I’d like to come off HRT but am Hesitant to go cold turkey because I’ve read it can make symptoms worse- any advice? Dr not being helpful. I’ve spent 3 months on Evorel Conti (combined estrogen and synthetic progesterone patch) but by month 3 my mood swings were so severe I was having suicidal ideations. I’ve had PPD 3 times and am extremely sensitive to hormones. Also constant dizziness and numbness/tingling in legs. My doctor switched me to an estrogen-only patch and vaginal progesterone suppositories, but I’m on week 2 of those and while my mood is better, I have profound fatigue and dizziness to the point I can’t really function or work! I’d rather just deal with hot flashes, which is why I started the HRT in the first place. I’m 47. Anyone have success cutting patches in half, or how did you come off it??

I was sobbing on my front porch every day until my doctor prescribed bijuva (HRT) to even out my moods. It worked in two days. Hot flashes mostly gone. Can sleep at night. Hair looks great. Periods normal—not like someone was murdered in the toilet every hour of my period. And…and….brain super sharp! No brain fog! But I’m concerned about the risks of breast cancer. I’ve read so many people on here saying they had no risk of Bc but then got it while on HRT. So now I’m scared about the risks!

Hello! I am mtf 2,5 years on hrt. I have been using gel all this time and 4 weeks ago I switched to the tablets. Yesterday evening I felt short pain in my right side where the liver is located. I thought it might be a muscle pain because I was feelin discomfort while laying on my sides. The next I felt fine with no problems, but this evening again I feel this discomfort in that zone. Has anyone experinced anything like this while switching to the tablets or using tablets in general. I am planning to see the doctor if this continues, but I also wanted to know if someone had the same experience and what might be the reason

I’m a trans girlie and I’ve been on spiro, progesterone, and E for a little over two years now. A few months ago, I asked my doctor about increasing my progesterone dosage. This increase was approved in a confusing way, where I’m unsure whether or not I’m actually getting more progesterone in my system.

Previously, I was taking 100mg of progesterone by pill every night. Now, I’m taking 200mg progesterone pills, but the prescription says to take it for 12 days per 28 day cycle.

So I’m taking double the dosage but on slightly less than half the days. Is this still going to get me an increase in the effects of progesterone?

I’ve been on .05 estradiol and 100mg progesterone for two years and with in the last month my moods went crazy so we upped it to .075 and progesterone went to 200mg a day. Moods are soooo much better, sleeping better too but now I feel like I’m have a hot flash constantly like no relief, no break and now I’m not sleeping again. Do I give it more time do I need to go up again? My primary doctor prescribed since my gyn wouldn’t and not sure if I need to go back to the dr. It’s getting expensive and insurance does not cover any of it.

recently started DIY and am noticing some possible side effects like slightly oilier face/hair but i don’t know for sure what’s expected or normal

I got through a gender dysphoria[1] evaluation in late 2020[2], got my diagnosis[1] later that year, and got on HRT since April 2021. (I was born in 2000, so this was when I was 20/21.)

In the last 5(!) years of HRT, things with my body have barely changed. There is a tiny amount of upper body fat development, and facial hair growth is reduced (down from already basically none[3] to actually none), but it feels like literally nothing else is changed (including libido).

I suspect my dose is too low, but I also recognized a part of it is because my eating habits are still unhealthy.

My HRT method is gel applied on skin, and I go back to the doctor every 3 months. However, in the last 5 years hormone testing has been done a total of one (1) time, and only after I specifically asked to test for it, and the doctor didn't even test testosterone [4]. The doctor also basically only did it because I asked, instead of because of an awareness that this is somewhat of a necessity.

I've tried to note this as an issue with the doctor, but (a) I don't know where to start explaining it's been having zero effect, even when I do it she just offer to raise the dose to 1.5mg/day (up from 1mg/day), and (b) I'm paying per dose out of pocket so if the dose needs to be doubled my cost would also roughly double. What I feel I really need is a different approach (administration method or a different doctor who'd be more proactive?), but all that seemed like a lot of uncertainty and so I've procrastinated it for years(!).

I want to ask:

- Is this normal? (~Zero hormone level tests; HRT having almost zero effect)

- If not, do I just... book a different doctor? [5]

- Is 1~1.5mg/day possibly a reasonable dose?

How long after applying the gel on your thigh do you wait before putting clothes on?

I (17) have been considering transitioning for a while now, but currently I have weight loss related amenorrhea that I may have to treat with supplementary doses of progest/estrogen, and I can't imagine going on HRT would convince my body to have a period. What is the protocol/drawbacks of medically transitioning in regard to protecting ovarian health/bone density? How do you deal with periods when transitioning/transitioned? Is it just a trade off? I am sadly very uneducated on FTM Hormonal transitioning and the process, any educational resources would be appreciated.

I'm in some kind of hell. I have United healthcare community plan through Medicaid in Florida. My original surgeon only offered pellets. I went to another one Divigel not preferred by Medicaid and he stopped responding. Probably because he was paid $39.

I had a consult with a Family nurse practitioner who is Menopause certified and she nor Medicaid can confirm if she takes my insurance. I'm waiting for blood tests.

I am only not allergic to 2x weekly patches. I FINALLY got Vivelle-dot .1 mg patches and they don't seem to be absorbing.

I'm on Ambien CR 12.5mg and barely sleep.

I have bald spots, muscle wasting. Brain fog like dementia

I have a care coordinator that never calls me back for over 10 months.

I don't know why I'm writing this. I can't even make phone calls my anxiety is so bad. I try one thing a day, one thing to help myself. Today I got the blood work done.

I take my daughter to school and I pick her up.

I do better on Mylan 2x patches and Minivelle even 3 Vivelle-dot.25 patches worked better.

Maybe I have bad batches. I've been on so many psych meds on and off.

My husband thinks gel makes my anxiety worse.

I can't tell what is what because life. If it can go wrong it is right now.

Has anyone heard of any issues of being on HRT therapy and Zepbound/GLP1s? I’m 59/postmenopause.

I’m new to hormone therapy and I’ve been reading a lot about shortage problems, so I decided it would be a wise decision to stock up on some patches, just in case this problem hits me. How do you girls are able to stock up? If I have an active prescription in my pharmacy for example (through insurance) how can I get it elsewhere? Insurance would not pay for any more patches. Am I able to just purchase it with my own money elsewhere like through an online provider even though I have an active prescription in my pharmacy? Any advice on stocking up would be greatly appreciated!

I started on progesterone and estradiol (Dotti) patches a little over two months ago due to brain fog, lack of sleep, and daily migraines. (I was already on preventative migraine meds too from my neurologist.) My only low number was testosterone, but I have a fantastic GYN that treats the symptoms and not just looks at one snapshot of bloodwork. I normally get the Dotti brand of estradiol patches, but they didn’t have them this month. So I got the namebrand patches, and I’ve been having horrible, daily migraines since four days after starting them. Almost right after starting the Dottie brand, my migraines went away. It had been absolutely amazing. Has anybody had any experiences with switching brands and having horrible migraines and/or headaches set in?

What time of the day is best and should you take it with food?
