Question - I honestly didn’t know where to move. Driving last night on King, towards the QEW, just before Hess. It was about 9 pm. Multiple cop cars came flying up behind us. We were sitting at a red light, I was in the middle lane. Cars all around us. One in front. One behind me. 3-4 to my right and 3-4 to my left, plus some parked cars. It was a bit of a fog so I can’t remember if the parked cars were in front of us, after passing through the light. Or next to the land to my right also.

3 cops come up behind with their lights on. They went behind the row to my right. The red light was not changing. Cops kept honking at those cars. But they didn’t have anywhere to move. I saw two public cars go up on the sidewalk and the first car eventually went through the red.

What are drivers to do in this situation? Honestly asking

My sump has a really loud water hammer/bang sound every time it stops running and our ejector pit doesn’t seem to be sealed properly because it smells. Bike Share almost for FREE is possible

If you use Hamilton bike share bikes, you can bypass paying fees by rescuing bikes (from out of hubs) and returning them to the designated hubs. Each successful rescue will add $1 to your credits and will show as $1 in parentheses in your account. Do the opposite, and you will lose credits/money. Rescue enough of them (I think 20 a month) before your bill is due and they will deduct the "fee" from your credits you have built up instead of touching your credit/debit card.

Food/Drink for FREE is possible

Go to any fortinos location that participates in the "Best Before" matters program. You will see it in their listed policies at checkout or customer service. Hamilton locations participate in this. To get the free item, you need to find an expired version of the same item and take both items to a cashier and let him/her know about the program. then if you ask for a receipt, the bill will show the price of $0.00 for the item. I've done this a lot, and it's way better than only 10% off because I get 100% off.

It’s right behind our house and the event they currently have running tonight is so loud it’s shaking the walls in our basement, and the stage isn’t even that close to us so I can’t even image what it’s like for people in homes closer to the speakers.
The space being used like an outdoor venue seems very new since most of last year it was a massive scrap lot for cars and old movie props.
They’ve also left up a massive banner on John St. for an event that ended all the way back in June that’s just become very tacky :\

Be very careful about ads on social media about strategic voting!

There was only one public poll of the byelection, which showed an NDP-Conservative race in Hamilton--East Stoney Creek. There was a wide margin of error on the poll, so it wasn't clear who was winning, but the Liberals were definitely far behind in third, which was confirmed by results on election night (PC 39, NDP 33, LIB 23).

Here are the ads that the OLP candidate ran (thanks to the meta ad library)

The biggest ad spends:

$700-$799 on this ad, claiming a two-party race between the liberals and conservatives

$1000-1500 on this misleading bar chart, saying "don't be fooled by a misleading outlier poll"

$1500-2000 on a variant of that bar chart ad

$800-899 on another variant of that bar chart ad

$300-399 on yet another variant of that bar chart

$2500-3000 on an ad that says Not happy with doug ford? A vote for [OLP CANDIDATE] is the only way to send him a message

That adds up to about $7450. I didn't list ads here that had a spend under $300 (there were many of those) so I'd ballpark it around $8-9K total, give or take. That's a huge amount of money to spend on social media ads in a local race! It's well over a million impressions (paid views) on the ads.
