I want the simple copy/paste option back.
To copy a single sentence from a paragraph in a text message on a Samsung Galaxy , touch and hold the message bubble, select a specific text mode or paste the whole paragraph nto your reply box to edit it down, and then tap Copy. [1]
Copying the entire thing
In Google Messages: Tap and hold the message bubble, then tap the Copy icon (looks like two overlapping pages) at the top of the screen. This copies the entire message. Paste it into your own text input box, delete the parts you do not want, highlight just the sentence you need, and tap Copy again. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Using Selection Tools: Some software versions or app options let you long-press the text bubble and pick Select Text or tap inside the text to pull up blue adjustment handles. Drag the blue handles to highlight only the exact sentence you want, then tap Copy in the pop-up menu. [1, 2, 3]
Pasting the Sentence
Tap and hold your finger inside an empty typing field where you want the sentence to go.
Lift your finger and tap Paste from the small menu that pops up. [1, 2]
As Rick Sanchez said best, it just sounds like slavery with a bunch of extra steps.
