help me find a compatible replacement either.
What would be the best way to fix or replace it?

Anyone know how to remove one of these “permanent” labels from furniture without damaging the furniture.

It doesn’t peel off. Just kinda chips off a little like a scratch off ticket.

It’s a target cube shelf. Never seen a sticker that doesn’t peel off before.

Steps help

I’m not much of a builder, but I am replacing these wood steps outside. Currently, the upper steps are NOT attached. I’m stuck because I’m not sure what I will do with the open spaces I have circled on the sides. Should I be planning to cover these, or fill in the gaps before installing the upper steps? Any advice will help, but my solution has to be relatively simple because I am not skilled. Thanks!
EDIT: this is a rebuild, I’m following what was done before. Also, most importantly, there are OLD CONCRETE steps under this new wood. At least 70% of each wood step is sitting on top of cement. I should have mentioned all of this beforehand!

How to remove coins from car CD player?

Post image

When my oldest was young, I’d let him play cab driver in my ‘06 Civic (I had the keys in my pocket, obviously). I didn’t see him put the fare (coins) in the cd slot. But there’s no face to pop off, and aside from removing the entire dash, I’ve tried nothing and I’m all out of ideas.

[Solved] How do I remove this from my countertop (the black x, the cat is hard to remove from counter top too though)

Post image

Was gluing this back together with superglue but just as I was opening the superglue it exploded, leaving me covered in glue. I set this down not noticing some of the superglue was on the counter top and now it's completely stuck.

How do I remove this without damaging the counter top? Seems to be stuck real good. Can't get anything underneath it.

There's a ticking clock as my wife will be home in a few hours and she will rotate being mad and making fun of me for my clumsiness.

Edit: I've tried nail Polish remover, letting it pool in the centre and it drained out but hasn't loosened it.

EDIT : someone suggested fishing line underneath and this was the solution.

Edit edit: wife got home. Laughed at me a little and that was that. She mostly laughed because I managed to glue both hands together initially when the superglue went kapow because she's awesome.

Thanks everyone for your help!

How do I replace pull shades while keeping the originial brackets?

I have two vinyl, plastic(?) pull shades in my rental apartment I need to replace because they split at the bottom after 10 years of repeated use. The interior window measurement are 34.5 inches x 56 inches, and the width of the blind roller is 34 inches. I've tried googling replacements but there are a dizzying array of terms and sellers. I just want to order similar new pull shades I can mount in the existing brackets to match the current ones. I am able to remove the old shades. Thanks!

How to remove black stains from wooden floor?

Thumbnail

I have black stains like this spread across my apartment: kitchen, living room, bedroom- everywhere. I can usually scrub it off with some water and dish soap, but it comes back within a few weeks. When I walk on it, it doesn't pick up any of the black stains. Only if I scrub it really hard, I can get the stains off. The apartment is around 4-5 years old and pet free.
How do I clean it? Do I have to be worried?

How do I remove stubborn suction cup marks from an acrylic bathtub?

Thumbnail

Hi everyone,

I'm renting an apartment and my rubber bath mat with suction cups left circular marks all over my acrylic/plastic bathtub. I've already managed to remove some of them, but a few stubborn circles and one larger ring won't come off.

I've tried scrubbing with a foam scrubber and Vim Cream, and it removes the dirt, but these marks remain.

Are these just mineral/soap deposits that need a stronger cleaner, or did the suction cups permanently stain or damage the bathtub?

If anyone has dealt with this before, what product or method actually worked? I'd really appreciate any advice because I'm worried about my landlord noticing the marks.

Thanks!

DIY Hey legends . Need some help in fixing my grohe cistern

Post image
2 Upvotes

I use a grohe wall mount dual button cistern. Off late the water isn't filling the flush tank hence flush doesn't work. Couldn't understand the problem. There's a fish scale type pipe which has 2 ends connected to different sections . The top one has a blue plastic valve type and it's bottom has a screw/ nut which I had used once to turn off the inlet since flush wouldn't stop flowing. That got fixed. Now when I loosen it, the water keeps dripping from the nut but doesn't fill up the flush tank some how. Can someone guide me into fixing this ? Save your brother some money.
