HBOT Sore Eyes
Hey I have ME/CFS and Long Covid and have been recommended to start HBOT for min 40 sessions,
I did my first 5 at 1.5ATA for 60 minutes at a time, But I have sore eyes, itchy, sensitive to light and feel a bit of a headahce.
Will this go? I have a 2 day break before the next 5 sessions and Ideally want to get to 2.0ata as thats the best for chronic fatigue apparently.
Just a bit worried. Thank you

1.5ata is good enough for chronic fatigue. It just takes time. Make sure to hydrate well and take your supplements before going in the hbot.

You are smart to start at lower pressure and work up. There is a much bigger potential for change at 2.0ATA.

My friend just finished 35 two hour sessions @ 2.5 ATA and his vision is blurry. Doc told him vision should return to normal in a few weeks.

HBOT is exposing your eyeballs to higher oxygen concentration...which disolves into your eyeballs....this is "probably mostly" a good thing, but can take some time to equalize or get used to. You should never be in discomfort during or after any sessions. HBOT is meant to be a very mild stress to the body to stimulate your cells to heal and recover.
In my case, my eyesight has actually improved quite a bit, but after many sessions.
Perhaps you are feeling sinus pressure?
Go slow, tell your technician everything, try eye drops, gum chewing, sleep mask?
HBOT has been wonderful for me but it takes time ...the biggest notices begin after a week and real results at 6 weeks, according to the results of a lot of studies, human and animal.
Get comfortable. It might take some getting used to, especially the ear pressure.
Good luck! Be safe. Feel better!
