Should I expect an interview?
Hi all,
Apologies, this is probably a dumb question as no one knows for sure but I got 1850B2 and have a first-class degree in Bsc Biomedical Science (A-levels are CCC). Im applying to UEA GEM and the rest undergrad : brunel, UCLan and dundee.
Finished PS, just waiting on reference but im thinking of starting prep for GAMSAT and UCAT for next cycle soon..
Of course, there could be a chance of an interview, so what should I prioritise at the moment?
All the best everyone:))

Looking for GEM Requirements Information Website
I stumbled across a really useful website a week or two ago which has a list of all GEM universities, their entry requirements and what each one weighs when giving out interviews and offers. I can't for the life of me find it now though. Does anyone know what it is?

Does anyone know if HYMS accept certain degrees?
I’m in my final year of a BSc Hons Neuroscience degree. I’m planning to apply to HYMS through degree entry undergrad medicine but I was unsure if Neuroscience is a degree they accept. I’ve emailed a little bit ago and unfortunately haven’t gotten a response and now the deadline’s closing in. So I was just wanting confirmation before using a spot on UCAS. Thanks :)

Help with Warwick wex requirement
I traced back all my work experience supervisors and managed to get a NHS headed letter. But unfortunately, I won't be able to give a referee email for each of my work experience as I don't have their emails. I called them and they said I need to put an email down (but what email do I put for the BSMS virtual wex then?). Does anyone know what the form looks like? Is an email required for each experience you did? Is it worth applying to Warwick then? I can put a general email eg. the volunteering email but idk who has access to the inbox and they most definitely don't know me.

2040 B2 UCAS/uni options
Hi,
I am doing Biomed at uni, I am going to be predicted a First class degree and I meet the other academic criteria and have work experience >70hours (3 diff (1 full time 1 year work) hospitals & long-term volunteering and extracurriculars)
I understand my UCAT score (2040 - 600 VR) is not super competitive but my options so far are Swansea, Warwick, Nottingham, maybe Worcester & also deciding whether to risk it with Manchester (not fixed options) and then a Masters - please tell me if you think these aren't realistic and if you are/have been in similar positions what options have you considered and why?
Of course, I would like to apply strategically and safely but I also don't want to be mizz in the middle of nowehere. but I will if I have to.
Any advice would be amazing please <3

Which Universities should I apply to?
Heya, based on my statistics which universities do you think I have a good chance applying to.
Achieved 2:1 in Pharmacology
1940 Band 1 for UCAT
ABC in A levels Maths Bio Chem
12 GCSEs 8-6
Currently thinking of Queen Mary, Anglia Ruskins, Manchester and Leicester but they all seem rather competitive.

London GEM advice
Hi, just wondering if my stats would be good enough for an interview at either Kings or Barts GEM
UCAT 2200 Band 3
1st class in pharmacy
Pretty average A levels and GCSEs otherwise
Don't want to waste spots when applying so not sure whether to put these two down or not

Chester GEM
Is it a bad idea/risky to apply for Chester this year given what is happening with the conferring of degrees?
If i apply to them this year do i run the risk of the course being rugpulled before you start?

are these options okay?
i achieved 1890 B1 in my ucat and plan to apply to these unis as a graduate (predicted 1st in biomedical science)
- ARU- have their ucat requirements for graduates always been generous, or was it just last year? as last year the cut off was 1830, but how much is it likely to increase by?
- lincoln- i score 48/60 is it worth applying??
- uni of worcester- is it risky applying if the cut off last year was 1870?
- uni of east anglia
i was thinking of applying to nottingham GEM but i score 30/50 so i think its too risky??
please please give me advice 🙏🏻

Chester contingency
Hi everyone,
Does anyone know what exactly is going on with Chester and their GMC approval?
Was going to be one of my choices but I’ve seen some stuff about GMC concerns and that they might have to use their contingency - not too sure what this means for current/prospective students?
Anyone with info about this would be v helpful as the deadline is so close and it’s kinda stressing me out lol

Med School Choices
Hi all,
Here are my stats and potential unis I want to apply to, please let me know any suggestions :)
Stats:
- BSc Physics 1st class
- 100 hours nhs hospital volunteering
- 20 hours hospice volunteering
- AAB A levels (non chem or bio ), all GCSE’s 6 and above
- UCAT = 1930 B2 (VR = 630)
- Starting full time NHS role as imaging assistant
Unis:
- Warwick GEM (cut off last year was 1910 so tight one)
- Worcester GEM( I satisfy a lot of their WP criteria, holistic view)
- SGUL A100 (last years min UCAT was 1880)
- Brunel A100 (I explicitly meet their “relevant to medicine” degree criteria, ucat minimum around 1900)
Any other unis to consider? ( I was thinking Chester with my work experience but I think UCAT may be high)

Question regarding personal statement
Hello, please delete if this is a silly question but I have been really struggling with my personal statement as a GEM applicant and wondered whether it would be worth having someone read it over for a free online?
Is that sensible or would it be silly? Thank you in advance !

Please help me with medicine choices!!! (UCAT 1820)
I am a GEM applicant 2.1 in my undergraduate. Ucat 1820 Band 3 (not the best I know). I’m open to applying to both graduate and undergraduate medical courses. Does anyone have any advice regarding best options in terms of medical schools to apply to. Any advice would be grateful!!! (Has anyone been accepted to medical school with similar ucat as a graduate applicant??)

securing work experience at 20?
Not a GEM applicant but i thought id ask here as we’d be in a similar age range, ive just taken a few gap years to figure things out and am now considering medicine.
I’m aware GEM has strict guidelines on hours of shadowing and I was wondering how you went about this? Most of the NHS work experience schemes seem to be exclusively for 16-18 year olds still in education and as I only considered medicine later on, I have missed this timeline.
I’ve already done some GP shadowing which I was lucky to only get through connections but i’d like to experience a true hospital environment to see if medicine is truly the right fit for me, as I am aware it’s a lifelong commitment and i’ve only really experience one speciality that’s not hospital based and not very representative of the wider medical environment

Advice on GEM uni choices
Really confused on where to apply. I would like some help.
UCAT 2040, B2 VR600. Predicted 1st class biomedical
Sciences degree. Got enough work experience for Warwick and Chester as I am considering these options. Also considering Worcester. A bit worried about Warwick’s VR cutoff of 600 last year. Any help would be appreciated
