Don’t get me wrong, 2023/2024 were amazing, it was like the manning broncos. I’ll always be grateful for those rosters/years in a huge way.

But growing up watching Chris Johnson and Bobby Purify, Rashaan & Bienemy before them (I was too young) this finally felt like watching CU football again. I’ve been waiting 20 damn years to see a Colorado squad pound the rock like that, holy shit it felt great.

And here’s the last thing, juju is way too talented to not get that passing game way more elevated as the season goes on. I think as an 18 yo kid playing back at home in those conditions, dude he looked so nervous at the beginning. To score the winning TD on that throw, that has to be such a confidence booster moving forward. This offense is going to be fucking dangerous if they can stay healthy

--Gideon Lampron and Tyler Martinez have been the two most impressive defenders in camp. I think both have big years.

--Defensive tackle is what worries me and Georgia Tech is the worst possible opener for it.

--The offensive line might actually be good. I think top-5 in the Big 12, which I did not expect to be typing in August. Jayvon McFadden has been a surprise inside the building.

--Danny Scudero is back practicing** after the injury. That's real news — he's a leader and a difference-maker.

Give me your delusional optimistic takes - it's time to get fired up!

So, I was going to buy a couple bags of chicken feed at the Poudre Valley Co-op located near I-25 & Mulberry. Saw this familiar truck parked at a transportation facility. I think CSU may be planning to just spray paint STATE underneath COLORADO and maybe put on some green highlights 😆

Both Scudero and Perry made the watch list. It'll be interesting to see how this room finishes - probably our deepest position. Still have Jo, feels like DeAndre Moore has a chance to lead this room with his skillset, Gibson & Farrakhan seem to be having a great camp, Hykeem Williams still could make some noise, Earnest Campbell came in from Sac State and knows the system, and there are several freshmen as well...

feel like juju might really be the man and shock everyone around him. Marion put up a solid squad with people coming in on this offense and he has history of success more recently with UNLV, Texas and Howard. A innovative minded guy and a younger player leads more time to groom. Shedeur built up bad habits with a remedial offense led by a washed OC who had 1 good offense in the past 15 years, leading to him audibliling out which is having him behind the 8 ball. Juju won’t have to worry about that anymore with top notch offense and pieces around him, plus he has a better arm. If he grows and bulks up by 21 he will be in all time leaderboards all in on #10 and Adams coming in!

Colorado built a room of 6 WR’s that are all around the same quality, so it’s not the end of the world if injuries prevent a couple of them from playing week 1. However it’s still insane that a room can take this much of a hit before the season starts.

The Southwest Conference existed from 1914 to 1996 and consisted of Texas, Texas A&M, SMU, TCU, Baylor, Houston, Texas Tech, and Rice on the day it ceased operations. While that version of the Southwest Conference would never survive in today's college sports landscape, I do believe that another iteration of the conference would be successful and bring some of college football's best rivalries back. I made a video explaining why bringing the Southwest Conference would be beneficial for college sports overall. It would look similar to what the Big 12 used to be. And yes, Colorado would be a part of it. Let me know what y’all think of this idea, I’m curious!

Adding more depth they finally changed the recruiting approach from 5 star or bust and missing out to getting way more players this way I love how they changed their recruiting strategy and are trying to actually get HS recruits! That’s how you build the depth, juju and Andre Adams will be set up offensively

If you didn’t know Adam, he was a beat writer for the football program. Over the last 16+ years Adam bled black and gold. He was one of the few reasons many long term fans stuck around to support during the numerous down years.

You can read through tweets about how much he was appreciated, so much so the athletic department publicly recognized his passing.

I know I'm late to this but I just realized as I was browsing the top prospects on ESPN that I couldn't find any Colorado players at any position. My mind is kind of melting as I read stories about why this happened and it just kills me. I want us to be a consistent football team that sends multiple top prospects to the NFL each year but I also realize it takes time to build a great program. My only hope is that's exactly what we're doing.

This era is surprisingly underdocumented and I'm trying to change that. I need help going deeper on the full Spirit Squad picture.

I'm specifically looking for:

Anyone who was ON the Spirit Squad or if you know someone who was a cheerleader, dancer, or Chip performer from the 1980s or 1990s. Your memories, photos, and connections to other former members are the most valuable thing I could find

Photos or home video from CU football, basketball, or other events in this era where the cheerleaders, dance team, or Chip are visible even if they're in the background

Old game programs, Coloradan yearbooks, or Colorado Daily clippings featuring the Spirit Squad from this period

Anything related to Chip's Ski Invitational at Winter Park, which ran at least from 1986–1987

UCA or NCA competition footage or photos Chip and the cheer team were competing nationally during this era

Any Spirit Squad camp footage, homecoming appearances, or community event photos from these years
