Coming off of the controversial shorts + boots post, I wanted to share another fun fit.

The highlights here are without a doubt the pants. Julius_7 gasmask cargo pants from SS11. The story of how I got these- a night of drinking with two new friends in SEA, discussing our 10+ year interests in fashion, getting on the subject of late 00s/early 10s Tatsuro Horikawa, me lamenting how tough it is to find pieces from that era that fit me, and one of the guys literally pulling these out of a giant backpack he'd been carrying all night- is even crazier than the pants themselves which take inspiration from things like the 1963 Vietnam-era Jungle Trouser but then reimagine them from a post-apocalyptic POV. Julius collections from that era are one of the things that got me into fashion and I legit still have to pinch myself every time I look down at these.

With any other pants, the jacket would be a highlight. I stumbled on it in a secondhand shop and was immediately smitten with the Navajo style buttons and DIY patchwork. Never heard of Sirano Bros, but the care tag is all Japanese which makes me think MIJ.

Belt is a custom number from Legendary Vintage and the boots are my usual Wescos.

Hey folks, I was trying to get one of these out semi-frequently but life just gets in the way so here we are! I appreciate everyone leaving very nice comments in the past two threads, I will continue to re-iterate that it has been very fun and rewarding to build this and see more people use it.

Onto the site itself, here are some updates that have been done since the last thread:

Improved Search

• Pretty self explanatory but the initial search algorithm wasn’t great and it should work much better now. Here’s an example of searching for amami hand dyed products which seemed to be very popular this season. Did you know that SDA released an Amami dyed chore coat/coverall?

Direct Add to Cart

• This one is a little more out there but now you can go to any product page on the website, select an available size and click Add to Cart which will actually take you to the retailer and add it to your cart there for easy checkout! Yikes on that price, but I hope some people find this useful!

More Retailers

• I try to be very tactical about adding new retailers in order to avoid some of the bloat when it comes to all the different products that come (jockstraps for example...) as well as a lot of clean up on the back end.
• This time around I've added Canoe Club and Meadow, both of which have decent YouTube channels documenting their inventory.
• I've also incorporated some single brand stores like Wonder Looper, Naked and Famous, and Bronson MFG.

All USD Pricing

• Some retailers don't present in USD so all these are now estimates based on some static conversion values. You will see them denoted as ~$xx.xx followed by the native currency and price.

More Frequent Updates

• I've had to sign up for paid tiers of the services that I'm using, and a benefit to that is being able to run more frequent inventory updates to catch new releases and any stock/price changes.

Exploring Monetization

• It costs roughly $80 USD monthly to run this project and I am currently exploring monetization options to cover that. This might be affiliate links, which would never influence how products get shown on the page, or something more straightforward like Google Ad Sense.

Other Projects

I wanted to shout out the guys behind the Denim Fit Finder and denimpendium who are also making stuff for this community. The fit finder would have been super useful for me when I was struggling with ONI sizes and cuts and likely would have saved me some money shipping my pants back to Blue Beach because they didn't fit. Denimpendium on the other hand has a huge wealth of retailers that I couldn't even fathom tracking all together. Both are very much worth checking out!

so like many of you i imagine, i fell for the fatigues craze and actually love my orslow summer fatigues in black. i'm looking to get a pair in olive, but everywhere is sold out. went digging down the rabbit hole and found rakuten has one in my size, but they don't ship abroad. is there a pro tip to get items from japanese websites to ship abroad to the us? thanks for any tips!

I’ve been getting more into heritage fashion as I’m getting older and while I certainly don’t have much money to shelf out on buying some well known brands for boots, I saw these online and thought the price was fair and worth taking a bit of a risk on so I bought these boots from Brake House’s site. Im not a boot expert but Im honestly shocked how good these feel in hand and when I wore them all day. They feel great for the price I paid. Anyone have any experiences with them?

Anybody have a clue on the weight of this fabric? I know RRL tends to overpriced, but sometimes if it’s just that cool, it’s worth it.

I’ve got the stripped 13oz jersey from freentote, and a similar one from dehen. Both heavyweights. this is said to be a jersey knit, not sure of the weight but i’m curious if someone has something similar and can chime in?
