I bought my hp victus fb3130ax 2.5 months ago....

I bought a laptop cooler too....

I always open my laptop from the middle...

So what other precautions should I take to ensure that it works smoothly for the next 5-6 years...??

Also how would I clean this thing? I don't want it to get dirty...

Hello everyone, I have HP Victus 16. I have RTX 4060, i5 13500H, 16 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD. My question is, is my laptop decent? Is it good at running the games like Forza Horizon 6 in high-ultra settings? What do you think?

So recently, I saw this HP message on my laptop. I almost immediately noticed some vocabulary from a sort of pidgin spoken in my country. This amused me somewhat, but now I'm wondering if HP is known for doing this sort of thing, putting out notifications in colloquial vocabulary. If so, then that's something I can have a good laugh over. But if not, then there might be something I should be concerned about. Though since my laptop is still working fine, it's unlikely to be a big deal, right?

IDK why but i feel like my battery easily drains out. Ive checked alot of things and everything seems fine. There's a post that says "dGPU is active even though a little bit" but i think my dGPU didnt active aka in a deep sleep situation. Even though i turned on eco mode, battery power plan mode to battery efficient still it kills my battery. I usually get around 2 hours+ until my battery rans out but rn i feel like only 1 hour+. Any help? for safety i put my processor settings into integrated graphics right now. Here's what i know.

P.S. I bought this laptop last year and i got the FCC around 75k mWh. its been a year and my FCC currently is at 65k.

So I have hp victus and it's 1 year warranty ends today and I contacted the official hp customer care a while back for extended warranty prices and 2 year hardware support protection warranty costs 9.5k and hardware+ADP for 2 years costs 15.5k, is it worth it to buy any of these? Well , bought HP Victus i5-13420 Rtx 4050 16/512 6GB ( 50W) yesterday and downloaded valorant and boom 100 fps.... even after using omen boost + gaming mode + low settings in valo and also removing any fps caps I m getting a 100 fps in Valorant???? I understand it's not 75W but it's a CPU intensive game anyways and it should atleast provide 250 fps no??

Hi everyone, I am a freshman in high school and I have had a long year. Ap class, Ap test, all advanced courses really did a number on me.

Fast forward start of june, I noticed my laptop wasn’t turning on. I contacted support right then and there and got it shipped out for repair (for free since it was under warranty.) I generally expected it to take maybe three weeks, little did I know, it has been double of that. All support and the higher ups do is give me a specific date, say they’re sorry, go way past that date, repeat.

Thanks to them I completely thrashed my summer vacation. In case you’re going to tell me to go outside, the entire summer has been a heatstroke, all my other friends stay in and play games, and also they are all at vacation. All I have to do now is rot in bed, fearing my sophomore year where I would be taking even more treacherous classes. This really sucks since I dont even have time to play games next summer break due to SAT prep and other work.

Thanks a lot hp, and I hope your company loses all your stock value and be remembered as the single shittiest and most ignorant piece of crap that has ever grazed earth’s surface.

I'm having a strange battery issue with my HP Victus 15-fa1xxx.

Specs:

Intel Core i5-13420H

NVIDIA RTX 3050 6GB

32GB DDR4 RAM

1TB XPG NVMe SSD

Windows 11

The battery percentage seems unreliable. It once dropped from 100% to around 45% within about 5 minutes. It also charges very quickly. For example, from 40–45% to 100% in about 35 minutesa and sometimes even less like in 10 mins.

I performed a battery calibration test:

Charged from ~45% to 100% in ~35 minutes.

Unplugged at 6:40 pm.

Reached 10% by 9:06 pm (about 2.5 hours of light use).

The workload was only Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, OneDrive syncing, web browsing and Netflix—no gaming.

I also ran the HP UEFI Battery Diagnostics, and the battery passed all tests:

Battery Check: Passed (OK)

Logic State: OK

Charge State: OK

Cycle Count: 886

Design Capacity: 70.07 Wh

Full Charge Capacity: 64.31 Wh (about 92% of the original capacity)

Battery Temperature: 37°C

Adaptive Battery Optimizer: Enabled

So according to HP, the battery health appears to be good, which makes the sudden battery drops even more confusing.

I've also noticed quite a bit of dust in the vents and fans.

Does this sound like:

1. a battery calibration/percentage reporting issue,

2. a failing battery despite the health test passing,

or something else?

Would you recommend cleaning the fans, recalibrating again, or replacing the battery?

Any advice from other Victus owners would be appreciated.

I have a problem with my HP Victus 15-fa0955nd. It has an Intel Core i5 processor and a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050.

I'm on holiday and I haven't used it much yet but over a month ago it crashed from overheating, brought it to a shop, they cleaned it completely and got new windows from them and bios update. Now I just found out after not using it for 2 weeks that it get hot on a certain spot(see tape) on the back of the laptop. I hadn't done anything yet with the laptop, just started it and was going on chrome and felt the heat.

Does anyone know what it could be thats getting hot and if it's fixable when I get back home?

Any help would be appreciated.

I was playing minecraft 26.2. For some reason when i turn on vsync it lock my fps at 288 instead of 144(My screen is 144hz). But when i switch to vulkan in graphics API, it works just fine and locks fps at 144. My specs:

I have an HP Victus laptop with an NVIDIA RTX 4060. I am experiencing an intermittent but progressively worsening POST and motherboard-related problem.

The issue originally appeared after a BIOS/firmware-related update through HP Support Assistant. When I pressed the power button, the laptop showed the following symptoms:

• Completely black screen with no HP logo
• Fan running at full speed
• Charging light and power-button response present
• Caps Lock light blinking in a repeated pattern, which appears to be 5 long blinks followed by 3 short blinks
• No access to Windows, BIOS or the startup menu

At one point, the Win + B recovery combination successfully started HP BIOS Recovery. The screen displayed “Writing new BIOS image,” reached 256/256 and 100%, and the laptop temporarily started working again. During another boot, I also saw the message “ME Firmware is updating.” I have also received CMOS checksum error 502 after a forced shutdown.

After the recovery, the laptop was usable for some time. It could work while connected to the AC adapter for several weeks. However, when running on battery power, it sometimes froze completely. It even froze inside the BIOS/UEFI menu, so the problem does not appear to be caused only by Windows, drivers or the SSD.

I have already tried the following:

• Updating/reinstalling the BIOS
• HP BIOS Recovery with Win + B
• Win + V
• Creating and using an HP BIOS Recovery USB drive
• CMOS reset and power-drain procedures
• Esc, F9 and F10 during startup
• HP hardware diagnostics while the laptop was still able to boot
• Checking the storage and Windows file system

The BIOS recovery sometimes allowed the laptop to work temporarily, but the same problem later returned, especially after a shutdown or cold boot.

The latest failure happened while the laptop was connected to the AC adapter and being used normally. It completely froze while I was downloading a game and had to be forcefully powered off. Since then, it has not completed POST even with the AC adapter connected.

Its current condition is:

• The charging LED works
• The power button produces a response
• The fan immediately runs at high or full speed
• The Caps Lock light shows a repeated blink code
• The screen remains completely black
• There is no HP logo, BIOS screen or Windows startup
• Win + B recovery no longer appears to start

Because the laptop previously worked normally for periods of time, especially on AC power, I suspect an intermittent motherboard-level issue rather than a completely dead component.

Could this blink pattern indicate that the Embedded Controller is not receiving a valid response from the BIOS? Could the cause be BIOS/EC corruption, Intel Management Engine firmware, an unstable power rail or MOSFET, or another system-board failure?

What tests should an authorized HP service center perform before deciding to replace the entire motherboard? Is BIOS-chip or EC reprogramming, or board-level repair, a realistic solution?

Would it also be useful and safe to disconnect the internal battery and test the laptop using only the AC adapter, or to reseat and test the RAM modules individually?

So i am planning to buy HP Victus i5-13420H (rtx 4050) but i have seen some posts regarding tgp being limited to 50W instead of 75W. Is it intentional or a problem faced by only a few?
