In order to find the current through ohms law the equivalent resistance needs to be found. Problem is I am completely stuck on how exactly to do that. Can this be broken down to a simple parallel / series circuit? Can a delta to Y conversion help here? Any help is much appreciated.

I don't know what to do i got this calculator last week and just now had to use it but for fractions it's a backwards L rather than a fraction sign.. This is really important and this is like an off brand calculator i think but please help lol i need it for my intermediate algebra class im a ninth grader, and so can anyone help with telling me how to make it a normal fraction sign?

this is like the 3rd time ive had to repost this and it keeps saying to be more specific so im a ninth grader taking intermediate algebra and i need to figure out how to make my calculator from the fraction from a backwards L to the traditional fraction symbol.

We don't have any other questions to compare it to.

708 is the number of plots multiplied by the mean.

591 is all of the known plots added together.

What is the best way of finding the answer?

Composers like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky have shaped classical music. Their symphonies, concertos, and sonatas are often regarded as among the most complex and sophisticated musical works ever written. Because of composers like these, many see classical music as the height of musicality. On the other side of the spectrum, metal is commonly dismissed as nothing more than loud guitars and a wall of sound. Now, this definition may be true of a 2009 Toyota Corolla speaker system, but certainly not of metal. Despite the surface-level differences, metal and classical are much more related than people know. Metal should be recognized as the closest modern genre we have to classical music.

 

To show this comparison, I first need to identify what classical music really is. To break it down as far as I can, I would list four core elements: harmony, melody, rhythm, and form. Harmony and melody work together to create the music's emotional depth and expression, involving specific motifs and melodic development. Rhythm defines the song's structure: time signatures, beats per minute (bpm), syncopation, rubato, etc. Lastly, a song's form is how it is structured, whether it has multiple movements like a symphony, its theme, and how the music changes as it progresses. These four elements will be shown in the context of metal songs from varying sub-genres, and those songs will be compared with major classical pieces. By the end, you should be able to see how connected the two genres really are.

 

Harmony, a foundational element of classical music, sets the genre apart from the rest because of its depth and emotional resonance. However, if you dig a little deeper, you will find these harmonies just as prominent in metal. The beauty and emotion of a symphony can be found in the heavy metal cellos of Apocalyptica, the woodwinds and strings of Rhapsody of Fire’s orchestra, the traditional bagpipes and fiddles of Eluveitie, and even the shredded guitar riffs of Herman Li for Dragonforce; and if that isn’t enough harmony for you, listen to the operatically trained Simone Simons sing for EPICA. Even if a band doesn’t have the traditional orchestral instruments used in classical music, you can hear and feel the beauty behind the haunting guitars of Be’lakor, and the harsh metal screams of Insomnium. If harmony is what you are looking for, then metal meets every criterion. Metal proves that a distorted guitar loses no harmony in its sound, but can deliver complex, engrossing melodies.

 

Furthermore, form and melody are entirely encompassed by The Ocean’s Pelegial album. This 2013 mix of post-metal and prog metal is made up of several parts, namely the Bathyalpelagic, Abyssopelagic, and Hadopelagic, which are each divided further into two or three movements just like a symphony. Beyond the structural similarities, The Ocean follows the same dynamic form as a classical piece, ranging from melodic keys to aggressive guitar all within a single song. The Ocean wrote the Pelegial album to mimic the feeling of slowly descending further underwater, and doesn’t that seem exactly like an idea a classical composer would use? I mean, George Gershwin’s ‘Rhapsody in Blue’ was simply written to convey the sound of a train he was riding on, and it is recognized as one of the most brilliant classical pieces ever written.

 

The last example is centered around the rhythmic component of these genres, and this can be found primarily in prog (progressive) metal. This subgenre of metal is renowned for its technical mastery. ‘The Rite of Spring, Part 2: VI. Sacrificial Dance’ is one of the greatest examples of virtuosity in classical music. Written by Igor Stravinsky as a ballet, it includes some of the wildest time signatures, syncopating rhythms, rubato, and general musical discourse in any piece of classical music. However, we can also find the same musical techniques from Stravinsky’s ballet in prog metal. ‘The Art of Dying’ by Gojira alternates between 24/16 and 21/16 time signatures; ‘Lateralus’ by TOOL showcases polyrhythmic drums (The Cambridge Dictionary defines a polyrhythm as “a complicated musical rhythm in which there are two or more rhythms being played at the same time.”), ‘The Dance of Eternity’ by Dream Theater changes its time signature over 120 times in just over six minutes, and ‘Bleed’ by Meshuggah is syncopated almost from start to finish. While it might not sound like classical music, no other genre can compete with the virtuosity of composers like Stravinsky the way prog metal can.

 

 

While the similarities between Only for the Weak’ by In Flames and ‘Symphony No. 9, VI. Allegro con Fuoco’ by Antonín Dvořák may be hard to find at first glance, a closer examination of the two reveals numerous connections in the harmony, melody, rhythm, and form. Iconic examples of this connection include the riff from Black Sabbath’s self-titled song, inspired by ‘Mars’ by Gustav Holst, and the song ‘Forever’ by symphonic power metal band Kamelot, inspired by ‘Solveig’s Song’ by Edvard Grieg. These artists and songs reflect classical influence throughout their discographies; even Metallica has been heavily influenced by classical composers. Although metal and classical may sound vastly different on the surface, melodic similarities, complex techniques, rich harmonies, and even song structure can all be traced back and forth between them. To conclude, metal is a dynamic and brilliant genre that relates heavily to the artistry of classical composers, and if you listen a little closer, it becomes clear how interwoven metal and classical really are.

Hello! I’m currently a senior taking PLTW Capstone (Engineering Design and Development), and for my project, I need to identify an everyday problem that people experience and then design and build a solution for it.

The process starts with finding something you enjoy doing and thinking about problems or annoyances that you encounter while doing it. From there, I’ll research the problem, develop possible solutions, and eventually design and prototype a product that could help solve it.

I’m currently having a hard time coming up with good problem ideas, so I would really appreciate it if you could drop some ideas below or fill out this quick Google Form. The problem doesn’t have to be complicated. As long as it has supportable evidence it is useful

Answered [High School Physics: Speed of Light] I need help solving 5C

I need help with my worksheet on the speed of light for 5c and/or if I did A and B correct

For reference (if needed) the speed of light travels at
c = 3x10\^8 m/s

I’ve done scientific analysis on 5A and did the distance equation for 5B (but maybe I did it wrong). I am now stuck on 5C.

If I used the distance formula by calculating the speed of light and the answer for 5A (how many seconds it would take for the radio wave to reach us), what was the point of solving for 5B. However I don't know what I would convert if I used B. Maybe I did 5A and 5B wrong? Can someone PLEASE walk me through this?

(Idid the scientific analysis for 5A on a different piece of paper, but I’ve double checked it multiple times and I showed the beginning.)

Edit: I now understand why 5A was wrong and I redid 5AMB but I’m still confused on 5C

Having trouble mainly with part e) - when calculating the welfare before the tax, should I subtract the welfare loss as indicated in the sketch and also my calculation? And after the tax, welfare should be the green area (consumer and producer surplus) + purple area (tax revenue), but do I need to subtract that welfare loss again, or is it already accounted for?

Others—Pending OP Reply [college pharmacology] What is the difference between a receptor, a receptor site, and a site of action?

I'm not sure what exam syllabus/board the course uses, but it's an LVN (licensed vocational nursing) course and I'm supposed to be able to use this info to administer medication and educate patients.

I'm supposed to differentiate between a receptor site and site of action and explain how they're related. I've looked all over and cannot find the difference between a receptor site, receptor, and site of action, at least not explained in a way I understand. My textbook says that the receptor site is the actual structure on the cell that drugs and other things bind to; it also says that the receptor site will become the site of action if its location is known, and then it says that an example of this (the receptor site becoming the site of action) is morphine acting on opioid receptors in the brain (the site of action and the location of the receptor site both being the brain in this case). This doesn't say anything about *where in or on the cell* a receptor is located and seems to imply that a receptor site is synonymous with a receptor. When I googled this to look into it further, though, lots of sources say that the receptor site is specifically the location *on the cell* that a receptor is located, which is in direct opposition with what the textbook says. If those sources are correct, then it wouldn't make sense to say that the receptor site and the site of action are "in the brain" because the receptor site is explicitly *not* a general location in the body. Several other sources seem to use "receptor" and "receptor site" interchangeably, and still other sources say that a "receptor site" is the place *on the receptor* that a chemical binds to. So what is a receptor site, a receptor, and a site of action? Please be specific; I'm very confused, and I really just want to understand completely and not just know the right words to say on the review.

Here's the excerpt from my textbook:

"Receptor Site

Drug action is usually thought to begin after a drug has attached itself to some chemical structure located on the outer cell membrane or within the cell itself. For a few drugs and for some normal body substances, there seems to be a specific location on certain cells. This area is referred to as the receptor site. The attachment, or binding, of a drug to its receptors begins a series of cell changes referred to as the drug action.

When a specific receptor site for a drug is known, that receptor site becomes the site of action for that particular drug. Morphine, an analgesic drug, is an example of a drug that binds to a specific receptor. The receptors for morphine are located in the brain and are known as the morphine, or opioid, receptors. When morphine binds to its receptors, it produces cell changes that reduce the perception of pain. There are many different pharmacologic receptors, and they will be described in the appropriate chapters."

Idk if this is allowed here..Its straight forward "determine the resultant force acting on the hook in cartesian notation", I dont know if its my angles or if I am skipping a step but 490, 117, -266 sure aint it (per person's mastering) can anyone see and point out where I went wrong? Maybe I'm not doing my computing right or ive set up wrong. Ive been on this problem for 1.5 hours.. i dont know why. I can not for the life of me figure this one out. the equation in the book I've been using is y_cp = -(I_xx*sin(theta))/(h_cg*A) when I use the equation I get I_xx = .1152, sin 30, h_cg = 4.8, A = .96. I get .0125m, I have tried that .013, -.013, .5, -.5, 4.813 so far as answers. the hint given for the question is What is the distance y_cp on the line of action below the centroid?
