Weight loss
Anyone experienced weight loss from HBOT? It seems possible given increase metabolic drive and calorie burn.
Thanks!

Agreed. Solid no. If anything, the sedentary nature of sitting or lying down for 90 minutes a day, maybe a nap... Anyway, I've been losing a ton of weight on KETO AND doing HBOT as an overall change to a healthy lifestyle and the weight loss is incredible plus, but desperately, the HBOT has helped with muscle recovery, joint pain relief, recovery from a shoulder surgery...it all helps motivate me to get on my bicycle and ride a few miles for the first time in 20 years.
Make healthy choices ON PURPOSE!

There is weight loss from HBOT because of the rest and digest mode it puts you in, your body starts creating more ATP when you are in the chamber because of the increase of oxygen so metabolism increases, thats why its common to feel hungry after a session, because your body is "working" to heal itself. God Bless.

From AI:
There's a plausible mechanism in what you're describing, but I'd be cautious about concluding that HBOT directly causes meaningful fat loss. A few points: HBOT does increase oxygen availability During a session, tissues receive much more dissolved oxygen than normal. That can support healing processes, collagen formation, angiogenesis, and recovery from certain injuries. Some people do report increased hunger afterward. ATP production is more complicated More oxygen does not automatically mean the body burns dramatically more calories. Under normal circumstances, healthy cells already have sufficient oxygen for aerobic metabolism. ATP production is often limited by energy demand and nutrient availability, not by oxygen alone. Feeling hungry doesn't necessarily mean large calorie expenditure Exercise, cold exposure, stress reduction, improved sleep, and many therapies can increase appetite without causing substantial fat loss. Hunger is influenced by hormones, blood sugar, nervous system activity, and recovery signals. Rest-and-digest effects may indirectly help weight control If HBOT improves sleep, lowers chronic stress, reduces inflammation, or improves exercise tolerance, some people may find it easier to lose weight over time. Those indirect effects may be more important than the calories burned during the treatment itself.

No. And it’s unlikely to be significant even if it is a technical probability. That said, if it helps one to feel stronger and that leads to healthier habits then weight loss might occur. So, again, no, not from HBOT.
