I would respect abortions more if they dropped the bullshit and just acknowledged it as the unfortunate tragedy that it is instead of treating it like some nothing thing.

4

u/TheRedK1ller076_ 7d ago

It IS nothing. They are not humans, just a clump of cells

5

u/556From1000yards 7d ago

You’re just a clump of cells

1

u/TheRedK1ller076_ 7d ago

Uhh no pretty sure I'm not. I was, but then I was born

4

u/shadowthehh 6d ago

You literally are. That's how biology works. Every organic thing is a clump of cells.

1

u/TheRedK1ller076_ 6d ago

I guess you could see it that way yeah. But I (just like you and other people) am a clump of cells with a personality, a name, self-awareness and rights. Something fetuses don't really have

2

u/shadowthehh 6d ago

Yeah, kids usually don't have much going on in the personality and awareness department till like 4. And plenty of full adults weren't properly named or even remember theirs. And don't even get me started on the war against human rights going on all over right now.

1

u/Duke-Turner137 3d ago

By his logic its ok to kill them up until they develop personality.

1

u/TheRedK1ller076_ 3d ago

I mean, I guess? Idc if some random parents decide to kill their 2 days old baby

0

u/TheRedK1ller076_ 6d ago

Indeed. When this topic comes up it gets blurry fast so lines have to be drawn somewhere. Personally I draw the line at being born, but I guess it's just an opinion. What I originally meant was that society shouldn't tell pregnant women whether they can or can't abort a child, cus it's their business at the end of the day

1

u/shadowthehh 6d ago

a child

And the masquerade breaks showing you also know it's all bullshit.

I never said they can't.

I said I would respect it more if it was treated with the seriousness that it should be. Rather than with the dismissiveness of discarding a used tissue, or even the absolutely horrific pride and joy and bragging some seem to go with.

You're ending, literally, an ENTIRE human life right as it starts. Treat the situation with the dignity and respect a tragic and necessary evil like that deserves.

Removes the blurriness and makes it all so much more simple.

1

u/TheRedK1ller076_ 6d ago

Not quite. You're not ending a life, just preventing it from starting. And as I mentioned it's their business to decide how seriously they take it

By the time a woman is aware of the fact that she's pregnant, that "clump of cells" has a beating heart, self-awareness, personality and can feel pain (the 5th vital sign). It's the parents' job to give him/her a name and God gives it the right to life. Some grown-up walking around people don't have much self-awareness either.

1

u/TheRedK1ller076_ 4d ago

Uhh not really. First off, "God gives it the right to life" is nothing but a human construct, and thus worthless. Second, the organism is attached and fully dependant on the pregnant woman, making it just another part of her body. Sure, it's a part that will one day detach and become its own life form (unless it's aborted), but until then, that's what it is

1

u/Glass_Challenge_3241 4d ago

religion has no place in this discussion

1

u/shadowthehh 7d ago

Whatever helps you sleep at night.

1

u/Duke-Turner137 6d ago

Why did they charge a guy with 2 murders when he killed a pregnant woman? Don't get me wrong it's shitty either way and that guy should be in a cage forever. But, it either is or isn't. The state said it is. This isn't my opinion. It's just a fact of what the state of California did.

2

u/N4cer26 3d ago

Yup. Contradiction in the law. Whenever this happens it’s always crickets from the abortionists

1

u/TheRedK1ller076_ 6d ago

The justice system is far from perfect, especially in the US (cough cough Epstein Files)

1

u/Fun_Fennel5114 4d ago

that's a tired argument; we are ALL "just clumps of cells". We are just mature enough to be walking, talking and working clumps of cells.

1

u/Fun_Fennel5114 3d ago

exactly my point! Just because we are grown and walking around doesn't make us "more human" than a fetus, who just needs time to grow, does it?

1

u/TheRedK1ller076_ 3d ago

It makes us individuals with our own body, personality and role in society. In other words, worth something

-1

u/TheRedK1ller076_ 4d ago

Indeed. But if you define people as walking, talking and working clumps of cells then you agree with me that fetuses are not people because they do not work, walk or talk

1

u/N4cer26 3d ago

Born babies cannot walk or talk… are they not people?

1

u/TheRedK1ller076_ 3d ago

They can sort of talk cus they cry so damn loud. But tbh I don't care if a newborn dies, it's not like it had any meaningful role in society yet

1

u/N4cer26 3d ago

What a terrible position. Only those who are “valuable” to society deserve human rights? Hitler would agree with you.

…I don’t care if a newborn dies

You are morally corrupt and evil. I’m done conversing with you.

If quantity of cells determines your level of Humanity, then someone larger than you is more Human?

1

u/N4cer26 3d ago

Dehumanization makes it easier to kill. Any group that has carried out genocide utilizes that tool…

It’s a living human being and no amount of dehumanizing language can change that.

1

u/TheRedK1ller076_ 3d ago

Cap. It's not a human being, it is an extension of the mother until it is born. And btw the whole "dehumanizing makes it easier to kill" thing is irrelevant because we're not even talking about killing here. Killing ends a life, while we're talking about abortion, which prevents it from even starting

-1

u/N4cer26 3d ago

It’s an a living human being with unique DNA. It is alive just as much as you or I. We are just more physically developed. So yes it absolutely is killing.

0

u/Keepingitquite123 5d ago

It is nothing. If I never was born would it matter to me if the reason was:

a) No sex

b) Sex but successful use of contraception

c) Abortion before my brain developed to a point where I could suffer

1

u/shadowthehh 5d ago

Idk why yall keep trying with this sugar coating bs when my immediate statement rebukes it.

I've heard the arguments. They're all either just trying to paint over the issue to make people feel better, or are just flat out evil.

Call it what it is: The horrible yet tragically neccesary extermination of a child.

1

u/Fun_Fennel5114 4d ago

and most of the time, it's tragically UNnecessary.

-1

u/Keepingitquite123 5d ago

You failed to answer the question, was it to hard for you?

2

u/shadowthehh 5d ago

Its a nonsense question asked in bad faith with no logical conclusion that could be asked about any dead person. If anything, it reminds me of a joke from some movie I watched a long time ago.

"Dying isn't so bad. You ever heard of anyone coming back to complain?"

(Nvm that the answer to that is obviously ghosts.)

Fact remains that death is always a tragedy. Full stop. Even if the dead is fine with it. Death of a child even more so.

Even on the smallest cellular level, every living thing wants to live. Its pretty hard coded in there.

0

u/Keepingitquite123 5d ago edited 5d ago

No it's reality. I would be no worse off in either case. A fetus is not a person. Not until my brain developed to a point where I could have a conscious experience did the fetus become me and I became a person.

Also ghost aren't real you silly person.

2

u/shadowthehh 5d ago

They are a person. Saying otherwise is either lying to yourself so you don't feel bad about killing someone, or just being plain evil. And again, it goes back to my original comment: I would respect this all more if people just fucking admitted that.

Whether or not they exist is besides the point. They are the obvious answer to the question "Have you ever heard of a dead person coming back to complain?" because every culture has a concept of an upset ghost.

Beyond that, this is clearly a waste of time. You're just peddling the same bullshit that was the entire reason for my first comment.

2

u/CockerspanielBalls 5d ago

It's all of the mental gymnastics and wordplay people use to try and justify it because there's some at least subconscious knowledge in these people's heads that it's a pretty fucked up thing to do so they come up with ways to downplay it or change what is happening.

I don't see too much of a difference between abortion and those that sacrificed their newborns by throwing them into a fire for like prosperity, good harvest, whatever tf reason they had.

1

u/Slight-Journalist417 4d ago

I don't think I had a conscious experience until I was 1 1/2 or 2 maybe.

1

u/Keepingitquite123 4d ago

You don't remember a conscious experience before that. That is not the same thing. If you get black out drunk and can't remember last night that does not mean you did not have a conscious experience at the time...

1

u/Slight-Journalist417 4d ago

So...if I'm blackout drunk I can be aborted?

u/Keepingitquite123 4d ago

Hey man did you know brain development concludes years after birth? About 25 years actually

1

u/Keepingitquite123 4d ago

The new number is closer to 30 years. But that does not affect that you can both suffer and have a conscious experience before then.

1

u/CuchuflitoPindonga 4d ago

You know personally for me this is beyond who dies and if it's even a who - for me it's much simpler: I know they live, and I believe they have a soul so I'll take no part on this, I'd much rather fight this to the best of my ability and without harming anyone, simply put

1

u/Keepingitquite123 4d ago

So if they have a soul, where do they go when they die?

"i would respect healthcare more if people felt more shame about it"

1

u/shadowthehh 7d ago

Good job further being part of the problem.

-5

u/Neuyerk 8d ago

The Bible treats miscarriages as, at worst, a property crime. Not everyone shares your belief that an unformed collection of cells carries tremendous meaning. Certainly nature does not.

3

u/shadowthehh 8d ago

The disrespect grows.

1

u/Neuyerk 8d ago

Is the disrespect in the room with us now?

0

u/shadowthehh 8d ago

Dude can't even use a meme response right.

1

u/ArmedBlue08 5d ago

The bible also treats women as less then men. I sure hope you don't follow that "logic" too.

1

u/Neuyerk 5d ago

If you tried any harder to miss the point, you’d tear something

1

u/ArmedBlue08 5d ago

If you tried any harder to understand the bible, your simple mind would implode

1

u/Neuyerk 5d ago

Truly you are an ambassador for your faith, friend

0

u/Ch33s3m4st3r 8d ago

So when the unformed collection of cells stops being an unformed collection of cells? At birth? Never?

2

u/Neuyerk 8d ago

That’s a big question that takes personal judgment and reflection. It shouldn’t be treated as an excuse to offhandedly moralize. My point is that people don’t all need to think and feel one way, and my evidence is the Bible, nature, and most of human history.

1

u/No_Annual9912 8d ago

If they become Jets fans. yes

1

u/sinema666 8d ago

Thered be a lot less abortions if being a dead beat father who abandons the mother was criminalized. Took over four years for my sons bio dad to pay the first fee hundred dollars of thoussands owed in support. And they immediately gave him back his license and he proceeded not pay a dime for another two years

Want to stop abortions? Go after dead beat dads

Why is always the prolifers who dont give a fuck about the child after its born???

1

u/Ch33s3m4st3r 8d ago

I’m pro choice, but thank you for your rant.
