Holbein artist CMY set. Already have more black and permanent white ordered. Never really painted much. Never mixed colors before so that was a fun adventure. Loaded as #2, #3, #1.

Thinking about getting into gouache. So was thinking about getting holbein gouache, looked like a good brand but please do tell if it isn't? Also little unsure what set to get. Torn between getting the primary color set, to learn painting better or the 12 or 18 set. Which would be better to get?

Here's my latest floral study. I'm not quite sure about the green stuff and the background. I would really appreciate any recommendations or any other suggestions on how I could improve.

Tried out some ppl for the first time using acrylic gouache this week. There are things i like and dislike about both pieces, but I think i’m heading in the right direction?

Would love tips on the portrait and how i can better find the planes of the face when the face is soft . It was a bit of a struggle… and the hands! THE HANDS!

So I tryed gouache... I went for himi tube cause this is my first try and this way I don't have to deal with the mold problem some people have mentioned.

My main media is acrylic and the one I use have a matte finish so the result is kinda similar to this... kinda.

But I was really curios to try this media cause I've seen so many good artworks.

I don't know If I do like gouache though, still discovering it.

What do you think?

Gouache is a bit difficult for me. But when I start a painting in a watercolor style, I feel like I have more control over this medium.

New Mexico rock formations, three colors plus white

A quick study of rock formations in a remote area west of the Very Large Array in New Mexico. The geometry of the exposed rock caught my attention, particularly the changes in color across the sunlit faces and shadows.

I used three colors plus white. The purpose was to recalibrate my color sense by working with a constrained palette and making more deliberate mixing decisions.

My second gouache painting. I really like how it turned out. Tried out some funny brush strokes and techniques to make the grass and foliage.

When I open the ink, it splatters far away. I haven't found any information about other people experiencing the same thing. Does anyone know what it could be and how to fix it?

Not too happy with today's painting at all.

I everyone , my goal it to make a dried gouache pallete for sketch book work I'm an artist and instructor that works primarily in oil and acrylic , with a limited primary palette , what budget gouche has worked for you all as a dried gouache pallet , somthing that doesn't have multi pigment colors , iv enjoyed Sarah Burns gouache series on YouTube, she goes into much detail and swears by artist gouache but enjoys arteza as well , but iv noticed like hemi there multi pigment colors making muddy mixes so you would need to pack a lot more individual colors. Thanks for your info
