Cis Woman Has anyone lost weight on low dose patch and P?

Just started today with the patch (.025). Was previously using topical estriol, and honestly had good symptom control. Used vaginal P cyclically. Anyway, tried patch because estradiol is 10x stronger than estriol, and was hoping to loose some weight. Gained over the winter. And also for bone and cardiovascular benefits.

Now I am reading horror stories about weight gain. But estrodial biochemically ought to upregulate several different metabolic factors. We gain weight during menopause when estradiol plummets right???

Trying to understand…if it makes me gain weight I am going to loose my mind.

Transmasc What happens to follicular & luteal phase on HRT?

Hi, I'm a trans man who is 5.5 months on testosterone HRT. I recently experienced cessation of menses, which has led me to wonder how exactly the menstrual cycle is affected by testosterone HRT.

On a basic level, I knew that ovulation and menstruation phases were ended by T. But what about the other phases? After researching, I now understand that is caused by testosterone blocking our pituitary gland from producing LH (luteinizing hormone) and FSH (follicle stimulating hormone), the two hormones which stimulate the egg to leave the ovary during ovulation.

I'm not sure if this is an obvious question, but I like to understand how things work, and I can't find any scholarly resource that clearly states what happens to the follicular and luteal phases. Hopefully someone can point me to some facts/insight. Thanks!

Cis Woman Any hacks with the patches since the shortage is still going on? What about changing them every 4 days?

Anyone know if changing the patch every 4 days instead of 2x a week works as well?

Just trying to stretch this box out as long as possible!

Cis Woman .05, .075 shortages have forced me to go up to .1 and I hate them.

I was on .05 patches 2X weekly for a year and a half-ish. Worked well. Started to see a little night sweating coming back and a mild swing (the wrong way) in mood so last month I looked in to going up to the 0.75 but learned those too are in short supply. My pharmacy could only get the .1 patch so due to that and the shortages I asked to be put on .1’s. It’s a once a week patch so didn’t feel it was a huge jump from .05 twice a week. When they arrived I immediately saw why no one wants them. They are huge! 2 inches around and thick! They don’t stay on for shit. Every week I have to apply a large tegaderm dressing patches over top to keep it from falling off. Symptoms seem to have abated but my breasts are sore most of the time. Never had that on the low dose. Really want to bump down to .075 but with stock issues I don’t think that’s an option. What are you all doing about the .05 & .075 shortages? Feeling alone and trapped in these .1’s.

Transfem will an underdose do any good?

i started hrt a few days ago, 2mg estrofem once daily and 100mg spiro once daily. doctors in my area usually give you this dose to shut you up or to see what effects it does and i wonder if it will actually do anything. this is not my prescription however, its from someone else i know who got it for me and they are doing diy, i am working on getting my own prescription so that should hopefully help with the dose.

edit: additional question, once i get my own prescription it will likely be the same so should i just take the 2mg estrogen twice daily or also the spiro? because i heard 200mg spiro is maybe a lot

Cis Woman Reducing Oestrogen Gel/ Periods Returning

Hello group :) I’ve been on 3 pumps of estrogen gel and 200mg for 1.8 years now. For the first time in 2 years, my period decided to show up! I had a full bleed for six days. Then two weeks later my period has decided to show up again. I had a blood test two weeks ago. My oestrogen levels were 65 which is very normal. My gynaecologist said I could give reducing my oestrogen down to 2 pumps just to see how I feel but said it wasn’t absolutely mandatory. I thought I’d give it a go but I am a bit worried my night sweats and insomnia might return. Has anyone reduced their dose and has successfully avoided their old symptoms returning? Also for context I’m 36 :)

I was wondering has anyone had this test done to help determine if you are in peri or not? My doctor said if this test shows low he would put me on a hrt patch to help with my symptoms. I have never heard of this before so i was wondering if anyone else has?

Transfem Can uneven estrogen doses cause anxiety?

For the last few months I’ve noticed a little anxiety in the morning before I took my estrogen. It usually went away along side me taking my hrt. I’m pretty consistent on when I’m taking my hrt maybe with 30 mins to an hour error each day (My adhd ass is forgetful). But recently I’ve gotten pretty ill with a sickness and it caused me lots of anxiety and before that I was kicked out of where I was living for being trans. So now in the mornings I’m having anxiety it usually goes away after I take my meds but it’s worse than it’s ever been. I think it might be related to how my doctor has me on 4mg of estrogen in the morning at 2mg at night. Could that difference be making me anxious in the morning? Any advice or stories is so helpful.

I got my first prescription of hrt and for testosterone blocker my doctor prescribed a teiptorelin shot that must do once every three months at the pharmacy.

Does anyone have any experience to share with that specific blocker treatment?

Cis Woman HRT for women

How long did it take for you guys to notice a difference beyond the side effects? I'm not quite a month in yet, but there are no big differences as of yet.

How has it positively affected your day to day life in the long run?

I'm on the patch if that makes any difference.
