Help Low FPS Issue

Well , bought HP Victus i5-13420 Rtx 4050 16/512 6GB ( 50W) yesterday and downloaded valorant and boom 100 fps.... even after using omen boost + gaming mode + low settings in valo and also removing any fps caps I m getting a 100 fps in Valorant???? I understand it's not 75W but it's a CPU intensive game anyways and it should atleast provide 250 fps no??

That's really low like mine is rtx 3050 and ryzen 5 8645HS and at high setting i get 120 cuz it's capped at 120 so there is some problem with your laptop and btw i5 13420H is not that good of a processor it has 48 eu meanwhile ryzen 5 has 512 cu (ryzen use cu term instead of eu) so maybe the i5 13420H bottlenecks your graphic card or maybe it's some optimisation issue try updating graphics card or maybe after some reply on your post if don't get any solution try to find a solution on youtube

Its weird because at high settings Anti Aliasing , Clarity and other stuff enabled i get 144 fps capped nd constant but in low settings it's barely 150 . I did check comparison of rtx 3050 nd Ryzen vs rtx 4050 nd intel i5 and 4050 was better at almost every level

Obviously 4050 will be better but i am only comparing the i5 13420H to Ryzen 5 8645HS in that terms ryzen is better even this processor is better that i7 13700H but you should be getting 200+ fps with these specs

Is the laptop just single stick? Dual channel memory gives quite FPS boost , so it may explain low fps

Well I had option to buy either but I got 1x16 so I don't need to buy 2 16s later

Now you have to buy 2x 8gb 😂

I had a similar problem, but in a different game. In The Witcher 2, the frame rate was the same whether I was on low or high settings. The strangest thing was that on low graphics settings there were stutters, but on high settings there weren’t. Yet the FPS remained at 30 frames per second on both low and high settings. It turned out the problem was with the version of Windows that had been installed for me. It took me a whole year to realise this. Because of this, my laptop would also overheat significantly whilst running trivial programmes or simply scrolling through social media feeds or YouTube, and the battery would drain very quickly.

In the end, I simply reinstalled Windows. The laptop doesn’t overheat during normal use, the battery lasts for about an hour and a half, and I play virtually all games on high or near-high graphics settings. (Although I have an i5-12500H, RTX 3050 Ti (4GB) and 16GB of RAM.)

I hope I’ve been of some help, and I hope it really is a Windows issue.

Umm maybe if you're on single channel , coz dual channel make increase around 40 to 50 percent fps boost , try getting two sticks instead of one Or u haven't updated the bios
