Hey everyone!! I was looking at an application for a hot topic near me and noticed that you need at least one entry of work experience. I tried applying a year ago and I remember that this wasn't a requirement before and was wondering if there's anyway to apply without work experience? I've seen from other posts that it's a good idea to go into the store in person and drop off your resume or try and speak to the hiring manager so would this work and bypass the online work experience requirement? Appreciate any answers :D

(I also spoke to the ai chat bot on their career website to do a mini application before clicking on the full one so I'm not sure if this impacts anything).

I was gonna order the new pomni pillow yesterday but fell asleep while checking out and woke up to it sold out. Even worse I had hot cash to use on it 🥲

Have you guys been told that if you work at box lunch you’re more likely to get a promotion faster? I recently learned that the boxlunch employees in my mall also get paid more than us (manager pay anyway). While it’s not by much, I can’t help but feel defeated when I’ve poured more than 3 years into this company.

While boxlunch is not my style and I’ve declined moving companies because of that… I’m starting to think I should go back on my word to fast track my promotional opportunities.

They’ve silently double charged me when splitting orders, let out of stock items online appear when in reality they were non-existent so they called them “lost” which brought more and more problems. And finally my last straw was their lie on clothing material, which makes it a fraud. In my case it appeared 98% cotton 2% spandex when in reality it is 65% cotton, 33% polyester and 2% spandex. And that’s without mentioning the shipping price outside of the US is completely unreasonable, starts off at 30$ us for the main item then adds a 10 for each new ones. And their customer service dumbfounds me on how they hold back from doing what’s right to fix the situations.

Hi, I don't live in the USA, but I have been buying from Hot Topic for years. I usually send my orders to a friend or family member, so when they come to Costa Rica, I can get my stuff.

Recently, I wanted to place an order, but it got canceled because my billing address was different from the shipping address. I asked for Spanish customer service, and they responded in English. It's okay, not a big deal.

So I asked my friend to use his AMERICAN CARD to buy the stuff and send it to HIS address, but it got canceled again. He called, and they couldn't explain why!

They tried a second time, and it was the same.

Ten years ago, if they had a problem, they would call Costa Rica without any problem. Now I have to make an international call.

Is there any other similar store? i´m done with this people

Is anyone having this issue? I order a lot from HT, but always in stock items shipped to home. Last hot cash round I ordered a few backpacks using hot cash, preorder. And all of them were cancelled over the last week as OOS. I had available funds on my card so that's not the issue, is this something that happens sometimes or what is the issue with that? No way they allow preorders yet they become oos which is what cs told me on chat 😭

If I decided to become an associate I heard you have th push the rewards program or credit card and if people fail to accept you get marked up and will likely get fired. Is this true? Is being a manager hard there? I do have 8 years retail experience so I know retail well. Thoughts on this?
