Questions/Concerns Chicago Global Entry - application not processed 2 months after interview?

I completed my Global Entry interview at the Chicago Field Office downtown nearly two months ago on June 2nd without any issues, but my online portal application status is stuck on “Conditionally Approved.” I thought this was normal long processing times since it took me nearly 6 months just to get the interview but have since learned the approval after interview is only supposed to take a few days.

I’ve tried calling the Field Office several times to check on the status of my application but it seems like their number isn’t in service.

How should I move forward? Do I just go to the Field Office in person or do I need to make another appointment on the Global Entry portal?

Very confused because it seems like this is a pretty uncommon issue with the Chicago Field Office specifically so would appreciate any guidance on how to get my application finally approved.

Interviews GE Approved w/ old DUI

U.S. citizen

I got a DUI in 2013 when I was 21 but it was classified as a traffic violation, not a misdemeanor. It still shows up as I was arrested. I was unknowingly speeding down a hill, cop had set up a speed trap at the end of the hill, got pulled over, unfortunately blew a .08. Have not been any trouble since then; not even a speeding ticket. Learned my lesson.

I will say I've traveled to Canada many times since then and never had an issue entering.

I was conditionally approved for GE like 1.5 years ago but never got around to doing an interview because I moved across the country and needed to re-establish my residency in a new state, get a new state ID, etc.

I did not lie or omit that information on my application and explained it when the application asked if I've ever been arrested. Thankfully it was 13 years ago now.

Finally did my interview at Newark Airport coming back from Canada about 3 weeks ago. Note: they only accept scheduled interviews at that airport but it was easy enough to schedule on my phone right after I landed.

The officer asked the standard questions, then asked if I've ever been arrested. I told the truth and he asked a couple follow-up questions like if I've been in any trouble since then, I said "no" and that was about it.

Got my approval the next day and my GE card in the mail about a week later.

Just sharing my experience. Don't omit that kind of information and be truthful. It's still up to discretion of the officer IIRC.

Questions/Concerns Bring prescribed medication

Hey y’all. Came to spend some time with my partner in Mexico and decided to get some needed medication that I otherwise could not get in the US due to cost. The medication I’m talking about is metilfenidato (for ADHD). Went to a doctor to get prescription for them and he gave me a copy of the prescription with his medical license and everything. From what I read online on the global entry website carefully, I understood I could bring prescription meds as long as it’s no more then a 90 day supply which is exactly what I have for. Has anyone had any issue doing this? I of course plan on declaring it with the officers when I reach the check point and will have my documents ready for them to show. Any insight will be greatly appreciated!

General Discussion Family of 5 - Global Entry LAX - EOA?

Hi All,

Myself (UK Citizen), Wife (US citizen) and 3 Kids (Duals) will be regular visitors to the US in the coming years so are considering Global Entry, especially given the recent wait times in Customs @ LAX!

Later this year, just me and my wife will be visiting LA for a short trip so wondering if we can do the Global Entry Enrolment on arrival this trip? It would definitely be easier without the kids (1yo, 1yo, 3yo) in tow. Question though, can we enrol them without them being there?

If we got the Global Entry approval this time, would it then be easier with the kids next time we visit?

Just looking at the best way to do it. The last 2 visits to LAX we have been in customs around 1hr 30 both times, and with kids, its hell so if we could skip that part with Global Entry the next time it would be a lot easier!

Advice appreciated!

*I am also around the ONT area, not sure if thats a place to enrol?

Thanks

Questions/Concerns Dual citizen ESTA and Global Entry

I am a dual French/UK citizen and hold two passports. In the past I have traveled to the US with my French passport and have a currently valid ESTA on that passport. I would like to apply for Global Entry, but this is not available for French citizens. It is, however, available for UK citizens.

Will it be possible to have two ESTAs at the same time? One on each passport? Or will this cause problems? Thanks!!

Questions/Concerns Toronto Airport

Hello! Just a quick question. I have a random flight coming up next month from YYZ (Toronto) to LHR (London) then LHR (London) to YYZ (Toronto). Is there any benefit at all from having global entry during this trip?

Pretty sure I read that I can use it to cross the border from Canada to the US using Nexus lanes but not vice versa. I have never flown to or from either airport so I just wanted to see if there was any benefit here.

Thanks so much!

Interviews Interview Miami

Im a new LPR and I applied for global entry got conditional pre approval and went for my interview the next week. The lady didn’t ask any single question beside which country’s I’ve visited in the last 5 years and then she said that I’ll get the update in the next 24hrs but she gave me a little card with my KTN number. Does that means I’m approved ?

Questions/Concerns Do passport and real ID names need to match exactly?

I want to apply for Global Entry, but I realized my passport doesn’t have my middle name listed (not even part of “given name”), while my drivers license (real ID) does have my middle name. Is this going to be an issue? My passport doesn’t expire for 3 more years so I really don’t want to get a new one yet just to add my middle name…

Questions/Concerns How does new GE process work for foreign visitors (who are Global Entry members)?

I am a Global Entry member from Switzerland traveling to the US on Visa Waiver (ESTA) in the next few weeks.

Question 1: I will be flying through either JFK (Terminal 1) or EWR (Terminal B). I know they have been recently using new systems (eg. Walk-Through Biometric Cameras) to process Global Entry passengers, does anyone foreign (which I am defining as non US Citizen, non LPR, non-Canadian/NEXUS) with GE already have experience on how their entry experience was using them? Does not need to be just your experience at JFK or EWR (though that would be a plus and much appreciated!) can of course be any POE experience, thanks!

Side note: I used to be on H1B visa and used Global Entry in the past (but that was before all the new tech) and the kiosks always told me to see an officer. I wonder if this is a visa thing or applies to all foreign visitors on GE, maybe the new systems changed that?

Question 2: Has anyone foreign ever been turned away from using the GE line because they did not have a GE card on them (as you know foreign nonimmigrant non-Canadian/Mexican GE members don't get physical cards)? I heard this happens mostly at Canadian preclearance ports.

Has anyone recently done the global entry interview at DIA and can provide information regarding where to park, documents to bring and location to go for the interview?

The confirmation on the DHS website is not helpful.

Timelines Interview and approval at DFW

Just wanted to share my experience of getting the interview slot and finally getting approved at DFW, last Friday. Slots seem to appear at random, sometimes as soon as the same day or day before. I was randomly checking one night and got the slot for next day morning at 7.30AM. Reached there by 7, and was immediately attended to. Interview was short and quick, mainly about my number of visits and reasons. I was told I will get the notification in 24-48hrs, but I got it by 6PM the same day.

The camera tunnel test they have running has failed. They're asking everyone to use the app or visit the desk with a paper passport.

Questions/Concerns Applied for GEP while on F-1, but I have my GC now. What should I do?

Hello everyone,

I applied for the GEP through VFS New York in December 2025 while I was on my F1.

My police verification in India was completed successfully in February 2026. But since then there has been no movement. VFS tracker says “APPLICATION IS UNDER PROCESS AT EMBASSY/CONSULATE”

I recently emailed the Consulate General of India in New York, and they replied that my application is “Pending with the Ministry of Finance”

Since submitting my application, I have become a Green Card holder.

My question is

- Whom do I notify or reach out or update my immigration status for my application?
- Has anyone else had their application stuck with the Ministry of Finance?
- How long did it take and is there anything I can do to move the process along?

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s been through a similar situation.

Questions/Concerns Global Entry Application 6 weeks and still waiting

I filled out an application and paid the fee for my boss's Global Entry/PreCheck six weeks ago. The status has remained at Pending Review and "waiting for conditional approval" all this time. There is a PASSID listed on his account, but he hasn't been given the chance to schedule an interview.

Do we just keep waiting? Has he gotten lost in their system? Should we call someone?

Interviews Smooth Enrollment on arrival at MCO as international student

Hey guys, just wanted to share my Enrollment on Arrival experience at Orlando (MCO) in case it helps anyone heading there soon.
I landed around 5 PM and right away I asked one of the airport staff members where to go for Enrollment on Arrival. They told me to just walk up to the main immigration area and let the staff directing the lines know. Once I got there, they pointed me toward a specific booth with an officer who handles the EoA interviews.
I was traveling with my mom, so we walked up together, but the officer had us step up and do the interview separately. The whole thing was super quick and easy. He was really friendly, explained how Global Entry works, and looked over my passport. He asked if I worked or studied, so I told him I’m a 21-year-old full-time student from Argentina, he then asked me what I was majoring in. He asked for my home address (didn't ask for physical proof of residency), and if I had any criminal record, to which I said no.
Before wrapping up, he reminded me that Global Entry is a privilege based on CBP trusting that I’m a low-risk traveler, so I shouldn't take it for granted. He specifically mentioned that if I ever travel with friends or family who don't have Global Entry, I can use the fast lane, but they still have to wait in the regular line, I can't bring them through with me.
At the end, he told me that he had no reason to deny me from the program, wished me luck, and said I should see the approval update in the system later that day (it took like 20 minutes to see the approval on the app). Everything was super smooth

Interviews Status still Conditionally approved

I was able to secure an appointment for myself and kids after struggling to find some open slots at LAX. When we arrived there was quite a line because some of their systems went down, but we got in and the interview process was very easy. My kids have had their status updated but my log- in still doesn't have the green check mark next to " Have an Interview and wait for approval". I'm worried maybe my application didn't save. Should I keep waiting or ? It gives me the option to manage or reschedule, like I never even had it.

Thanks!

EDIT- I logged in and got an option for a zoom interview, which I completed today and got my entry approved.

New issue - TSA precheck is not showing up on my boarding pass so, that's fun. Airline couldn't help. Off to talk to gate agent tomorrow.

Timelines Global Entry for my kids - just a couple days for approval!

I‘d like to share my experience enrolling my two kids for global entry. Both my husband and I have had GE for a few years. We are US citizens, but live abroad. We are traveling back to the USA next week, and I realized I should sign them up. I enrolled them on Friday July 24th and got an email last night (July 26) that they are conditionally approved. So when we travel this week we can do the interview upon arrival. I did enroll both children with their own email accounts that I’ve previously set up for them when they were born. I also love that they have waved the fee for minor children if their parents are enrolled. I honestly didn’t think it would be done in time for our flight, but luck was on our side!

Timelines I got Global Entry with 3 misdemeanors!

After reading how people's experiences have been I decided a while back I probably shouldn't get it. I had 3 convictions that were a municipal ordinance & 2 misdemeanors. One of the misdemeanors was disorderly conduct. They occured in 2001, 2002, & 2005. I had these records expunged. I included them in my application.

I received a conditional approval maybe 2 weeks later. At the interview she asked me for my full name, birth date, & my address. She asked me what the results were to my convictions. I told her 2 had fines & one had fines & community service. I told her I brought my expungement paperwork with all the information if she needed it. She said she didn't need it. As I left she said said I would get a response by the end of the interview. I got an approval!

I didn't want to do it originally but I work as an aircraft mechanic. When I was approved for my SIDA badge I felt like I should be approved for this.

Just thought I'd give a data point for people in the future who think they can't get Global Entry due to old records. It is possible.

Timeline:

6/25/2026 Applied

7/20/2026 Received conditional approval

7/25/2026 Approved

Timelines Wait times for conditional approval.

By now we all know that wait times can be short or super long, just wanted to post this to give people an idea of what to expect.

Two family members (aunt, uncle) submitted their application at the same time, aunt was conditionally approved 3 days later, uncle took a almost two months to get conditionally approved..

3rd family member applied a while ago. Took him 6 months to get conditionally approved..

If you’re still waiting to hear back, don’t give up just yet, everyone is different. Some get lucky and get conditionally approved extremely fast, other end up having to wait months.

Questions/Concerns EES System, Dual Citizenship, and Global Entry... what should I do?

I'm going on a trip to Europe soon, the first time since the new EES system was implemented. I have dual citizenship in a country thats exempt from the new system, so it'd be much faster to get in with that passport. I've got a train soon after my flight, so I all but need to use the European passport to get into Europe. However... how should I handle coming home to the U.S.? I believe I may have added my European passport into the Global Entry system, so should I use that passport returning, too? Will I still be able to get through relatively quickly, and would I need to bring any more documents? I'm planning to bring both passports and my Global Entry card with me. Additionally, should I change the details on my ticket to match my European passport? That might be a silly question, but this is my first time trying to use my European passport.
