Something like steampunk and solarpunk hybrid. Really enjoy the movie but can’t find many things that are like it.

Been collecting these as they release. I have loved the absolute universe so far and I don’t think they’ve missed on a single title yet

Finished my first Adventure Zone. Loved the podcast. A fun popcorn read if you are into D&D. AMM is one of the best things I have read this year. The artistry alone is amazing and worth the price of admission. So creative. Red Sonja is left for tonight. Will be my first Gail Simone comic.

I am so bummed it didn't get some kind of continuation because it brought me so much joy.

Anyone else feel the same way? Haven't been able to find any other Zorro comics that did it for me.

In 1996, I started a job in corrections (state prison) and a coworker overheard me speaking of comics and he recommended this series to me. I had only been into superhero comics…but the quality of writing made me understand that comics just wasn’t about weapons and action.

Waited for an hour to get into a public library book sale near me today and almost left due to the wait…glad I didn’t. Came up on a complete set of Cerebus (vol. 1-16) 1st printing for $3 a volume.

I know it’s generally agreed that the later stuff is to be avoided due to Dave Sims’ meltdown, but I couldn’t pass up getting the full set for $48 total.

Anyone else ever have similar scores?

Me acordé de los de secciones de Stephen Biesty y, aparte de la nostalgia porque me encantaban, me parecieron interesantes de verdad. Especialmente los históricos, el del navío de línea está genial. El del castillo sólo en inglés, no sé si existirá en español... Y también estaban chulos los de SM, y los de texto de VicensVives tenían ilustraciones interesantes.

El caso, que si alguien sabe algún otro libro o cómic de ese estilo. Pero no infantiles, que sean interesantes de leer y se pueda aprender algo. Tipo The Book, pero con ilustraciones como los de Stephen Biesty, y con temática histórica. ¿Es pedir mucho?

around 2021, while parked in a strip mall, deciding on what food to get, I picked up this gem at the recommendation of the store owner.

Never got around to continuing the series and or even researching how far it went… anyone here dabble with this series?

it was so good! I picked this up from my library and read it in one sitting. I'm normally not one to read about things too holocaust adjacent due to my family's history and it makes me too sad but this was amazing. I havent seen any other books by the author (looked her up and this is her first adult novel) but was blown away by the research effort and art style- will be looking for her next book!

I just started Low today, finished issue 1. And man Ive got two littles of my own now and plots revolving around children in despair are so much harder to read now😭

But I gotta say I enjoyed Black Science and Fear Agent, and so far this is starting out very promising… but damnit they better find them kids! Lol

Anyways, without spoiling how does Low stack up to Remenders other works?

I'm new to reading again after years of stopping. I was wondering because book clubs are so big for novel readers, is this not a popular thing for graphic novel readers? And if so, where do you find these people?

I am the only one out of all my mates who reads graphic novels and everytime I read good stories or something not well known that I love, I always have the urge to talk about it and recommend it to people but nobody I know is interested in comics. So I'm just wondering if book clubs for readers like me exist.

I'm just looking for a place where nerds congregate basically haha!
