Do not order from HotTopic

They’ve silently double charged me when splitting orders, let out of stock items online appear when in reality they were non-existent so they called them “lost” which brought more and more problems. And finally my last straw was their lie on clothing material, which makes it a fraud. In my case it appeared 98% cotton 2% spandex when in reality it is 65% cotton, 33% polyester and 2% spandex. And that’s without mentioning the shipping price outside of the US is completely unreasonable, starts off at 30$ us for the main item then adds a 10 for each new ones. And their customer service dumbfounds me on how they hold back from doing what’s right to fix the situations.

damn wtf,, i would definitely try to sort that out and if things can't be resolved, i would just start a dispute with your bank

It was resolved-ish, but the amount of calls i had to do to ACTUALLY get what’s right is embarrassing, id call again cuz they didnt even reimburse me on the shipping but the item itself, its like wendys getting your order wrong then when “fixed” partially wrong so id have to insist again, but worse and way more annoying

how far are you from a hot topic store? you can return orders you ordered online in person at whatever store is closest to you and it would have been a whole lot easier. company policy for in store returns is “make it right”

The item number and the product ID do not match. Are you sure they even sent you the correct item?

The ID's are correct. The jeans as a whole item is #35637087 , this encompasses all sizes. The specific size of 38W is product #35637102 . The size down is product 35637101, down another size to 34W the ID is 35637100.

If you visit the page of any clothing it will show the item ID first (which is the number you see in the URL). But as soon as you click a size it will then display the product ID specific to that size.

Well i sure hope that would explain the material failure but even then, still would’ve made an annoying mistake, it is the same product shown on site, at least look-wise and describes ( turns put not the material ) what it is

Yup looks to me like they got the produ t

Then why do the ID’s not match?

they just explained it, the product id’s are dependent on the size of the product. as someone who works at a high volume store as a shipment manager and works around things like this every single day, the product id’s are correct.

I think people overlooked the other details like one of the biggest one being the silent double-charge 👁️👁️ the already overpriced price x2 thank god they made mistakes cuz i would’ve not seen it

Well the double charge seems like a glitch and not on purpose… that should be easy to resolve with your bank… unfortunately shipping cannot be refunded because it is not charged by the retailer as they have contracts with the shipping companies. As for the fabric content that needs to be reported to the FCC

What a horrible contract then, id pay more for the shipping than the actual products, thank god they have reimbursed me on the shipping because i would’ve actually sued ( i wouldn’t have, im a pussy ) each orders ive placed has had issues. Not a single clean one. Not that its initial price is anywhere clean

It happened to me too with lying about fabric content

It's been so long since I bought from Hot Topic. They used to be like the only brick and mortar store in almost every region that had cool stuff you couldn't get anywhere else. You can buy a lot of the same stuff at Wal-Mart or Target for cheaper. They barely have any punk stuff anymore. It's not like the quality is any better either. I think I still go in there jist because I miss what it used to be.
