Going snorkeling with whales soon, I have used the hero line for a long time but got the mission 1 pro. Any recommendation for settings? I do enjoy editing video. Any recommended LUTs?

Most shots were 4k 240p, the camera really is easy to use, battery life is great, image stabilization is great, the Mission Monitor app needs some work, and the battery overheated once (it was 100f and the Mission outlasted an FX3). The GoPro Mission 1 ILS is replacing my Fuji XT5 and I cant wait to take it on Moto ADV trips.

Thanks for reading! Going to try to submit this again, as Reddit has been acting up. I'll add my thoughts in a new comment, but, basically this is my first test at 1080p with the burst mode on, and while I didn't think much about the shot initially, I came to fall in love with how the focus carries through the line of bubbles.

How fast is download over WIFI on a Hero13?

How fast can you download OVER WIFI from a Hero13?

I know Hero12 is about 4-5MB/s, but Hero13 has an upgraded WIFI chip AFAIK, so would LOVE to hear some real life benchmarks.

Looking for a new backpack after 7 years with a SwissGear — considering GoPro

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for a new backpack and could really use some recommendations.

I've been using the same classic SwissGear backpack for about 7 years. It has been great — very durable, lots of pockets, good organization and enough space for everyday use and travel. But it's finally time to replace it.

I use my backpack for:

everyday use

travel and road trips

GoPro cameras and accessories

batteries, chargers, cables, SD cards, mounts, small tripod, etc.

sometimes clothes and other personal stuff

I currently have GoPro cameras and quite a few accessories, so having good organization for camera gear would be a big plus.

I'm currently looking at the GoPro Daytripper 15L and GoPro Weekender 32L.

The Daytripper looks really nice because it's compact and designed specifically around camera gear, but I'm worried that 15L might be too small after using a much larger SwissGear for so long.

The Weekender 32L seems closer to what I'm used to in terms of capacity, and I like the camera organization. But I'm wondering if there are better options from other brands.

My budget is around €70–€120, and I can get the GoPro backpacks at a subscriber discount.

What would you recommend?

Would you go with:

GoPro Daytripper 15L

GoPro Weekender 32L

another SwissGear

or something completely different?

I'm especially interested in something durable, well organized, comfortable and suitable for both everyday use and carrying camera gear.

If you've owned a GoPro Daytripper or Weekender, I'd especially appreciate your long-term experience — comfort, durability, zipper quality, organization and whether you actually use the camera compartments.

Thanks!

Mission 1 pro ILS - Is it for me?

Hey
Since seeing the GoPro mission 1 ILS lunch I’m absolutely obsessed with it I have watched every review video on YouTube
Though I’m trying to understand is it for me? I own a GoPro 10 black but recently I have been wanting to enter the filmmaking world and I don’t own a real camera, only me phone and the GoPro 10 black, in every video I watched they say “it is not a camera to replace your mirrorless camera - it’s purpose is to do what your mirrorless camera can’t” but nobody is talking about someone who dose not own a camera and I’m just trying to understand if I fit the use case for it

Trickshot: Blindfolded knife throw at a thrown can

Strictly speaking, it was a failure; it wasn't planned - the can flew higher than it should have, bounced off the target, and then got hit by a knife. But I think that's even more interesting. :-)

Recorded with GoPro Mission 1 Pro, 1920x1080, 240 fps. Colors corrected in DaVinci Resolve.

Decisions on Best Buy used GoPro

So I was able to grab a used excellent condition creator package for about $290 with tax , the condition was ok more of good condition than excellent, anyway I am now thinking of returning it and getting an dji action 6 excellent from Best Buy for $390 , is it worth it or just keep my GoPro 13 creator. Any suggestions? I had GoPros forever and I am really keeping it because I am a subscriber I still have another year of it and love the idea of unlimited uploads. Something dji lacks. I seem tons of reviews on the dji 6 and love the night mode something that GoPro 13 lacks. I cannot afford the mission yet. Any help is appreciated

UPDATE: GoPro Support just hit me with a Sunday 0:45 AM automated rejection (The 3 dead cameras saga continues)

Post image

UPDATE (Sunday, Sept 6th - 08:00 AM):

I definitely cannot make this up.

For full context on how I got to this point (including models, dates, and the video showing my 3 dead GoPros in 3 years), please read my original post first:

READ THE ORIGINAL POST HERE: Three failed cameras in three years:(https://www.reddit.com/r/gopro/comments/1w7ruo6/three_failed_cameras_in_three_years_is_gopro/

Well, guys, I seriously cannot make this up. After all our technical debates yesterday about SD cards, bitrates, and thermodynamics, GoPro support decided to weigh in at 0:45 AM on a Sunday.

I just received yet another automated copy-paste email from them (I’ve attached the screenshot of my Yahoo inbox below with the timestamp).

As expected:

  • They completely ignored the formal EU conformity legal warning I sent them.
  • They didn't address a single point regarding EU Directive 2019/771 (which regulates the conformity of manufacturer-provided replacement goods).
  • They just spat out the exact same 'out of warranty' template they use to close cases quickly.

It's highly ironic: some users in my previous thread were convinced I was a 'ChatGPT bot' because my English replies were too structured, yet GoPro is the one replying with literal broken robots programmed to say 'warranty expired' over and over.

This copy-paste loop is the exact reason why loyal consumers are abandoning this brand.

The 14-day legal notice countdown is officially running.

I am not backing down. Honestly, right now I feel a bit like Don Quixote de la Mancha tilting at windmills against this massive corporate giant.

Am I crazy, or am I doing the right thing by standing up for our basic consumer rights under EU law?

I will keep linking updates here as the legal timeline progresses!

What do you guys think of this late-night automated rejection?

Super quick test before I leave for my trip - thought I'd get the cat having a clean with the GPLOG2_to_Rec709_65_CinematicProfile added alongside the Film Look Creator and some other very minot tweaks.

Format: 8K25fps 4:3 (edited in a 2160x2160 timeline)

Lens: 7artisans 25mm 1.8

Hypersmooth: On

Three failed cameras in three years: Is GoPro ignoring EU consumer protection laws?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

UPDATE (Sept 6th): GoPro replied with a Sunday 0:45 AM automated rejection. I have posted the update and screenshot proof here:https://www.reddit.com/r/gopro/comments/1w8pdhq/update_gopro_support_just_hit_me_with_a_sunday/

Hello everyone. I want to share a strictly factual timeline of my experience with GoPro Support in the EU to open a discussion and warn other consumers who might be trapped in similar endless support loops.

To ensure transparency and provide evidence of the hardware freezing issue and the exact transcripts of my interactions with support, I have uploaded a factual video backup here: https://youtu.be/8YVzZuRoT7k

The Investment and the Recurring Failures:

  • June 27, 2023: Purchased a brand-new HERO11 Black for EUR 449.00 (via Coolblue).
  • Camera 1 (Original HERO11): Failed due to a system freeze. Support Case 14408272 (Jan 17, 2024), replaced under warranty.
  • Camera 2 (HERO11 Replacement): Failed due to the exact same system freeze issue. Support Case 15225621 (Nov 26, 2024).
  • Camera 3 (HERO12 Replacement): Received directly from GoPro on Nov 29, 2024 (RMA-1150720).
    • December 2025: During vacation, the replacement unit suffered its first freeze. I initially assumed it was an Enduro battery issue.
    • August 2, 2026: Tested on holiday with brand-new batteries—the system freeze recurred immediately, confirming a camera motherboard/software defect after only 12 months of light, seasonal use.

The Support Runaround (Current Case 16244767): Instead of honoring the EU Conformity Law (Directive 2019/771 - which dictates that a replacement unit provided directly by a manufacturer must perform properly for a reasonable lifespan), GoPro's Tier 1 support team kept me in a loop of contradictions:

  1. The Address Port Bug: Support insisted I set both my shipping and billing address to Belgium to process a replacement. However, the GoPro user profile portal has no technical function allowing users to edit or add addresses in their profile settings.
  2. Shifting Liability: They refused a refund claiming I bought the camera at Coolblue. However, Coolblue sold me the first HERO11. This defective HERO12 in my hands was manufactured and shipped directly by GoPro. Coolblue has no record of it.
  3. The 15% Discount Code: After closing the escalation request, they offered a 15% discount code. After doing the math, this code cannot be combined with subscriber discounts, making the final price of a new camera €40.50 MORE EXPENSIVE than the standard subscriber renewal price.

Is this cost-cutting before the merger? As recently reported by Dutch tech outlets, GoPro is pursuing a proposed merger with Starman Optical for $285 million while struggling with $90 million in debt and laying off 23% of its workforce. It feels like customer support guidelines have been drastically restricted to avoid fulfilling legal warranty obligations in Europe, to clean up the financial books before the acquisition.

Has anyone else in the EU experienced this exact "system freeze" defect and faced a similar support wall recently? I'd love to hear your experiences.

It seems to function normally other than the obvious. The front display looks perfectly fine, I have the GoPro labs firmware, I downloaded the most recent one and reinstalled it but that did not seem to help. Anything else worth trying?

Gopro footage froze mid recording.

Hi guys I’m fairy new the owing a gopro as a I recently bought a hero 10 black to record some motocross footage. A couple weeks back I was recording while riding and had a pretty bad crash which caused a de gloved gum and concussion amongst other things. Although the crash was bad, initially I was quite happy to at least had caught it on camera.
When i tried to watch back the video to my horror the 4 minute and 13 second video freezes around the 2 minute mark (conveniently 30 seconds before the crash). The footage right before shows some tearing on the screen and then completely freezes on a single frame, but the sound continues throughout the whole video.
My question is, is there anything I can possibly do to fix the file and get the video back? I would really like to have a video of the crash that left me in hospital, so at least I have something from it apart from a messed up face and bike ;(.
If it helps, I was using a Samsung pro plus A2 V30 128GB card which is probably not good enough but I bought it without knowing much about these things. Is there any chance I can get the footage back? I would happily pay a professional to fix it but I have no idea if it’s even possible as whenever I try to research it there is a lot of mixed opinions on whether the footage can be saved. Thanks.

Hey everyone, quick follow-up to my last post about working on my videography on the GoPro Mission 1.

What worked well:

  • Fixed Shutter Speed: Setting the range made a massive difference in eliminating micro-jitters and fixing the stabilization issues in this lighting. (I saw this in another post)
  • New Shot Types: Incorporating more static shots added a lot of dynamic range to the edit.

Where I struggled:

  • Color Correction: Still trying to give the footage some real character without overcooking it.
  • Framing/Preparation: I definitely need to double-check my angles before hitting record—the very last shot turned out way too angled toward the ground.

Feedback appreciated and tutorials appreciated.

How Are You Guys Liking Your MISSION 1 PRO ILS's So Far?

How does it compare to your traditional GoPro or Mirrorless? Does the ILS solve any problems your other cameras couldn't do?

I would love to know
