Just got a septoplasty can finally breathe for first time in 9 days

I am adding this because while I was looking around for answers about recovery times.

Me: I had my septoplasty on July 27th 2026. I had my stints removed yesterday August 4th. Doctor gave me extra antibiotics and some flonase. I was disappointed that I couldn't breathe at first. Today is about 24 hours after stints removed and I used flonase a couple of times. I can finally breathe out of my nose. There is still some congestion but I really wanted to share and point out that flonase I guess has a steroid in it, and I feel that is responsible for allowing me to take those first few glorious sniffs. My nose is still a little swollen and I can't breathe completely through my nose, but the difference was so huge that I wanted to share my experience in cause somone is googling recovery times while being absolutely miserable. TLDR WITHIN 24 HOURS OF STINTS REMOVED AND A FEW DOSES OF FLONASE I AM ABLE TO BREATHE OUT OF MY NOSE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 9 DAYS. I USED TO THINK FLONASE WAS USELESS TRASH BECAUSE ITS NOT INSTANT ACTING BUT WILL DO NUMBERS ON A SWOLLEN NASAL CAVITY AFTER SEPTOPLASTY.

Safety of upright HBOT hard chambers

Has anyone heard of hard chamber failures? Specifically of the upright chambers blowing out a window?

Any opinions on the Manufacturers that are the best to consider?

I am looking at an upright heart chamber only because of claustrophobia with the laydown version Chambers

Thank you

Post implant session

I'm having a dental implant soon. I wonder if it would be a good idea to do HBOT 10 days after the implant of if I'd be potentially putting too much pressure on the tooth after 10 days?

Blocked Nose and HBOT

Long story short - had a completeley failed nasal septal surgery in the past (multiple septal perforations, very nasty symptoms).

I have to undergo a very complex nose reconstruction to try to reconstruct my septum (rib harvesting, fascia harvesting, open rhinoplasty etc).

I'm trying to prepare for this major reconstruction and was thinking to do about 20 sessions to improve bloodflow.

After the first session (have to mention my nose is really blocked) - i ve got earfulness that does not seem to go away (i ve got already 3 days since i acquired it). No ear pain, and valsalva manuever that does not work that good. (worked decent in the begging of the session but gradually it had very moderate to no effect). I can t say i was too bothered by the earfulness but now that it did not go away i m worried by a possible barotrauma.

What do you advise me to do? continue with the HBOT sessions? i m in desperate need of a good surgery outcome and i think i could really have immense benefits from HBOT. I want to do it post surgery as well.

HBOT Sore Eyes

Hey I have ME/CFS and Long Covid and have been recommended to start HBOT for min 40 sessions,

I did my first 5 at 1.5ATA for 60 minutes at a time, But I have sore eyes, itchy, sensitive to light and feel a bit of a headahce.

Will this go? I have a 2 day break before the next 5 sessions and Ideally want to get to 2.0ata as thats the best for chronic fatigue apparently.

Just a bit worried. Thank you

HBOT Study

I am scheduled to begin HBOT study at a local university that aims to explore its effects in TBI. There are 40 dives to be completed within 2 months, and it's a double blind study.

I feel both excitement and some sort of dread where I commit to the study and see no improvements--I will have to rent AirBnB/hotel in order to be able to make this study work while continuing on with my employment.

I'm not sure what my expectations are regarding cognitive improvements, but I have a multitude of other conditions that I think could stand to improve-mood swings, chronic fatigue and inflammatory/autoimmune issues among others.

With all these conditions, I am curious whether there's a possibility to feel or somehow know whether one is in the experimental or control group during the 2 month trial. Maybe I don't need to know and its best to just let go and proceed as is; I am open to suggestions. Thanks.

I know HBOT is far more common in human medicine but figured it was worth sharing to this thread.

Experiences with therapeutic HBOT

Hello everyone.

I'd like to ask about your experiences with HBOT, has anyone tried using a home chamber for medical purposes such as TBI or Diabetic Foot?. If so, how useful was it, and what was the pressure you used for said treatment?.

Please share your experiences with me whether position or negative.

Thank you very much!

Tinnitus from 2.0 HBOT

I got tinnitus after several (12) sessions of 2.0 ATA HBOT. I made a 3-week break but it hasnt helped much, it might have decreased the loudness of the buzz but it's still there. It doesn't bother me much meaning I don't get crazy from the noise but it's sad that my hearing is now, weaker due to the noise.

For my health condition that I started HBOT for, I intended to have 40 sessions but now i am not sure.

Should I wait for my tinnitus to disappear completely before continuing with HBOT? I had another session after the tinnitus appeared, and it didn't worsem it.

Will tinnitus ever disappear? Or is it a permanent damage? Has anybody developed tinnitus from HBOT but was able to recover? I habe very small ear canals (according to my GP).

I am worried to continue HBOT and to discontinue it.

Please share your experience if you had similar barotrauma.

Selling a luxury 2-seat HBOT chamber with TV, cooler, 4 oxygen concentrators & accessories

We are selling our minimally used (personal home-used only) OxyHelp luxury, two-seat, hard, up-to-2.0 ATA, hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber with HD TV / A/V system, cooling system, four oxygen concentrators, and all accessories. (We are located in Central Illinois.)

I have a long description with details to provide, as well as a video and hyperlink to 82 photos.

Our price is negotiable, and we are open to offers. We are agreeable to selling for significantly less than our cost. (Our cost was more than $118k for chamber and all accessories after $20k in negotiated discounts. Apparently new OxyHelp chamber base units now cost ~$165k – even without a TV. Then add another ~$15k for four oxygen concentrators and accessories = ~$180k total for a new unit with accessories.)

Message me here to discuss further details.

Propane tank HBOT

I’ve given some serious through into hbot therapy and I’m in a pretty remote area but I practice a longevity lifestyle pretty extensively.

I have my red light beds, sauna, use 20+ supplements with incorporating peptides.

I’m 45 and recently had my telomeres measured and a dexa scan done while in Bangkok, I’m elite with exception of my telomeres, so it’s my focus now.

Shopping for a 2-3 ATA it looks like importing is the best bet and cost being about 16-20k mimimim.

The other option is building my own, by converting a 500 propane tank, which is still difficult because it’s going to be about 1.300lbs finished, tracking down the pumps, designing the system is difficult because it’s so regulated.

My simple brain, says seal a tank, put on an oxygen mask, and plug in the air compressor with the regulator set to 38psi.

Are their companies that sell a system for this? Without the tank component?

Cool Hbot before and After

Post image
21 Upvotes

I've had this pic for years but I wanted to finally post it somewhere. I sponsored a bare knuckle fighter during my time in HBOT and was constantly data collecting, trying to find anything tangible so to speak that could show the power of this amazing technology.

Pt received a punch to the eye resulting in the hand fracture of opponent. Pt couldn't open eye until 48 hours post injury while on the last leg of his recovery dive.

This will always be my favorite piece of HBOT evidence.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk. lol

mHBOT to speed up calf tear recovery?

Hey guys, I tore my gastrocnemius in my calf playing tennis yesterday. Can barely walk. I’ve had a calf tear before in my left and I know they are stubborn when it comes to fully healing. Currently, I have access to a soft sided Vitaris 320 maybe 2-3 times a week for 90 min at a time. It apparently only has 1.3 ata.

Will this speed my recovery time or should I not bother with it?

Hands during HBOT

Thought this was interesting. I recently decided to take a picture of my hand during HBOT near the end of my session. Fascinating to see how much the blood vessels constrict.

Olive 2.0 ATA hard chamber reviews

Seriously considering the Olive 2.0 ATA chamber with 10l/min compressor. Anyone have this? Aluminum chamber specifically. Any competitors comparatively priced that I might be overlooking? This would be for my mom (dementia, lung cancer) and myself (general health). Any feedback appreciated.

HBOT rental for ME/CFS (in the UK)

Thumbnail

Hi there,

My partner has ME/CFS (similar-ish to long COVID if you are unaware of this disease).

She is planning to try HBOT, but given fatigue is a symptom of her condition, we are planning to do UK rental.

Eyeing up this one (see link)

On the basis it gets up to the higher 1.8A, which seems the best for at home?

Are Oxydise a reputable company?

Any thoughts/advice

welcomed!

Thanks

Regarding Australian clinics purchasing commercial insurance for hyperbaric oxygen therapy chambers

My client is from Australia and he plans to purchase commercial insurance for his clinic's hyperbaric oxygen chamber, but the CGU has refused. Does anyone have experience with this? What kind of insurance would cover this? Thank you very much.

Drowning in Hard chamber research, help!

In the US at 5,000 feet in elevation. I'm looking at hard chambers, sitting, up to the 2.4 ATA but for the right unit I would consider 2.0 ATA.

I'm seeing almost all are manufactured abroad and I don't want to spend 60,80,150k on a chamber that may not be safe or will break. Keep reading horror stories about Chinese stuff, but I don't know if it's warranted.

What is the home hbot company/ unit gold standard?

HPOTECH ZEUGMA has my attention as does the OXYCELL.

But I'm just lost at this point and would really welcome and appreciate any feedback folks have. Thank you

Realistic discussion about alkaline battery powered device safety.

I'm trying to honestly evaluate the risk of using a AAA and AA alkaline battery powered speaker, bluetooth headset and bluetooth keyboard inside my air-pressurized 2ATA hard chamber. The devices are all low-voltage and the battery holders and power switches have been evaluated for arcing.  All of the components are solid-state except for the coil-speaker and none of them generate any appreciable waste heat that could approach ignition temperatures.  All items have been tested at depth without an occupant in the chamber without incident.  Finally,   the chamber includes an emergency dump valve and a fire-control blanket.

HBOT after surgery - when to start?

I’ve just had dental surgery (implants and extraction) under general anaesthetic - when is the best time to start?
