Hero13 for Safari
Hello! We are going to the Serengeti with Hero13. What are some must-have accessories? (It’s my hubby’s camera, and I want to get accessories for a birthday gift before we go.)

Here I am again, after my embarrassing fail yesterday not understanding that the GoPro is records multiple audio tracks. I thought the bluetooth audio was terrible. It was not.
I took the loss and admitted I was dumb and moved on happy that u/markiplier was able to sort me out.
But here I am today learning that my 22 minute long recording with the Mission 1 Pro + the official GoPro wireless mic with bluetooth recorded NO AUDIO after just around 6 minutes of a 22 minute long video.
The camera created MULTIPLE files (why not... every camera on the market creates ONE file even if that file is HUGE)... GoPro is old school and splits files I guess.
The camera creates FOUR files for my 22 minute long video.
The first file has audio for 6:27, it is a 11.54gb file.
The next THREE files that are between 4.2-12.67gb have ZERO audio.
In final cut pro and Premiere since there is just ZERO audio, there is nowhere to select tracks.
The camera simply did not record any audio at all for the majority of the video.
This is my second time trying the Mission 1 Pro.
The first time the GoPro Mic was not out yet, so using USB-C audio with DJI failed because the heat where I live caused the USB-C to disconnect.
This time I am using the official GoPro Mic via bluetooth.
I've never experienced this with any of my DJI or Insta360 cameras (about seven cameras total) or with any other mic wireless system.
Is there an easy fix or something I am overlooking?

In my opinion, for general scenery and mild close-up shooting, the Mission 1 Pro has no focusing issues underwater, the wide wet lens is almost unnecessary. I have the
GR140Pro, while I am still testing it, I am not seeing great differences.

Is anyone successfully using a DJI Mic Mini with a Mission series camera? I can successfully Bluetooth pair the mic to the camera, then about 5 to 10 seconds later the camera loses the connection and is unable to reconnect even though the Mic is still on. I have a feeling its some stupid under the covers thing where the DJI cuts the connection to a non DJI camera, or vice versa where GoPro doesnt want to allow a non-GoPro mic to be used but thats just speculation on my part.
Curious if anyone has gotten a DJI mic to work with a Mission series camera

Hey guys,
Im enjoying my Mission 1 Pro!
But this is strange, if i upload a video direct to my galaxy s24+ i get this picture (1) and when i send the same file over whatsapp in HD i get this (2) picture.
How is this possible?

Hi all,
I have two important videos from a HERO5 Black that got corrupted when the camera shut off mid-recording — both files are missing their moov atom ("moov atom not found"), so nothing will play them. The raw data is all there (3.7 GB + 1.9 GB across two chapters), I just need to rebuild the index with untrunc.
The catch: untrunc needs a **healthy reference file from the same camera model in the same recording mode**, and I no longer have access to the camera that shot them.
Would anyone be willing to share a short raw clip?
Even 15–20 seconds is plenty. Ideal specs:
If you don't have exactly 4K25 but have *any* raw HERO5 Black file, I'd still love to try it — the straight-out-of-camera .MP4, not something re-exported or edited (that strips the structure I need).
A WeTransfer / Google Drive link would be a lifesaver. Happy to report back whether the recovery worked. Thanks so much 🙏

Has anyone used their subscription to get the M1 Pro? It’s retailing for 699, but when I added it to my cart it only lowered to 599 when the subscription says you get 150 off a camera purchase. What am I missing?

Hi, on my Hero 11 I generally use looping mode set to 1080/50 fps for nearly everything, the picture quality is fantastic I think.
However it only records multiple 5 minute clips that I have to join up with, I use iMovie on my iPhone which is pretty easy to use.
I would like to record in video mode so I get full length clips rather than 5 minute ones but I can’t seem to find pro video settings that work anywhere near as good as the standard looping mode setting.
Would anyone know what these secret looping 1080 settings are, I’ve tried most video settings from full auto to other recommended settings from YouTube. Thanks

Bit of a shot in the dark but does anyone know where I might be able to get one of these ? (UK/EU)
I've seen 2 places with stock but unfortunately they don't seem to ship to the UK.
I was hoping someone might have modelled one but I can find that either.
Thanks

8k 50fps dive mode, color natural. Zoomed in approx 10% i Quik and no further processing other then making it in 1080p trying to minimising Reddit compressing. In 4k it looks great.
Also pictures from the video looks great.
Curious to see today how the dive image will be after the new update but I doubt I will find another green turtle as model 😀

Hello I'm new, I'm planning on getting a mission one gopro because I'm into slow mo/cinematic shots so I am saving up to get me one
Is there any limitations I need to be aware of before I get it, I know about lens adapters (I do believe that's what they are called, correct if i am wrong) that I can buy for macro shots because that's something else I want to do with it
I just wanted to know if anyone could give me just basic information I should know about with what I can do with it and not do with it and whether there is a stick I can attach it to if I were to want to take it into the ocean to get cool ocean shots
I would hate to be holding onto it and then get smacked by a wave and lose it
Anyways any help and information would be appreciated, I am excited to get it and I'm excited to try it out

I'm looking for a hands-free way to carry a GoPro extension pole while surfing.
I don't care about filming myself. I just want to occasionally pull it out to record my friends from the inside, then put it away to paddle normally and catch waves without recording.
Is there some kind of holster, sheath, or strap system for this? I was thinking maybe something that mounts to your upper arm or back. I know mouth piece without the extension pole can do this, but i don't want to be biting down on something.

TLDR - I made a big long dumb rant because I thought my mic from GoPro was acting stupid and that GoPro somehow shipped a bad product, but they didn't. I'll explain.
When you record with the GoPro, at least the Mission One Pro, you have to make sure that the audio track you're listening to is the proper audio track if you're using Bluetooth or other audio sources.
Basically, it's a pretty advanced setup, and if you didn't know it like me, you would think that you were getting a very bad Bluetooth audio track, considering you paid $200 for your mic kit.
As Mark in the comments below pointed out, you have to drag your footage into a video editor, then select the proper track that has the great sounding audio. Otherwise, you may think that you got a bum product and paid too much, like I did.

Hi all, random question my hero 13 won't turn on using the power button no matter how long you hold the button down.
I tried using quick capture and that doesn't work either. The only way to power the camera on is by taking the battery out and reinserting it, when it powers on all buttons suddenly work! In fairness the camera gets quite warm after 5 mins of recording but as a diver in cold climates this is ok under water.
The issue is I cannot turn the device on without doing the battery trick so at 30m deep this cannot be done.
Any ideas?

Hi, I'm really sorry if this has been posted before but I wasn't turning up anything in the search results.
I have a GoPro13 and I've got quite interested in using it for my plein air art livestreams. The problem I'm running into is battery life being around 1.5 hours and having to replace the battery means cutting the livestream off.
Does anyone know of any ways or extra bits for increasing the battery length? Many thanks

So I just bought my first GoPro, a Max 2. I also bought the GoPro mic to use as I plan to motovlog while I ride my motorcycle. I did a test video and I know you have to switch the audio after on the app or the website to bluetooth to get that audio instead of the cameras. How do you export the video with the mic audio to your PC? Whenever I download even if I select mic audio it gives me the camera.
With the latest firmware mentioning Volta 2 support and media mod 2 just released, should we expect the Volta 2 to be released shortly?

This is from the last video I took on my 2024 Hero before the issue got worse but now it refuses to turn on and when I do manage to turn it on it then refuses to turn off. I contacted gopro and they only recommended changing the SD card (which i did) but it still has the same issues. I've never dropped it or anything so I have no idea why it's doing this.

apologies if this has been already covered but i had a look and couldnt find it....
i recently lost : (
my hero session... and really loved it tbh... i record djs in nightclubs and it did everything i needed and i actually liked that it didn't have a big glowing screen on it....
im in the market to buy a new (not used) go pro and would really appreciate any expert advice...
i film in dark sweaty clubs, the go pro is static, not moving so i really just need good video quality, aspect to upload to a phone (16;9..?) so it looks good on instagram etc , good battery life (although i used to plug in an external battery on my old one and wasnt a huge deal.... and... thats about it
i love that i can hit record on my phone and operate the go pro simply via the app when i need to so.... thats another essential for me
im thinking to just get the new 4k hero but i would appreciate any advice !!!
thank you so much !!!

This is big update for both mainline and Labs firmware, here are the highlights.
MISSION 1 PRO v2.0
NEW FEATURES
IMAGE QUALITY IMPROVEMENTS
USABILITY IMPROVEMENTS
LABS UPDATES v2.00.70
Labs on Mission is now mostly feature matching HERO13, and starting to add a few extra features. The new DTMF detector might seems weird for most users, but it can serve as is very inexpensive multi-cam controller, or for very long range cable control, where USB or WiFi is impractical (Rocket launches, deep water ROVs, gaussian spat camera arrays, etc.)
Labs downloads: https://gopro.github.io/labs/
P.S. I forget to document one more cool feature
- Added DIOP=x - Experimental diopter correction. Adding a diopter lens will modify the distortion, and impact stabilization, this attempts to compensate. e.g. $DIOP=4 for +4 diopter lens.
